    I stayed in the hotel across the road from Bank Quay a few years ago, for work, and I'm glad trains are a sight quieter now than then! But then I also worked into the Royal Mail railhead just up from there, and the sound of 47s powering up and pulling out of the same shed you're stood in, is something I'm glad I experienced!

    Still a brake van on Arpley yard! Must have been redundant by then? It was all about coal MGR traffic, now long gone.

      Yes I gave the place a visit last year on my way to Scotland....still quite full but only saw one train in an hour....many thanks Steven and best regards...Mark
