    Nerb, great job in the sand mate. How much easier is the T7 to ride in deep sand, loaded vs unloaded?

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  Год назад

      Unloaded is much easier. The gear really gets thrown around and the suspension has to work harder bouncing around the extra weight.

  • @cliveparsons7674
    @cliveparsons7674 3 года назад

    Very impressive and sound advice.Rode a wr250 unloaded and struggled..really struggled.Wonder if the extra power gets you on top of it easier?

    • @glossblack1098
      @glossblack1098 3 года назад

      My first sand ride was also on an unloaded WR250R and I struggled too. Second sand ride was on a Husky FE501, which was so much easier. The extra power really helps. Once in 3rd gear, the front wheel sits up on top of the sand and you can steer with the rear. I'll keep sand training on the 501, before I try sand on a loaded ADV bike. Nerb is very skillful and makes it look easy.

  • @beejaytee
    @beejaytee 3 года назад

    Please explain your thoughts on running lower pressure in the front compared to the rear. I’ve been a desert racer for years and we always run 2ish psi higher in the front. I’m curious what I’m not understanding about this.

    • @Nerb1
      @Nerb1  3 года назад

      The reality is, no one has told me otherwise! My theory was that I want to go as low as possible without spinning the beads on the rims. Fronts I am comfortable down to 10 or so. Rear has all the power going to it, so I wasnt game to go lower. Generally dont go much under 20.
      Honestly, I would love to hear from someone with experience as to what I should try.

    • @beejaytee

      Thanks for you kind words about my bike. 🤣 I gave the bike a complete going over including new rear shock, chain sprockets and wheel bearings. Obviously fixed the subframe as well. The oil problem was due to my lack of attention to detail and a loose hose clamp. Once fitted back in place properly it performed well and without fault. It isn't the best bike for the job, however it is smaller than the AT which I thought I'd struggle on more in the sand.
