    From this race to his last, he made it look easy. Wish I had seen him run in the flesh. What an athlete.

    Who ever saw, or heard of, a horse performing in this manner while, basically, still learning to run???

    Seems Secretariat leaned on the back of the gate and broke slow from the beginning of his career, and still managed to set records and win with comfortable margins. If instead he had fast, clean starts, would he theoretically have been capable of shattering his own record times?? He broke relatively well in the Belmont, and look what happened ...

    Secretariat...simply the best. Since being a little foal, it is said that Secretariat was different from the rest. He was more independant than the other horses, more mature, more intelligent. His owner had big expectations, but he never imagined he was THAT kind of horse, he never imagined he had The Greatest Racehorse Of All Time

    Yes, he did. Don't know if you're aware of this but Eddie Sweat died penniless. Very sad story. :(
