These comments make me so sad saying she was a “coward” or that she was “selfish”, mental health is a real thing and this story is very sad. You don’t have to agree with me but it’s science , and who are we to judge this woman you are not God, it is our responsibly to love and respect each other not to judge. I hope that this family finds light in these dark times and that people stop being so cruel and cold.

I have never witnessed a person die in front of me. I can't imagine days or weeks of experiencing that. It's not like a movie. It's real trauma and life changing to a person's mind and soul. I imagine these healthy care workers may have PTSD and future nightmares that they can't save their patients in time and reliving that horror. On top of medical workers being heroes, let's not forget mental health professionals who are going to be much needed now more than ever.

Multiply the numbers for six weeks nonstop. These people are hurting. I pray for a respite to their pain.

Why aren't we doing more for our health care worker's. We need them. They are working so hard for us. I'm so, so sorry. I couldn't imagine how heart broken you are. I'm so sorry! We love you! I love you and I'm thankful everyday for you.

I know that had to be the most difficult decision she's ever had to make. I believe she simply didn't want to suffer or be isolated from her family. Who knows? I probably would've done the same thing. Years ago, a friend of mine killed himself because he thought he had AIDS.

I wish people who dont care or understand depression would not give their cold comments on here. Your brain is a ORGAN THAT CAN GET SICK FROM VIRUS OR INFECTIONS just as your heart, lungs , kidneys, so please try to understand that people who are going through this are not doing it to hurt anyone , THEY ARE IN PAIN . No one tells someone having a heart attack or appendicitis to stop feeling sorry for yourself ,or snap out of it, or try to lay a load of guilt on them .

It is certain that wen someone is sick to an extent where one is not able to function properly it affects the mind and brain naturally ...this is from an experience as I had been sick for 6 years myself ... but in this case wat makes it more severe is she certainly must be disappointed that being a doctor she couldn’t help the patient as mch as she would like due to the lack of facilities, overflow of patients and lastly contracting the disease herself .May her soul Rest In Peace.💙

I wish her co-workers, doctors and family who are intimately involved in medicine could have recognized the signs of her suffering and helped her more. She wasn't ready to return to work after her covid19 diagnosis, a paralyzing meltdown then at work should have gotten her immediate help in New York, and clearly it was too soon for release from UVA. If someone is intent on killing themselves they will succeed, but it seems like her persona completely changed and her need for help was hidden and overpowered by the strong person she had previously been. So extremely tragic.

I can see why no Dr or health care person in general would not have or take time to seek help. My question is given the fact that the virus cuts our oxygen is that maybe why so many don't seen to know or realize they are still ill or they have had a lack of oxygen severe enough to cause slight but lasting damage? I have heard of people saying they did go to a Dr when they didn't and they had done things they would never otherwise do. SO Scary.

I feel sorry for their loss. The doctor might have really been stressed out. It's really hard to work and focus when there's illness. When I had a flu this February, I got 1 week high fever with headache , chest pain and would have suddenly have difficulty breathing. I would wake up and still see hallucinations. After a week, I got easily tired, sweat a lot and thought that I was being lazy. Arms hurt a lot. After a month, I can stand and walk without getting tired and no pain, I realized what's normal and what's fatigue/sick so stopped blaming myself for being useless. I sleep normally now and no hallucinations after waking up.

I don't think people realize just how overwhelmed healthcare workers can get. On a GOOD day, we are overworked and have a hard time getting everything completed. You add COVID to the situation, and it can easily become too much to handle. You are dealing with a surge of patients and a decrease in healthcare workers because 1) the employees get sick and become quarantined or 2) they get scared and quit working. The hours are long and everyone is doing doubles to begin with. Plus, healthcare workers already have an increased risk of suicide to begin with. On top of it all, the country has become brutally mean to the nurses and doctors. I've seen protesters treat protesting nurses like crap by calling them the "viruses" and that the nurses are the problem. All of this is just insane and can be too much. PTSD can also be a very real issue.

My husband works at the same ER as this beautiful lady and dedicated doctor worked. He is very sad about this he says she was one of the best doctors at that ER she cared deeply for her patients. He is also very overwhelmed with everything, the stories I hear when he comes home are horrible. So are mine. So I can tell you first hand this unfortunately is very real. I am a nurse myself and I can tell you this is no joke. I cannot understand who on earth would not take this seriously right now! God help us all!

    Something doesn’t seem right here🤔
Many nurses have had decreased hours due to few patients?
Even Er Doctors have spoken regarding the decrease of patients.
Sounds like a burnt out from stress...and perhaps she actually saw what was being hidden from the public.
Many Doctors said patients died from other medical problems and not 🦠 however, big 💰to hospitals and insurance companies if 🦠 was on the death certificate.
Sorry for the family and their loss.
