This has been a hard year for me. I've been on hormones the past year, battling dysphoria and trying so hard to live fully as my self. Arca's music speaks to me on another level, the same way SOPHIE's music does. I can only imagine the journey Arca has been on through her art, but I relate to it so much. I also found her inside and can't let go 😊
Ugh, Theres an unfillable void now that Sophie is no longer with us on Earth. But I’m so glad artists like Arca exist to carry the torch and rep the girls the way they deserve it.

thank u arca for this beauty of an art, ever since i was little i always knew i was the same as my sisters, as my mother, but i dont know what word to put it back then, the only thing i knew was that i am the same as them. in 5th grade things took a turn, all my girl friends could talk about is boys, and all the boys couldnt shut up about having sex with girls. they also pointed out the way i talk, how weird is my way of walking, and how i only play with girls, i feel odd for the first time. in 7th grade, my family move to a conservative small town, they put me in an all boy private islamic school, i wasnt happy but i couldnt complain either, all i remember was that it was the darkest time of my life. in 10th grade, we move back to our town, around that same time i try to put on make up for the first time, it wasnt much, just a little bit of mascara, a subtle red lipstick and a little bit of blush here and there. its confusing, it feels like a weight been lifted off my shoulder but at the same time another weight is put that is 10 times heavier, if im being honest i hate it, the fact that i could only wear make up in my room with locked door just to stare at myself for a few minutes then take it off, its depressing, i feel even more incomplete. im gonna be 20 next year, nothings change, i still live in a conservative muslim majority country, i can not see things changing for better in the future, i would love to transition but i love my family more, i wouldnt do that to them, they sacrificed so much for me. but artist like u gives me an escape, i feel like i am a woman when im listening to ur music, i feel whole, i feel complete. through ur music i could finally feel her, the woman within me, that despite all the torture she still here alive within my body, a butterfly inside a cacoon. im still looking for that miracle, i hope that someday i could finally meet her. thank u, our beloved arca
