Well it doesn't help that this is the second divorce... Also, as someone from a *newly* divorced household, Christmas can suck. It's not always two separate but equally enjoyable Christmases. Money can be tight, there's at least one spot less at the table, juggling phone calls and such so no one has to deal with their ex more than necessary, and just the overall experience of knowing this is the first Christmas without (insert person/s). That's what it can be like if the divorce is hard, which they all are difficult but I'm talking nasty divorces
Griffon announced they were divorcing in November 2017 and then it was finalized by April 2018. They've only been divorced once. Geoff was married and divorced before he married Griffon.

Michael is an interesting person and an example of why you can be the nicest guy and also an asshole. Because he has and will always be an asshole. But he is willing to talk to people and try and cheer them up when they are down despite sometimes being awkward and uncomfortable doing it.
