Anyone else want to see this as a REAL broadway play? It’s so original and these songs are SOO GOOD! Only downside would be that if we want it to be a play we’d have to sacrifice a new season because broadway plays run for sooo long

I love every second, but can we also appreciate that in the show they build it up like Howard is going to step into the lead role and finally have his big moment and then it's Oliver.
The best twist of the this season was Oliver coming out as the detective!

My favorite thing about the final is that we don't just get a conclusion to who killed Ben, but also the reveal of the musical killer and plot.

The way the camera closes in on the Nanny as she emerges from the underground door is so cinematic. I absolutely love it

Meryl is utterly tremendous this season. Her and Martin had quality chemistry
For those who watched classic Barbie movies and felt somewhat familiar with Oliver’s sneering and singing voice, he voices the Preminger in Princess and the Pauper
It took me until this episode to finally realize that he was Preminger 😂 He had to sing for me to connect the dot ahhsgdgd
He also voices one of the priests in The Prince of Egypt, while the other one is voiced by Steve Martin
I remember when I found this out, it was wild

I love how when you compare the costumes here to what was in Death Rattle they’ve designed them to sparkle under the lights, it adds extra flair

A big thank you to the composer of these songs, who gave us one of the best Musical performance on TV this year.

The exaggerated acting from the show as a part of the comedy is so funny and ingenious
There's no reason for the sparkly crab-people to make me so happy, and yet they do.
Let's appreciate the fact they got Marc Shaiman to write the patter song and Sara Bareilles to write the lullaby.

I am Howard! When I was growing up I wanted to be on the stage, but I was too shy and found it wouldn’t work. But I truly enjoy Broadway and love the music and songs from the musicals. I would love to see this be made for real! 😍
I love how it was manufactured for Marty, Meryl, and Steve to all have songs in the play.
I was watching this last night (what a show to stumble on) and I was like wow Oliver's pretty spry for having a heart attack like 5 days prior.

My only criticism is they didn't have enough crab men. The lack of ensembles makes it look like a smaller show like the ones on off-broadway. Give us more crab men!!

I binge watched this show with my parents and I loved it!😆 I was NOT expecting to love it, when I was first heard about this show, I was like “okay”, but my parents got me hooked and I was very excited when it got renewed for a 4th season!😆

Martin Short will never get credit for how good of an actor he really is.
Agree. It takes a lot of skill to intentionally sing worse than you actually can. Most people don't realize it's hard to trick your brain like that but Steve Martin and Martin Short, who have decades of experience as singers, pulled it off expertly. In fact, this isn't even the first time that both sung together in the same movie, having starred in Prince of Egypt.

Y’know, now that I notice, this reminds me of season 4 of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, which conveniently was about “The Producers”! The show that was referenced heavily in one episode (and Martin Short starred in a production, with Nathan Lane, Teddy Dimas’ actor, playing the OG Bialystock) and even got a theory relating to the DeMeos

Almost everything in the show is in 3/4 time. It's a very emotional time sig (for European stock, anyway). Waltzes reach right in and get our heart. I wonder if it mimics the sound of a two heart beats overlapping, a mother's, and her unborn child.

Thank you for the heads up. Season 2 was so awful I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch season 3, but I adore Martin Short so I’m happy I got to watch this performance. I think nothing will be able to repeat the magic of season 1.
