Mw3 as the last is chefs kiss, the fact they told us they'd do away with the yearly cycle for the first time since it began, just to turn back and double down on fucking was incredibly insulting
in my eyes they only made it a full game cause people would refuse to play MW2 for 2 years, everything was awful so MW3 had to stop being an expansion and a full game to change movement, perks etc
Activision never officially confirmed Modern Warfare II would have a 2 year cycle. It is pretty clear that Modern Warfare III was originally intended to be a DLC, though. They really sold a half baked product to millions of people for a quick buck. im Glad Black Ops 6 will be on gamepass because honestly pre-ordering a Call of Duty game is comparable to gambling nowadays.
I agree with most of this list although it should have 2 videos. Single player campaign and multiplayer. They are very different experiences as a whole, and it’s clear that the list would likely be different depending on that alone.
+1 to this. MW3 (recent) has a wildly better experience on MP than its campaign counterpart
The string of games from MW in 2007 to BO2 in 2012 was the golden age of this series, hit after hit after hit, what an era!

I'm gonna say it in advance - if I see that MW2 isn't ranked as number one, somebody is lying.
After watching: I was pleasantly surprised to not hear BO2 in number one. Good list.
Respect mw2 is my favorite of all time but I’m sorry bo1 is easily the most well rounded cod of all time. Its most definitely the goat 🐐

Who made this list goddamn. They need to hand themselves into the insane asylum ranking cod vanguard above ww2 when vanguard had one of the worst campaigns and mps and by far the worst ever zombies mode
Not to mention the fact that MWII 2022 was ranked higher than WWII, Black Ops IIII, Cold War, and MW3 2011. I think whoever made this list is at best, severely acoustic.

The original MW is actually perfect. The story was incredible, the multiplayer, although pretty barebones in terms of kill-streaks and gun mods, changed the landscape of gaming. It’s the best COD and one of the greatest FPS of all time.
Literally no. MW2 is miles better in terms of multiplayer.
@@mosstwig3591 maybe in terms of being faster paced and more arcadey but COD4 keeps the grounded style while keeping it barebones with minimal attachments/kill streaks. To each their own but I prefer the slower style of MW1

@@mosstwig3591so much better. Literally the best multiplayer fps of all time. Bo1 is my goat but mw2 2009 easily had the best multiplayer and I wouldn’t even think twice about it.
@@robbiecasado5356 yes, I prefer more ground military action. COD4 was the last game before it went all Michael Bay on us. They’re not bad but COD4 is a more grounded shooter while the other focus on fast paced, killstreak focused gameplay.
BO2 will always have a special place in my heart
Why oh why hasn’t any COD game since BO2 at least copied some of that game’s mechanics? It was the best game in COD imo and a duplicate would at least have been better than the other games since then.

Black Ops 2 had the best customization options for multiplayer.
I wondered where World at War is and at least it is in the top 5. It is my fav CoD game (although I have to admit I didn't play any of the more modern ones).
Modern warfare 1 to black ops 2 is when cod was at its peak. Some brilliant games in that time with black ops 1 being my favourite. Activision should remaster that, they would make a killing

Tbh my favorite is BO2, but I’ll never forget the night I got the first black ops, and booted it up to see the zombies mode, immediately clicking it, of course, and getting so freaked out by the zombie behind the glass that I had to turn it off for a minute
I will defend Vanguard with my dying breath. Sam Maggs is a great writer, Chiké Okonkwo makes a convincing leader as Arthur, you have Laura freaking Bailey using her likeness, and a Nazi gets punched in the face. I think it's a great CoD campaign. I loved it.

The only time I played ghosts was with a friend who bought an Xbox and it was packaged with ghost. The weird thing about ghost is that I feel like it never ever went on sale i think the cheapest I’ve ever seen it priced was 44.99 and that was pretty recent. I always thought that was weird. I remember the lead up to the MW remaster the PS store had tons of COD deals but every package with ghost was at least 89.99, IE blacks ops 3 and ghost for 89.99. By itself it had a deal for a deluxe edition for 59.99 marker down from 79.99. Even now the home edition is the cheapest available in the PS store and it’s 59.99, the other version is the Hardened version and that’s 99.99. MW2 remaster is like 20 bucks. I’m pretty sure Ghosts has been out for ten years and every other big AAA franchise game has had huge sales, look at horizon zero dawn, god of war, Witcher 3 complete edition, can be bought for $20 or less at times, hell, w my PlayStation + subscription I can stream horizon and god of war. The ghost price point never really going on sale is strange.
Original MW3 forever slept on - sick campaign that capped off the story, fun survival and spec ops mode, MP waa like mw2 but a bit more balanced & they supported it with a lot of new modes and maps throughout its life cycle
COD 3 that low, that’s my childhood game. I don’t agree with that at all, it’s a great game.
if only theyd fix the RCE exploits in MW2 multiplayer, then you could still play that gem to this day :/

Mw 2019 I couldn't play mutilpayer for weeks as the game kept crashing as I played on xbox
Mw3 was great imo mw and mw2 multiplayer were the best I’ve ever played as I’m not an online gamer anymore I really enjoyed 3s campaign

Big red one, world at war, the modern warfare series (original) was a thing to play and see through. Ghost was eh to me and infinite warfare was killzone want to be

Ghosts was dope as hell and was for sure the best handling game that came out since MW2. Fight me.

The only real issue with Ghosts was the maps. Part of these ppl saying that Ghosts ttk was too fast while praising MW2's are hypocrites.
Bo1 is easily the most well rounded cod of all time which is why I have it as the goat. every single mode was fantastic. Bo1 multiplayer and those amazing base maps and especially dlc maps. IMO easily the best multiplayer maps of all time just bc those dlc maps were absolutely perfection. The bo1 Money system u could wager in party game modes was something they never did again but it was so so so great for cod. Zombies had 0 misses which u can’t say for every single zombies. Not a single zombies map was bad in bo1 and it was the real golden age of zombies. The campaign is easily the best in the franchise no argument and no debate. Not only is the story the best but u CANNONT tell me those bo1 missions aren’t the most fun out of all. Bo1 introduced theater mode and it was perfect. Bo1 introduced combat training and it was perfect. Bo1 sound track perfect. Bo1 introduced customizable emblems that made for the best laugh especially since it was the first cod to do it. Bo1 started the hype around Easter egg. Bo1 had everyone stats pop up at the bottom of ur screen in multiplayer. The multiplayer gunplay def wasn’t as great as bo2 multiplayer with is why I can understand why ppl have it over bo1 but im sorry if you don’t have bo1 as the cod goat YOU ARE WRONG……
Mw2 2009 is my favorite cod btw but I have to give bo1 the goat title. Mw2 multiplayer was the most fun and gunplay was the best of the series which is why it’s my fav. Ppl can say the same for bo2 but yeah bo1 the goat
30:40 I'm still annoyed they haven't allowed you to customized your loadout and perks in campaign in every game since COD BO2, it adds some replay values to the missions.
MW19 is literally the best COD, WAW being above it is ridiculous.

No, you’re not the only one. I liked the approach in the Vanguard campaign of playing each character’s back story in the different locations of WW2. Added a bit of variety.
This is the equivalent to ranking dwarfs from shortest to tallest and saying tallest is best, no one care

Cod Modern Warfare 1-3 & Black Ops 1&2 - Man what a time to be alive those games are just very nostalgic to my childhood and made my whole childhood.
I absolutely hated the Black Ops 3s campaign, but it has my favorite zombies

Campaign of BO3 is pure trash
I feel like CoD 1 was done dirty like sure its hard to compare due to the simplicty of it but i feel like it has passion and heart that the franchise hasn't had in years & is absolutely bettet than Ghosts, IW and WWII

1 - World at War
2 - MW2 (2009)
3 - Black ops 2
4 - Cod 4
5 - Black Ops 1
Black ops, to me, is a very medicore COD. Most guns gelt weak in terms of damage and visuals. I'd say it's on the bottom of the top 10 if not out altogether.
