英文: You can eat whatever you want 。。。你明白是❓
For 你想吃什么就吃什么
the teacher gave the English word-for-word translation as:
"you want eat what then eat what"
where "then" means "just go ahead" or "you are permitted" or "you can".
So the given translation "you can eat whatever you want" is correct.
For 你能吃什么就吃什么
I would give the translation as:
"If you can eat something, then eat it"
At first, your English is also wrong ,unfortunately .... " You want ( to ) eat ...." , right ??? I can not comprehend what you hope to talk to or remark ...
@@Ritmo888 You are right: "you want eat" is not correct English. But "you want eat what then eat what" is the teacher's word-for-word translation, which is just a guide, and is not a correct English sentence.

English and Chinese are two different languages，they have different grammatical structures. So the English translations in some Chinese teaching videos are actually made to help learners understand the Chinese stuff

@@Ritmo888 konbangwa, 汉语和英文是完全不同的语言，不同的structure，不同的language habit, so the translations is just made to help understand, it's so hard to translate 100% accurately
Certainly.the translation from Chinese to English is seemed to be too difficult for others ... but in my case,because it's almost unnecessary to add English translation.....
