I love so much videos like this where the narrator not only showcases the end result, but also explains his idea behind the some sort of craft stuff and gives advices for newbies! Very interesting and helpful!
1:43 I actually know a work around to the head spraypaint issue. If you put on a brush on gloss clearcoat first(I would assume any producer works, but I can 100% confirm that army painter gloss varnish works) and then give a spray coat on top of that, it will cure perfectly fine
Really nice work. I use the Vallejo paint and army ones too. Use the same Matte finish spray paint myself. For the details I use a magnifying glass with a built-in light. Really helps me. Worth the 40 bucks or so it costs. Keep up the great work.
That ODST looks great! You made so many great details on it, I really like it :) I tried painting a LS3D stormtrooper helmet not too long ago, but it wasn’t near as good as what you can do. Great job!
Dude this is pretty sweet! What I suggest is either pressing the figure or your hand holding the figure against your desk, because I noticed some of the time you were just holding it (I think). It'll help stabilize and keep your details fine 😁👍
I feel like this makes some lore, this is the same character as your sig-fig before he became a spartan 4. also realized you had my (planned0 sig-fig in the background (the red scout with commando shoulders from the ufo custom pack)
nice color choice and good application but i have to agree with one of the other comments, could use a primer coat first to give the paint something to adhere to, it'll rub off over time without, i know from personal experience... otherwise idk what that comment is complaining about spray paint for, is cheaper than name branded model kit paints and still effective, also, a LOT of model creators use it as a base since it covers good and easy the top coat will help it from rubbing off for the most part anyway, not sure what exactly that was at the end that made it shiny but i kinda liked it more with the matte colors after what i assume was the brown dry wash all in all loved it minus needing that primer coat again, good choice of colors
Well, if you layer the sealer enough, you'll be fine without primer. The green Spartan/ODST you see as an example has 0 primer and the paint is holding up very very nicely. Sealer is key! Without it, it all falls apart
yeah the sealer can make up for it, i had one of the same odst's, which I'm now realizing this is a pod odst and I'm slightly upset since it's more unique and not the other tan odst's that are super cheap and don't have the extra chest details but anyway i had one of the cheap tan odst's that i painted black and grey for the halo 3 odst colors, and it started rubbing off without the primer coat or top coat
I used tamiya paints on LS3D parts and mega standard figures and the paint only slightly wore off in areas of friction but it was extremely minimal. Idk if primer is necessary.
I just use normal Krylon spray paint. And for paint, you can get away with not thinning with most of the higher end brands like testors, though after this project, I've learned that it might be worth learning how to thin
Why didn't you prime your model? A primer gives the paint something to stick to and why did you spray paint? You could have gotten citadel paint or any other main brands

Glad you enjoyed it! My goal is to give viewers ideas on how to do this stuff themselves

Ohhh I might have to try that
This guy is a lot better in quality than mine. Maybe I have to invest in vallejo and citadel paints😅
Honesty I’d much rather recommend tamiya paint although I have not used the latter.
Good paints go a long way!
@@DemarcationMedia I tried using an airbrush with my cheap paint, and it helps getting the clean coat! Thanks for the inspiration!
Great video once again, another demarcation classic
Thanks for the support!
Wow a 2nd demarcation customs video. Its nice seeing your great work

I do actually have a magnifying glass and light combo, but I've not gotten used to using it
@DemarcationMedia my eyes aren't great so it really helps me.
Good work, man! It looks good! You definitely should do more of these
Thank you!
It is so much improvement from the original demarcation's customs
It's one of the most involved for sure
That ODST looks great! You made so many great details on it, I really like it :)

thank you so much for this i needed this man love your channel youre the best man

I do that sometimes--I just didn't for some of this video because the camera was in between me and the desk XD
@@DemarcationMedia Ohh I gotchu
Now you should add a painted weapon and a backpack
Definitely
I sadly don't have an extra pack but I do want to do a weapon for him
@@DemarcationMediadoesn’t ls3d make odst backpacks
@@DavidDanielProductions True, he does!
I thought the sticky Mega heads was just me. Sometimes im not good at spraypainting, like im too close or use too much. Anyway this looks sick!
That can do it too, layered spraypaint doesn't dry well. But it does also soften the rubbery plastic
Good info! I’ve made a few customs and I can use this info for my future ones. Don’t spray paint the heads.
Yep, it will ruin the head XD
@@DemarcationMedia I’ve ruined a lot of figures by accident and never realized why
Well done man! Looks really good😌👍
Thanks!
I am about to start making customs when I get my desk
Dew it!
Looking good!
Shouldve made his boots look muddy, like on the bottom and a little messy going up the leg, but i yhink the qashes look awesome
I did a little, though painting that on more directly might have been more visible

And yeah that Scout is nice
happy 11k ❤

One thing I just found out is that Krylon Colormax Primer does not ruin mega Construx heads
What spray paint do you use and is there a certain brand you don't need to thin the paint?
I just use normal Krylon spray paint. And for paint, you can get away with not thinning with most of the higher end brands like testors, though after this project, I've learned that it might be worth learning how to thin
please make a video on how to fix the halo mega hand problem
Which problem?
I do the same thing. I get in a hurry and smear wet paint
It's SO easy to do
sup zee did u my comment from the previous falcon sweep video u uploaded?
Yeah I replied to it
Nooooo mans used enamel paint on the vizor😅
XD Oh, was that a nono?
Why didn't you prime your model? A primer gives the paint something to stick to and why did you spray paint? You could have gotten citadel paint or any other main brands
I never prime my figures, and I never need to with the paints I use. And I explained why I used spraypaint in the video
@@DemarcationMedia and never use spray paint you could have used macragge blue it would have gave you a better look
Spraypaint is a very solid, low cost option
@@DemarcationMedia no it's not
@@AVeryAngryIronWarrior You are entitled to your opinion, however not everyone can afford the pricey model paints
Where’s the new vid you said
?
Your not entirely correct about painting mega odst heads you can get them to be not sticky.
With spraypaint, you cannot. If you use normal paint, yes. Spraypaint eats away at the soft plastic and keeps it tacky.
@@DemarcationMediaI prime my ODST heads and allow them to dry for 48 hours
Do the same for my flood forms because i use rubbery pieces and they stay rubbery and my paint doesn't flake or crack.
If you use primer, then maybe the spraypaint would be fine. However, the paint/primer mixes still leave the heads tacky
