  • The Motels self-titled debut album was released on this date in 1979. Antenna TV was lucky enough to speak to Martha Davis (vocalist/guitarist) about the formation of The Motels during the Lost 80's Live stop at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL. What's your favorite Motels song?

It is hard for me to believe that in this year of 2022 that there are only 9 comments here on youtube for Martha Davis. This woman was so influential and sensual singer earlier on. I started listening to her voice I believe back in 1986 or so. Her music is what I always took with me in my desert adventures. Such a wonderful voice. I felt I had the privelige when later on in life I got to watch her once again in a small bar in southern cal at around 2005 and she alone performed and sang so well, These are my memories of an extra ordinary singer. I am so happy that here she is in this 2019 interview. Love you Martha, and thank you for what you gave me!

Well It's 2023. I Was Watching Bands Reunited From 2004. Martha Looked Great. The Motels Were A Awesome Band. Only The Lonely Was Truly A Classic 80's Song.

I was at work and one of my employees played "Only the lonely" on her spotify. I have not heard of that song in such a long time. Decades it has been. It took me right back to the mid 80's

I agree, the background music usually does ruin interviews.
