As one who suffered from severe ingrown hairs and bumps in my youth, 35 years ago a gentleman advised me not to shave vertically(up or down), but horizontality (front to back, toward the ear). At 60 I still have a smooth even skin tone, no pits no pocks, no bumps. The best advice I ever got in a saloon that, and "don't get married".CVS now has generic blades for the Mach 3 I have been using for over 10 years.

This is the best product I ever had shaved my face with - period! Its like you feel its not shaving but yet it does indeed.
I've never felt any smoother. And the reddish 'ekseema-like skin after shaving is completely gone! I also use the new sensitiv foam from gilette. Five stars all the way to Gilette!

@@kenwaid8239 I'm always amused when people bring up flat earth. Lets see how consistent you are, do you really believe in evolution, because equality isn't a thing under that theory at all, it simply doesn't exist. Been noticing this forced meme push against the "flat earth" a fringe group of a tiny group of youtubers dug up by the establishment to punch down trying to lay claim on science again because they don't have creationists to kick around anymore, and genetics and evolution no longer fit their favored narrative, in fact it goes against it in the most dangerous way. The Gillette Skin Guard is a great way to shave!
Especially if you have course, curly hair.
Personally and I'm talking about myself here now, I found that pressing the razor on my face was a main cause of the irritation that I was experiencing.
It wasn't until after prepping my face and letting the heft of the blade do the work that my shaves became smoother and less irritating.
Gillette's Skin Guard is the best way to shave on a semi-regular basis to avoid razor bumps and or skin irritation!

I have used schick hydro 5's for close to a decade and they have always been a great shave. Each blade lasts up to 4 weeks so its good value for money overall. I finally decided to give the Gillette 5 blade system a go because it was on sale for half price and was wondering how it compares to the schick and the first shave was amazing but the second was not as good and by the 3rd shave the blades where dragging and leaving nicks and irritating my skin. So given the blades cost more than the Schick 5 blade system on average it's a lousy product. I'll be sticking to my Schick blades and a week later the bulk packs where on sale for half price so now I have over a years worth of blades in my draw so ill not be trying anything else for a long time now :)

I really like your video's. And your voice is relaxing to listen to.
Here in Denmark, Gillette is far to expensive, even though i got the one you showed with the electric handle. And its okay, but i use an electronic razor from OBH Nordic or a Phillips, you can take them in the shower and just put them into the charger when i am done.
Sorry for the long comment. Have a great day 👋🌞

I've been thinking of switching to a DE safety razor, but as far as cartridges go, this is my best all around performer so far. It doesn't shave as close as the proglide, but I can take it both with and against the grain with no problems, and I have relatively sensitive skin.

    • @misterlexx2721
      @misterlexx2721 2 года назад

Do you normally do 2 passes with a 5 blade like the Proglide, or just 1 with the grain.

The DE, merkur 34C coupled with a Gillette Nacet, or platinum blade give me the closest and comfortable shave. Those shaving gurus on RUclips taught me how to use them.

As an African American male I was super excited when they razor came out, since it doesn't take the hair under the skin I was excited to be able to be able to get a close shave again, well it FAILED! Im actually sitting here with 32 (Yes I counted them) 32 ingrown hairs on my face as I type this, it absolutely did not work for me, I noticed on the Gillette RUclips video that has a black guy using this razor the comments are disabled, I WONDER WHY!!? and its the Gillette RUclips channel, thats very shady, will never buy Gillette products again.

Ermas Doodles Highly HIGHLY suggest you use a safety razor, the single razor sharp blade cuts hairs clean off no tugging or pulling. With the right technique (not difficult) you can get a close shave with no irritation. Not to mention they’re WAY cheaper than cartridge razors.

I have sensitive skin and years ago switch to the old double edge safety razor and will never switch back! Once you learn the contours of you’ve face, it works better than any overpriced multi-blade razor out there at a fraction of the cost!!!

What Gillette should do is create a suction device that pulls the hair out of the hole, and back towards the surface without irritation. Maybe with a soft and, replaceable clear rubber tip that alows a UV light to shine through.
