Most of New Jeans success was because they had ARMY supporting them, without that support they are just another GG.
MHJ has seemingly destroyed New Jean's brand with ARMY, I very much doubt they can ever repeat the success they had without them.
I was supporting NJ because of BTS. Even if NJ decides to stay at Hybe, I can’t listen to their songs or stream their MVs anymore. Because of MHJ’s maliciousness and NJ’s show of disrespect, I no longer am willing to support them. I will support the other Hybe artists, except NJ , as long as these artists remain loyal to Hybe and BTS. I’m not sure if there are Armys who are feeling the same way as I do, but to me NJ is a past history.
Sorry, NJ, but you’ve gone too far for my heart to forget everything that happened. It’s not about forgiveness. It’s about what is remaining in my brain and my heart.

I think so too. I could only support the argument that these are such young people at the beginning. These women are grown up enough & have had enough time to get information from the internet.
Girl everytime i saw NJ video pop up in my fyp i will automatic clicked "not interested" button cuz the feeling of dissapointed over them is huge. If NJ stay quiet and show they didn't support Min heejin maybe i still can enjoy their content and music but now its really hard to listen to their song happily. even my fav idol did a dance cover of their song, i will just ignored it back then i still can accept it a bit because there are only 2 people that speak openly support MHJ back then but now all of them supported MHJ and that make me feel really dissapointed over the girl. I'm still can accept that they speak up because of what HYBE did but i'm not okay when NJ said that MHJ was everything for them

HYBE's offer to MHJ is an unsurprising strategic move. They are dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's in preparation for future litigation. They are proceeding methodically and professionally, looking after the best interests of the companies, artists, and shareholders. HYBE and ADOR have the fiduciary responsibility to ensure information about their artists, in this case, NewJeans, is correct. NewJeans is getting a reality check: Artists have no say in the company's operations. MHJ's press releases and frivolous claims are getting old and will have no effect. She will ultimately fall on her own sword.

I think all this was a strategic move as well. They have incoming lawsuits to deal with so all these moves are within that context. And are smart moves.

I was once a fan of NewJeans from Korea, but now I no longer listen to their music due to Min Hee-jin.
Global fans may not be familiar with the cartel of Korean entertainment and sports media. Additionally, there was a fierce battle between Kakao and HYBE to acquire SM Entertainment. During this process, Kakao's CEO was involved in stock manipulation and is currently in prison. Behind Min Hee-jin stands Kakao, and behind that, the Korean entertainment and sports media cartel.
Korean entertainment and sports media have historically controlled public opinion by publishing positive or negative articles about entertainment agencies, while also controlling broadcast appearances. There have been cases where enterrainment media outlets accepted bribes or were involved in illicit favors. Both SM and YG have had numerous criminal cases involving these shady backdoor deals. You may be familiar with BigBang’s Seungri scandal. Additionally, incidents involving drugs and suicides are common in idol groups from those agencies.
Among Korea’s three major entertainment agencies, JYP has stayed clear of these dark transactions. Bang Si-hyuk, who also came from JYP, has maintained a clean direction for HYBE as well.
BTS achieved global success through social media without the help of Korean entertainment journalists. These journalists were envious and tried to downplay BTS. When BTS’s “DNA” hit the Billboard charts, Korean media barely covered it. It was only when BTS reached number one on Billboard that the Korean media began to pay attention.
There’s another reason Korean journalists dislike Bang Si-hyuk. It’s because the song "Spring Day" touches on the Sewol Ferry tragedy, which is seen as supporting the progressive side in Korea. This aligns Bang Si-hyuk with Korea’s democratic camp.
The current government in Korea is conservative, and the media is aligned with that conservative power. So, this battle isn’t between Min Hee-jin and HYBE.
It is a war where Korea's conservative media and Kakao are attacking HYBE, using Min Hee-jin as their proxy.

For example, Suga's case wasn't just an incident but a well planned operation. Compare that with Taeil's case which was barely covered and seems like has been completely dropped by the media.

Thank you for this detailed explanation. Many would only know the surface level and pick sides. Glad to know I'm not the only who thinks it's much more than min hee jin vs HYBE. This is almost kakao proxy vs HYBE. And that shaman was definitely working for kakao/sm. She didn't allow min hee jin to invest money. Min hee jin will also be thrown over once they don't find any use of her.
I hope you are right and this mess will be over by the end of the year. While others may stay with New Jeans, I just can't. MHJ is not letting them grow as artists. What was once fresh and youthful now just seems stale. Add to this is the behavior of the girls themselves. At some point the disrespect for others and the whining is just too much. I am tired of these entitled girls. When they grow up maybe I will give them another look but right now I am done.

@@lindas5511 agreed! I deleted the one and only song I bought of theirs. Can’t even stand to listen to their music being played without getting annoyed. While I do believe MHJ has a huge role in their “upbringing,” their parents were responsible for them from day one. All of them are definitely undeserving of any further attention.

@@KsenijaHajdu-x3g If you're referring to mhj's injunction case that she won, the judge determined that there was enough evidence (which was presumably either returned to HYBE, or placed in a file at court for future reference) to show that she had definitely been planning to harm HYBE, and that she actually had. Unfortunately, the judge had to adhere to the law, which said that since she hadn't harmed ADOR, the company that she had a contract with, she couldn't be fired from ADOR. This made no sense, as she also had a contract with HYBE, and HAD harmed THEM. At any rate, the injunction was only good for two months, and only kept HYBE from voting their shares in order to fire her for that specific length of time. There was nothing stopping HYBE from restructuring their company, though, so they fired the other two CEO's that mhj had brought into ADOR, replaced them with HYBE employees, and made mhj a CO-CEO. When the injunction expired, ADOR called a meeting of their Board of Directors and shareholders, with mhj attending on a Zoom call... she was voted out as CO-CEO of ADOR, and HYBE took away her shares in their company, since she was no longer entitled to them, as they were only given to CEO's as an incentive. After NJ posted their video, HYBE met with the members of NJ and their parents. It's not known what happened at this meeting, but... here we are.
I trust Hybe, as long as they are guided by their lawyers and they don't violate any laws. They now know what kind of person they are dealing with.
Again, HYBE DID NOT KNOW that she was grooming NJ members till it was tipped off about her plotting against company THIS YEAR and only then everything came on light. I don't think that Hybe failed NJ members. How on Earth would Hybe know what is happening in Ador and how ubnormal and toxic MHJ is. If they knew, MHJ's foot would never even cross Hybe's doors, would it? And Hybe wouldn't have problems with her. Hybe SIMPLY DIDN'T KNOW. But as soon as they learned about how she groomed girls, they are trying to help NJ out being EXTRA CAREFUL not to breach NJ member's contracts. Sorry to say, but MHJ has a very bad reputation when comes to how she sees/treats minors, so even tho she is a good producer (not the greatest as her PR always make appears) they should've kept an eye on her vere closely.

Hybe is board company and Hybe's board doesn't interfere with business and other decisions of their subsidiaries as long as investments into them are justified with (expected) financial and other outcomes. So please tell me how, even legally. Only after audit process was initiated against MHJ, when Hybe got a tip about really problematic actions on behalf of Ador's board led by MHJ, Hybe got an insight into the picture and revealed serious imbreachment of law and realised that she groomed both parents and girls into her game. They tealised this first only from Kakao messages and later to their surptise Hybe realised that NJ members are completely under her control. We aren't talking about artistic influences here, we are talking about psychological grooming and clear signs of a Stockholm syndrome these girls suffer from as a result of being psychologically groomed and brainwashed. Since Hybe is aware what is goung on, Hybe is trying to separate girls from thair groomer which is logical, ethical and responsible response. Hybe is trying to protect girls and empower them as artists, make them to believe in themselves, trying to make them realise that it is their talent for which they are successful, not only or exclusively work of managment or producers. But girls refuse to believe in their own strenght. Which is typical for mentality of the groomed, such person believes that it can't survive without its abuser because the abuser fixated that belief into them. Hybe didn't know about situation to prevent it, but it is trying to protect girls since it is aware of it. Also, what are chances that a CEO you will employ will show up as child abuser? Suvh cases happen but are very rare. Because even abuser was not born as abuser, it develops into abuser eventually, especially if situation plays in their hand. MHJ coming to Ador was situation playing in her hand because multilabel system is based on independence of sublabels. So she could be doing whatever she wanted and Hybe wouldn't know unless it was tipped off about it, or if financial crisis or the police report about something fishy is going on would bring their attention to a sublabel to investigate it. And this is exacy what happened - Hybe was warned that something bad is going on with MHJ, and Hybe immediatelly reacted with audit. With which she still doesn't cooperate and refuses to give up her laptop. These are facts. Hybe did not failled girls by pushing themnin hands of MHJ knowing that she is abuser, right? If Hybe knew that she was abuser, MHJ would never ever get job in Hybe and get chance for damaging Hybe. Please understand this.
I completely agree with this comment. I trust Hybe and we have seen the idols they house as a symbol and extension of their principles. Its just that with all that happened with glam and how netizens felt about how they handle girlgroups, Hybe wanted to give NWjns all the support and advantage they needed to succeed but MHJ exploited that sentiment and tried to turn it to her advantage at the expense of HYBE.

It simply isn't fair to blame Hybe for what MHJ was doing to girls. If you knew that a teacher was p3d0, would you employ him in kindergarten or school? Of course you wouldn't. They offered something she won't accept but that she SHOULD accept if she actually cared about New Jeans. So they come out better than she does. Even if she takes it she doesn't have the power she did before. She will have a boss over her as a producer. She was a good (though I disagree she was great) producer. New Jeans was never as successful as she made them out to be.... Just look at the issue in Japan. HOWEVER.... there needs to be a clause that keeps her from unilaterally going to the press while she is a producer. I've never worked in a company where people run to the press outside of the PR department. Doing that is damaging the company. She needs a muzzle.

Hybe took the middle ground way. It's true very generous considering what she said,how she bad mouth the Company you work for.I hope this will not be used as barometer for future kpop groups to demand from their company like they did. Hybe this time should and must put terms and conditions to protect the company from these kind of employees including this group. Next time these employees do something the clause should include stringent punishment.

- offering MHJ to stay because of NJ request. So Hybe is considering the artists request. They are also doing what is best for NJ.

MHJ can't be controlled whether in or out of HYBE. She will continue to spread negativity to those around her and infect as many people as possible. This whole drama is draining and I do worry that it has already affected BTS and will continue to do so. I don't understand how MHJ and NJ are getting away with the egregious things they have said against Hybe. I guess I wouldn't be good at business because all these mind games are exhausting. MHJ is smart enough to know exactly what HYBE is planning to do. My only hope is that she'll be true to her greedy self and won't accept the terms and litigation will take over.

I think it was a smart move because they knew MHJ wld say no. They knew she'd pick herself. My favorite part is that she wanted them not to include in the new contract what she called a "poisoned pill," which is just she can be fired at will! lol! Like a regular employee.

it is exactly what they already offered plus sit in the board. I wouldn't give her a sit in the board, however she can't do much harm in board as such in sense that she can't beat another votes. Bad side of this is : she will have all the information on decision-making level and will leak it to SME. That's why I hope she rejects a role of producer and leaves Hybe in month or so completely. Sit in board should be conditioned with signing as a producer. If she rejects producing, there is absolutely no reason to keep as as internal director and a board member.
I feel the same way about NJ MHJ and the former guy who is running again for president.

i agree, she is luck to have such an offer...nothing against New Jeans i absolutely don't know what i would do if New Jeans wasn't around...they get me through my days...new jeans is very young and doesn't realize the cutthroat business world of kpop...their intentions were well meaning on their part and they will learn how things work as time goes by and they mature...i love them and give my full support for them but minheejin is not what they thing she is ..they would make it without her even though she has made them believe that they would no....this offer made by Hybe is very generous and much more than i anticipated them offering. However Hybe made this decision based on a business decision and not emotion, which i was glad to see. so she should feel blessed that she got this offer and settle down and get back to work. take car of OUR GIRLS is the most important thing not minheejin.
Keeping Nj is a liability. The brand was built on copying and lies. We all know HYBE don't need the elementary girls. HYBE already got replacements. HYBE don't need MIN .you are wrong do you really think HYBE cares what this crazy woman does.

I work for a big organization and whenever we need to "remove" someone with indefinitive contract and is not posible to reach a monetary agreement, then that someone is assigned to a job we know he or she does not want and/or where she or he wont cause major troubles, then that person is fully monitored and whenever an objective is not achieved or there is a mistake a warning is provided, after 2 of those... the person is fired. Sometimes they just decide to look for another job instead of staying. All thi is kind of hard and unhuman but it is what it is. Big coorporations works on that way.
It’s the long game HYBE is playing. They know she’ll keep doing the same nonsense and she’s out. They’re also letting New Jeans dig their own hole. I don’t think the future is that bright for them.
MHJ is definitely fuming! She may be calm on the surface, bit she's a raging storm on the inside. She's getting desperate and on panic mode. From now on, it will be onemistakes after another. Her downfall is fast approaching, her "allies" will betray her, and the media...well...we already know what will happen.
As for NJ, they need a new fresh concept, reinvent themselves and show the world their real talent as GFRIEND comeback is in January. The KATSEYE debut is doing great on the charts, ILLIT will have a comeback soon. LE SSERAFIM are on roll.

i dont get why does mhj claim all of those things. she would know hybe could maybe have recorded the meeting who knows or have proof of that. is she trying to force hybe proof themself or something? this is no longer things that could be misunderstood at a meeting. like the money and leave offer. if she claimed that she should have shown the offer on paper. if they dont have that i think it´s stupid to make such an importaint meeting without a note taker who can write about the meeting. even the smallest meetings i have taken i was emailed a letter about it afterwards. but i don´t buy the reason for wanting her back. not all of it. because why did they go throught all of that to fire her and then wanting to take her back. nj has said they want mhj from the beginning why did they wait before nj made that yt live?
i agree on reason for wanting to keep the brand of nj and that she could run it under supervision, and it would be a quick fix to the problem. but i think they already knew mhj would reject the offer. maybe hybe found out who the investor of nj is and want to stop that from happening. i can assure they know more than we do and already have people on it to see what the other part has in their back. so i think hybe set up these terms as a way to proof that they at least tried so if nj sues and leave hybe after that, than people will blame them. as they should in the first place but strangely enough many still dont.

No creo que sea idea mía, pero, pase lo que pase quien más pierde siento que es NY ya que imagino que si hay litigio eso involucra de algún modo una suspensión de actividades mientras esté vigente. Y mientras se resuelva si hay o no litigio siguen en suspenso y enfocadas en el conflicto. HYBE sigue con su corporación, MJY gane o no la pelea imagino que algo se va a llevar (además del daño de imagen de las empresas ADOR y HYBE). Y, si NY logra su independencia va a quedar marcada como desleal empresarialmente lo que siento los pondría en desventaja ante posibles problemas futuros donde ya estarían enmarcadas como problemáticas para futuros empleadores. I'm not an army and I quit kpop for a couple of years before New Jeans came out. New Jeans brought a new generation of listeners. They were fresh and brought something new to the table. They had even some celebrities listening to their music. They achieved so much for 2 years. Le seraphim is under hype too but why are they not at NewJeans caliber?
Can you please support your claim that Min Hee Jin did all the things that HYBE claim she did? Nobody, not even HYBE can directly and physically show evidence to the public of things they claim MHJ did. Even the judge dismissed the claims due to lack of evidence?
I'm pretty sure HYPE wants to control MHJ and wants her to help other groups within the company. She probably refused to help so they are attacking her.

On the subject: it was actually clear from the beginning that the ultimatum would have no effect (I mean who are they to dictate something?). However, MHJ has the advantage of having the long term plan for NJ. HYBE now has the problem that they actually know that NJ has a positive impact on their income (not that much like 50% or something but even 2% is good. In 2023, they were debt-free) and that only MHJ is able to manage them. Otherwise they just would have fired her by November. NJ have brand deals left and right which is also income. So what can HYBE do? The best solution would be, if MHJ would accept the offer by HYBE but without the parts, who could have her fired the next day.
The lawyers have to agree on something here. There's no point in people getting involved on X, especially in areas they have no idea about (suddenly everyone is a lawyer). Less media play from both sides would also help to ease the situation.

From what I understood was, that he tried to contact both sides, got some informations from the PR team of HYBE with something, MHJ didn't like. The fact that mhj thinks the clause giving Hybe the right to terminate her contracts as being ‘toxic’ shows you what she is all about. She spent all this time trying to destroy Hybe’s reputation, insulting the management with rude and demeaning swear words. She also decided to start renegotiating a 5 year contract in year 3 when most negotiate in the last year. She is all over the press and news channels maligning the company. After all of that, she thinks it’s unreasonable for Hybe to want that clause to be included, which by the way is a standard contract. All contracts have the option to terminate early. She is kookoo for koko puffs.

Honestly, though, isn't New Jeans' success up to those who buy their music? Hybe may allow them and their momma to stay, but unless they do well in the market, keeping them is good for nothing. So, ultimately, it's up to those who've been purchasing their music, promoting them on social media, voting for them, and supporting them. BigHit and BTS knew this and used it to promote themselves and overcome the hurdles those in the music industry put in their way. They recognized the power of their followers and fostered that relationship. The real question is, can New Jeans and MHJ do the same? I don't think they can. And even if they do, another question to consider is this, "Do they have staying power?" Again, I don't think they do. My main hope and prayer is this whole drama is resolved BEFORE the remaining BTS members leave the military. Because if not, you can believe those supporting NJ will try to pull them into this mess. Right now, they are distanced from it solely because of the military rules of conduct. Let's just all hope this mess is over before the remaining members rejoin Jin and JHope.

they don't have a legal ground for this. This is why they tried with "manager said her to ignore me" and " Hybe was downplaying success of NJ in Tokyo/Japan, and Chairman didn't say hello. They want to constitute these 3 things as "harassment" to be able to leave Hybe and keep the money. Stupidity and manipulative nature of those "harrassment" claims is visible from helicopter. NJ have NOTHING against Hybe that constitutes as a breach of their contracts, and that's just a fact. They have lot of privileges from Hybe though.

I agree with everything you say but have a question. Is being an "at will" employee, especially in management, unusual in SK? In the US this is not uncommon but in our system labor rights are very weak and management is rarely covered.

they offered her same thing as two months ago...I only want to know if sit in board and internal director position stays with her even if she refuses producing NJ, or not. My guess is that board sot and production contract are related. If not, Hybe will be paying her for nothing plus she will be able to collect internal information# sell it to Hybe's enemues, and looking for cracks to use them in her advantage and hit Hybe back. NJ really torpedoed so much good will with their immaturity. MHJ isn't helping them grow to be respected in the industry. She basically is getting them to chart, but at the expense of their reputations and personality development.
How would Hybe get New Jeans to do anything if they did not let them have her. They do not respect anyone or anything and even think that all of this has come because of Min Hee-jin which is sad. They think they are nothing without her and that is just not true but it shows how isolated and brainwashed they have been over years. You will not be able to break them out of it quickly. It will have to be a process where they will have to stop listening to her and start believeing the truth about her. She isn't going to let that happen right now. She obviously will tell every lie, claim every victomhood, even making them believe they are victims, but not of her of course. They will be difficult for anyone to work with right now. These girls have a lot of hard realities coming their way no matter what happens. They have been living in a fantasyland that is not the reality of the real world and may never overcome it. How sad.
If MHJ has a blackbook on each of the top guns and artists in HYBE, she has not used all her cards yet. Or she has shown to them, and they have no way out, except to "keep" her before she destroys everything. Defiinitely, i go down, u go down with me, especially as i have nothing to lose now. Watching this MHJ vs HYBE corporate drama is like watching a few movies at one go! And NJ being "kidnapped" for "ransom". If you are a BOD member, the other members may elect you as a CEO. That's how they function in Korea, according to their laws. However, membership to it has an expiry date. MHJ's membership will expire in November. I heard it won't be renewed.
I also can’t believe that Hybe is allowing MHJ to continue to work with NJ given her toxic personality. It’s similar to when your child is throwing a tantrum and you give into the demands. I can’t deal with this situation anymore it’s too draining.
I tried to understand newjeans, but after the live streaming they did, I don't think they are worth to stan anymore. Everytime I see a content with a title "newjeans" I click not interested.
I wanted to believe they are just shields and sword mhj is using for her own benefit, and they're just close minded to see that.
