- I love hearing and seeing what you all love! And I am always excited to react to new and trending songs. But I'm a bit burnt out from chasing fire all the time, so I'm starting a new series! Every once in a while I will focus on one of my favorite metal vocal performances, live or studio. These are songs where I think the vocalist did an exceptional job in their role. Which metrics do I use to pick my favorites? After a lot of painstaking research and testing, I've combined it all into one requirement. If I think it's dope as f*ck, then it's GOAT material for me. If we're talking vocals from a performative stand point, "Slice the Cake" - "Ash to Dust part II", "Stone and Silver part I" or "Westward Bound Part I" are a must in my opinion, absolutely stunning! I'd love to see your reaction/analysis on that song.

Really excited for this series. About half the reason I follow your channel is exposure to some cool modern metal - my comfort zone is very much stuff that sounds like it was made before 1993 and I don't know a lot about more recent styles, so stuff you think is just *good* is waaaaay more interesting to me than another Electric Callboy reaction!
Also helps that this album is a pure masterpiece on every instrument
You're "support" mentality really shows in Kardashev especially in the Barring of Shadows EP i came to the conclusion myself listening to that album a few week back
We have a similar taste in music it seems (Vale of Pnath, Cattle Decap). Please do more of these. Not only do I get great music recommendations, but you highlight the strengths of these bands which opens our eyes to traits each vocalist/band has that may be a little too nuanced for folks who aren’t as well-versed in the field. Also watching this and your Death Atlas reaction was super entertaining because you can see how much you enjoy these songs!
Definitely saw the title and thought it was the entire album and was very very excited xD But it's still a fantastic track, I adore it and I'm so glad that you made this video, I love Vale of Pnath and I loved seeing the techniques broken down. Fantastic as usual!
I love them since they had ghe current vocalist of Inferi, I had the op to see them live in Mexico just a week ago and OMG the current vocalist have such a perfect high vocals

As for vocals, you might want to check out a fresh and rather underrated band called Saphath - there are some interesting techniques going on there

This series should be good as there are heaps of amazing songs that don’t have heaps of different techniques in terms of the vocals.

I’d love to hear a reaction to “Mindless Omnipotent Master” by Fallujah. This song kinda reminds me of Fallujah. Also, I really like this format where you just go off on a song that you already really like. I can feel the excitement, and you were able to go much more in depth on the vocals

I like to say these guys are the perfect blend of modern black metal, fused with tech death.. so idk blackened tech death? Deathened black tech? Idfk.. Obsidian realm & the title track off this album are some of the best metal tracks I've heard, probably ever.

Would love to get a reaction from some OG "Christan" metal band vocals. The one is particular would be, Society's Finest - Knife Fight. To this day, I have never heard anyone come close (excluding Dan Weyandt), to such a raw, throat wrenching style.

might i add to your list of considerations, the band Sylvaine. the vocalist has one takes that are good quality on youtube, as well as professionally recorded full band live videos. she does really effortless black metal vocals. really pretty songs. might be worth checking out at the very least, if not just go listen to. cheers fella.
