✶ Outstanding video. Informative, clear, detailed without being overly confusing. A great place to start if you’re new to painting / customizing MCX Halo figures like I am.
Honestly, I love the way how you did my favorite figure in this, though I really wished I have one with me right now, and the figure itself leaves a lot to be desired for being painted on, as it needs some more details, and you happen to nail it just right with this figure. Great job man! I’d love to get one someday!
Looks good! Ive painted my funko pops and action figures. I recently pulled my old Halo blocks outta storage and wanted to make a giant battleground. I wanted to paint a lot of the figures and such and found your channel. Figure looks great! I recognize that orange Atlantis sticker! I guess you're probably local to me. I love Atantis, great shop. Again, well done!
I washed, i sanded, i primed, yet the paint easily smudged after it dries. I use high polyester paintt from sheik mainland...does acrylic stick better to the figure? Im new to model painting and really need help on this.
I have a few questions: do I need to sand any of the paint off before priming? Can I use solvent based acrylic like Mr. Color? If I need the citadel paint where is the best place to get it?
Can you provide a link to what paints you used? Also did you only use base paints for the main (not detail) paints? One more thing- Wow, you paint so well!!!!
You can add a simple varnish to your figures. I'd recommend a Matte Varnish for Halo reach/ODST figures. When spraying varnish do it outside or in a ventilated area!
Another tutorial thanks !! I feel that your technique is getting better ;) So you don't use varnish in the end ? Isn't it a problem with the joints scratching off paint ?
You can use a varnish at the end to help prevent it. However if you shave down the joints prior to painting it, it will help significantly with scratching/rubbing off.
Great video! Just one question, what if i just wanted to paint a small section of my figures without getting the coating spray all over the area i don’t want to mess up besides that small section? Like my figure’s wrist or something like that
Do you think black washing an Active Camo Master Chief a good idea? Or would panel lining do the trick? I just find it so hard to photograph the figure since it's transluscent, and also, it's difficult to appreciate it's details.
If you wanna paint over active camo, I'd suggest priming them completely. Without primer, the paint will have a harder time sticking to the plastics. See literally any diorama building video for people talking about that. If you black wash active camo, the paint might not fill properly, plus well...defeats the purpose of it being mostly translucent, but they do make great custom starters since they have no inherent color to begin with.
I like how your painting makes the figure’s details stand out more. He looks less like a toy and more like a real Spartan from Reach
please make more of these there a lot of help
I love your toutorials
I am very excited!
Edit: I made this myself and it is amazing, I already did lots of customs, but they didn’t even come close to the quality of yours!

This video gave me anxiety but it was worth it because the figure looked INCREDIBLE!! So satisfying seeing you painting it nice and done.

Also could you do a video painting a Covenant/Banished figure?
In my previous video I made a banished brute figure!
That's an amazing figure, also great video. It helped me make my first custom figures
I made a banished brute minor of my own design
HOLY COW
Amazing!
What’s your opinion on opaque paint markers? I was told that paint markers are good too.
I have personally never used them so I can't really comment on them.
@@videogamecollector1179 Oh ok fair enough then

I would always recommend acrylic paint. It adheres to primer the best!

I recommend citadel stormshield
How do you paint the elbow joint? I've tried painting a Red Mark 4 but the elbow joint's paint keeps chipping away everytime I move that joint.
What piece do you use to hold the shoulder pads and head with

@@videogamecollector1179 how do you shave joints on mega construx? Im having an issue where the elbow joint rips the paint off
Eres un crack! Felicidades

You can maybe tape it off or maybe hand paint the small area
How would you install the primer my primer came out thick
