I’m lucky enough to live in whitstable, I’ve been here since 1995 and I’m still classed as a DFL ( down from London ) , very quaint town . Wheelers , the neptune , the Tudor tea room and VC Jones are a must .

Can’t beat a blustery walk on the cobbles all wrapped up snug. Shame about the chip shop but they always are busy there. If you go back Jones fish shop is definitely (!) worth waiting in the queue for and it is definitely a different vibe when the sun shines x

Whitstable has changed for the worse. Most locals will agree it’s been gentrified for tourists and Londoners ( us locals call the DFLs) . It will soon be a ghost town full of empty handed second homes and holiday homes and this is pushing locals out. Thank you Londoners for completely ruining my hometown of whitstable.

Hi keiran, I'm sorry to hear that. is it not great that tourism provides a lot of jobs and income to the area? a lot of seaside towns were struggling over the past decades before of international travel. would love to hear your thoughts! x

@@SophiesSuitcase it’s good for economy but awful for us that live here all year round when we get swamped by tourists and day trippers. Locals have been pushed out and priced out down to second homes
