Saw another tutorial where the guy used wood stain. Might just have been the choice of color of wood stain, which I think was red oak or something, but I think it came a little closer to actual bakelite. Maybe the brown just needs to have a little tiny bit of red to it.

The other tutorials I just saw didn't focus on the clear coat so much. But I think you have the right of it. It just brings out so much more depth! 😍 I'll do this too soon.
