Ruck crossed over centerline on her last stroke, that was the 2 one hundredths difference

Can't break 25 seconds, so a disappointing result and not a qualifying time.

Dude she’s coming back from injury, and I believe it’s a PB

@@demmerforvezina That's a slow PB if that's the case. She won the trials but won't be swimming this event in Paris.

Taylor Ruck went under the qualifying time in Doha a few months ago, so she should be granted the opportunity to swim the 50 free in Paris despite going much slower here. Canada has zero hopes of medaling in this event, though.

@@echosmyron1278 I doubt that is how it works, but I'm not across the Canadian qualifying criteria. In the US and Australia the only criterion that applies is how well you do at the Olympic trials. Some countries pre select elite swimmers, but that is a rarity.

you need to meet the time cut, or you cant go.each country sets their own cutoff times. some countries like USA only take the top 2 even if 10 people make the cut. the 50/100/200 free you also get taken if you make the top 4 for relays. it doesnt make any sense to have her represent at the 50free. (think how much money a country has to spend to feed, house, fly, uniform, tickets to family, doctors, coaches, gear, medicine, PR) just for you to come in last in the heats. might as well spend more on josh liendo and summer macintosh so they can have a better chance at gold and world records.
