- In this video I go over Michigan losing out on both of their remaining transfer portal targets as Pat Coogan and Rocco Spindler are out of the equation for Michigan. I also go over a busy weekend for Michigan football as they hosted multiple top 2026 and 2027 targets and a lot of them were very impressed with their visits. Plus, Michigan is gearing up for a big commitment soon as Ty Haywood is set to announce his decision tomorrow. I also go over key takeaways from Michigan basketball's key road win over Rutgers on Saturday, what Dusty May said postgame, and more!! If you guys have any questions or thoughts, make sure to leave them in the comment section below. Go Blue!!

UPDATE: Ty Haywood is expected to announce his decision on Wednesday, February 5th on signing day. No decision is expected tomorrow
Lets land haywood and continue to have a great basketball season. GO BLUE!!!!!〽️〽️〽️
Clearly UM made less effort to land the ND OLs since tomorrow we will land Ty Haywood, who along with Babs and our returning studs from the Reliaquest Bowl win, should set UM up for a better 2025-26. Happy for the ND dudes who really wanted starting roles we could NOT guarantee them. Go Blue! 💙💪💙
I feel like if Michigan truly knew they needed them, they would have easily been able to get them but the coaches would have had to go out of their way. Pat Coogan was the only one who would have actually started since he also started at Notre Dame.
I feel like them canceling their visits might have been a blessing in disquise; The coaches seem locked in to get 2026 recruits and are really going through these prospects.
Agreed - 2026 players are a far better long-term investment. It’s clearly the preferred direction for HC Moore and team…
Agreed, they were guards, not really needed
Look, I'm good with the OL depth chart as it stands going into spring:
LT - Link/Frazier/Babalola
LG - Efobi/Hatter/Gach
C - Crippen/Guarnera/Strayhorn
RG - El-Hadi/Hamilton/Roebuck
RT - Sprague/Norton/(Ty Haywood?)
Yes, it would've been nice to add another experienced, versatile player like Coogan but he isn't that great and the coaches are wanting to get some of their younger guys some playing time. They'll find a starter at left guard between Efobi, Hatter, and Norton. Link could even move inside to guard if someone else steps up at tackle.
If Haywood was still committed to bama, he'd be a top 2 or 3 offensive tackle and a 5 star yet. The recruiting sites couldn't knock down Underwood when he decommitted from LSU because he was number 1 for so long under an sec school. Would've been too obvious.
Thank-You For Update "Brother"
@@jeffreyross-zb8cz You bet! Go Blue!
2nd in the B10 sounds beautiful, sadly we have been underperforming lately but we are getting the job done. Would love to see us do better than Michigan State. They are built for basketball so beating them in football isnt really a challenge. Being better in Football and Basketball would be a dream.
Basketball is doing great, Football is doing great, love seeing the coaches active before spring practice like this.
I am just scared because of Ty Haywood. The money wasn't the only reason we landed Bryce. It was also the proximity to home. Texas Tech might have the final push. I am not very scared about Florida State.
@@WeLoveSheroneMoore Yessir! Glad to have the basketball program back doing good. Looking forward to seeing how far they can go in March
Without sounding petty, never cared for ND. We'll find more OL men this spring. Go Blue!〽️🏈💛💙
@@fall4ever True that lol. Hopefully we can add another OL and WR in the spring. But altogether, the coaching staff did a good job fulfilling their needs from the portal and also not overspending on players. That seems to be the reason why Michigan didn’t get Spindler because they didn’t want to overpay the market value for him
@ Excellent point!!〽️
GoBlue!!👍😎〽️
LT- Link, Frazier
LG- El Hadi, *Haywood
C- Crippen, Guarnera
RG- Hattar OR Efobi
RT- Sprague, Norton
Still would like them to nab a tackle in the spring period. It would give them the ability to kick Link inside to guard and Efobi to center.
Rocco and the guy’s girlfriend attending Indiana were tough! Personally, Rocco dissed us twice in my opinion! Notre Dame, those guys are soft! A very good school though!

@@MichaelLong-l1t Go Blue!
On point MST, thanks for your update 👍🏾
I don't understand guys that choose schools like Indiana and Nebraska over Michigan. You're not going to win at a high level at those schools. I know money talks but I don't get how there isn't more of a balance between winning at a high level and still getting paid.
I don't want to hear hosted I want ink.😂 Lol
I listen to your podcast regularly and I like your reporting. One potential disagreement I have is regarding the two lineman from Notre Dame. There’s a strong possibility that they wanted to go go in the portal to get much more money than Notre Dame was willing to give them in the NIL program. Therefore, they could’ve demanded much more than they were worth and more than Sharon Moore was willing to give them. So it’s very possible that Sharon Moore will find others that would take their place. After all, they were probably only be backups for Michigan and they were probably told that by Sharon Moore also. I trust coach Moore. Michigan now seems to go after the people they really want and pay them top dollar, example , Bryce Underwood. There are still opportunities to pick up second or third team lineman and I’m sure coach Moore will succeed.
@@LarryJudson-n8p I do think that’s what happened as well, especially with Spindler. I don’t think Michigan was willing to overpay for either of them
@@LarryJudson-n8p For sure, UM won’t pay top NIL for a one year rental. As another commenter and our host, MST has reported, the NIL investment strategy at UM is new recruit focused on those who fit their “Team Over Me” culture. Sheron is building a loyal base of good fits who truly believe in “those who stay will be champions,” are will place team needs over personal aspirations. Go Blue!!!
Actually to me if seems like the basketball team is not learning to protect the ball.
They're very careless with it
@@stevepearson4522 It’s definitely an issue that hopefully will get fixed, but we’ve been saying that for a while now. If they get that fixed they could be a very special team
Go Blue!
The ball team is frustrating to watch. They have so much raw talent but they can’t do the basics. Rebounds, free throws, and turnovers kill them.
Agree. Guard play right now isnt good enough to make a deep run.
Wolf and Vlad are always in foul trouble
And Wolf turns the ball over too much.
W video I will be here forever
@ShugglesD I appreciate that!
I'm good with not getting the ND linemen. Michigan will roll with Michigan Men! GO BLUE
#GoBlue
The b-ball team is night and day compared to last season.
Unfortunately, I dont think our guard play is good enough to make a deep run in the tourneys. Donaldson and Gayle turn the ball over to much and are lacking in the ability to get teammates involved. Trey cant attack the hoop and Gayle is a terrible outside shooter. Nimari is almost too small for the Big10, even though I like his game. This has led to Danny Wolf dribbling and handling the ball too much on the perimeter.
Team is so close to putting it together, but they get in their own way with bad or rushed shots, turnovers, missed FTs.
Team needs more discipline by the coaching staff, imo.
Wolf is the turnover machine
The biggest problem Sherron Moore has to address is number “52”!🤔
I didn’t that the ND linemen were a reality due to their ineligibility for Spring Ball.
The crazy thing babs kid is still a 5*, and On3 said he was still raw, so why did they drop Haywood? When he is clearly far better at this point 🤨
I assume they were told they'd have to earn their spot 😤
We need Haywood. Who needs ND linemen. I hope we do get some surprises on signing day. Yes, Michigan did a great job on Bailey. I wish they could tighten up on the turnovers. Still fun to watch. Thanks for the update.
Go Blue!
@@richhopson6063 Yeah if they could fix the turnovers they could be a special team and make a deep run in March. They aren’t playing anywhere near their potential right now and they’re still pulling out wins, so that is a good sign. Just hope they start to click soon, especially with the tough games coming up
@@MichiganSportsTalk
Agree, can't wait for March.
Typical of us. We seem to try and do everything too seriously.
I wish we got one of those 2 offensive lineman in the portal. they would've probably started
The film shows we didnt want or need anything from notre lame
The two ND linemen just played for a national championship and now they betray their team! There are character issues with both of them! 🥲
