@@Dr.MamaChidera we use a mix of different agricultural waste.. we use brewer dry waste, maize husk (dusa), dried cassava peels, and recently we started producing silage. A video of how made silage from our maize plant after harvest will be posted soon.
I suggest you separate the males from the females except for the selected crossing bull. In this case u it will be easy to identify which bull is producing better kids n this will help to improve your breed overall.
Secondly, if you can separate them into their specific breed categories. This is also going help u to keep your genetics alive without going into extinction.
Thirdly, those animals selected for cross-breeding must be put on a different program. This will help in knowing which program is giving the best results, and which one to stick to or to abandon. Thanks
@@emansulman-vt6pfthank you very much.. this is very helpful and we will do this nd see how it goes
@@AjiafricaCattleFarm if you prefer the bokolo breed, it is advisable to get a bokolo bull rather than a female. The bokolo bull has some of the strongest conversion rate when used in cross-breeding between other local breeds. They hv the fastest growth rate n when crossed with other local breed the result is bigger as well
@@emansulman-vt6pfthank you very much.. we just got a bukolo bull, we are still keeping it in quarantine but next week we will bring it into the ranch.. we are also going to consider separating the breeds as you said
