- The Yorkshire Dales is home to outstanding scenery, a rich cultural heritage and a breathtakingly peaceful atmosphere. At its heart are three very special Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Forest of Bowland and scenic Nidderdale.

I'am Dutch, I have travelled over whole Europe, Yorkshire still my favorite!!!
And I'am German and agree, having travelled Yorkshire in my beloved old prewar british car, an Alvis from 1938 !
I'm proud to be a Yorkshire man welcome
I am from yorkshire, have travelled to 29 countries, Andorra and Liechtenstein and my favourite people outside Brtain are Dutch.
I live in Harrogate in North Yorkshire.
Just short of three years ago we had the UCI world cycling championships here and the Dutch contingent were the most memorable. Your people made an encampment in the woods just north of the centre, with their motor caravans, and made a lot of friends here. They dressed in bright orange outfits, police men and beefeaters. They were a lot of fun, great sense of humour.
We are 3 Americans who have traveled extensively, but I can truly say that we all left our hearts in Yorkshire.
Where do you live in America ?
You guys are always welcome In yorkshire

East Yorkshire and proud! Kingston upon Hull born and raised. Living in Somerset now but I still carry the white rose in my heart
Midnight Fox, don't Somerset County Cricket Club have the white rose as their badge, like Yorkshire CCC
The wife and I recently returned from our first trip to England last week, which included a tour through the Dales National Park. We are so thankful to have experienced the beauty of this great land and the warmth and kindness of its people. We were prepared to be charmed but had no idea that Yorkshire was so wonderful in so many different ways. We are already plotting our next adventure in the Northland of England, and are grateful to the great people of England for everything (we are from NC in USA).
I am miserable. I live in Australia but have always known I wanted to live in Britain. My father came from Halifax. We visited the Dales in September 2017 and thankfully my husband fell in love with the place as much as I did.
The hope of living here when my husband retires and the children have fledged is what keeps me going. We are in the midst of the worst heatwave since records began with no significant end in sight. I love cold weather (it gets down to -7c overnight here in Winter) and the Winters are so short, as are Autumn and Spring. Summer lasts for about 6 months now which is a huge change that has happened in the last 20 years or so.
Husband got bitten by the world’s 2nd most venomous snake last year but survived. Won’t miss the snakes at all. Won’t miss anything much except some of the people and family.
wish i could live in Australia bruh just want to try it out im to used to england
Mindrolling Australians will always have a welcome in Yorkshire 👍
bavaria46 I know: people were just lovely. I cried when we left!
I live in Canada , Yorkshire is and always will be my home. I want to go home now.
And here I am wanting to move from the UK to Australia
Best county in England by a mile. I live in York and love it.
Lucky you...I've been to York like almost 23/24 years back and it was beautiful indeed...
I used to go to York quite a bit but I lost interest in the place a little bit I prefer the countryside in Yorkshire.
I wood to visit your country . I think a lot about it hear in Tennessee
As a man from Los Angeles, this landscape takes my breath away. I hope one day I can travel to this part of England.
Do it, you'll love it. Hire a car (not too large, most roads there are tiny) because there's little public transport and a car will get you to places you won't see otherwise. Tourist Information offices in places like Skipton, Grassington, Leyburn, Settle, & Richmond will help you find overnight accommodation easily. Be prepared to explore - People are friendly & will help you find your way. And bring a camera or no-one will believe what you've seen ! :)
You will be warmly welcomed.
Even though I now live in Calgary I’m still a proud Yorkshire man and love my county!! Yorksha yorksha yorksha!!!
We live in North Yorkshire and always have, we love it ~ having traveled we must say we love Canmore not too far from you and stunning with great beer at the Grizzley Paw 😂
The English countryside is stunningly beautiful and its inhabitants
very welcoming.👍👍👍👏👏👏
I am very happy to say I live here now. It's a most beautiful place.
The Dales - beautiful - the mist, the rain showers falling in the distance over the hills, the rays of sunlight that pop through a cloud and briefly light up a lush field and an old farmhouse, the sheep, the mud, the puddles and streams and rivers, the old walls that separate fields, the views, the blowing wind and weathered trees and the solitude, the tranquility, a sense of power from a land that knows itself.
I've lived in a small village in Richmondshire North Yorkshire for 30 years and I'm still astounded by its beauty.
My spouse and I walked the Dalesway last year. Chuffed to bits about the experience. Lovely.
**Stunningly** beautiful!
I love the tiny little villages! I can imagine being all cosy and warm in winter in an old cottage there while the wind blows and the snow falls outside.
I am from Australia and have hiked in many countries but the Yorkshire Dales is my all time favourite place and holds a special place in my heart. It could be a while before I get back there. 🥾💕🥾
I had the honor to stay there for a month and it was absolutely lovely😍
I'm from germany😊
Vielen Dank I lived in the Bavarian Alps, also sehr schoen!
The Yorkshire Dales are fantastic, stunning in fact, and a wonderful place to visit.
Yes, we were in Yorkshire dales for about ten years ago, every day homesick
So beautiful landscape unbelievable beautiful areas love to visit from Thailand 🇹🇭
Drove through the Dales from York on the way to the Lake District in August 2015. There are no words to describe the beauty here.
Did you prefer the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales?
@@kets4443 Great question. Both are equally stunning. We just drove through the Dale's so didn't really absorb the villages. But we did stay in the Lake District, and absolutely loved it. We stayed at Ellas Crag in Stair (near Keswick) and it was beyond stunning. Check out some photos from that area. The hike up to the top of Derwent Water is totally amazing and worth it. So I guess my choice would the the Lake District, but if you had a lot of time I would try to hit both. Cheers.
I am an American but have felt a pull/ calling to England since I was a very young girl. I am now 53 and do not imagine I shall ever visit and most certainly will never fullfill my dreams of living the remain years God graces me with, in such a beautiful place as Yorkshire. At least I have these video's. Thak you for posting them.
These videos only show the best locations for obvious reasons. There are many locations in Yorkshire that are not so pleasant , particularly in the post industrial mill towns. The Dales is a very expensive place to live , and is a national park , which has thankfully prevented it from becoming spoiled. There are plenty of folk here who would swop places with you. Kind regards from the UK.
@@calderdale6795 There are not so pleasant locations no matter where you live. I am from Canada , and I would move to the UK in a heartbeat! The first thing I will do when travel is allowed again, is book my flight to the UK! My home away from home :) xxx
@@MaidenCanada The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence (particularly if you are a wabbit) : an obvious truism , and yes you are totally correct. Let’s hope we get back to some semblance of normality so you can come back to the UK , where you will be most welcome.
@@calderdale6795 But I love how greener the grass is over there :) I could see myself living in Malham Cove! All kidding aside, I have seen areas of the UK
, some not a very pretty shade of green, just like here in Canada.
I do hope as well that we can get back to as normal as normal can be for us all. Thanks for the warm welcome, and I wish you all the best in these trying times..
Wendy :)
Yorkshire is where my family surname originated from. Now seeing this I feel like I just seen home. Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking!!!!
I love the Yorkshire Dales! It's beautiful 😀
i loved to see the sweet little dog. some of those beautiful scenes remind me of my home state in new england. there is a reason it is called new england after all. the scenes of the sheep in winter is also a very familiar sight.
Absolutely nature’s beautiful scenery !
This is the lovely Herriot country! Fell in love with this place since age 12 after reading James Herriot!
Hard to appreciate how beautiful the Yorkshire Dales really are on any vid, but a good effort.
And I'm only 45 minutes away from this beautiful scenery.
No wonder they call it.
Gods own county.
Nature at it's best.
Makes makes my heart skip a beat just thinking about it.
For ever Yorkshire's hills / dales/ .
York steeped in history.
💖💕💟💞💓💝💗👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just back from a week in the dales, fabulous scenery and people
Sold our house today in Aussie. Looking at where we are going to live and hope we love Yorkshire too.
+exIrvinitecult Skipton!
+exIrvinitecult I'm Australian and love it each time I go to the UK however I could never live through the miserable winters, autumns and early springs!
@TrailBlazer65
There's nothing whatsoever miserable about it... The winters are bracing in the Yorkshire Dales! The moorlands become dark, brooding blankets, breathtaking in their opposition to the powerful slate-grey skies. The Dales' villages, isolated islands of light and warming hearths nestled in the nooks of the terrain. Places where one can take a long, lingering moment to listen to the gentle rippling rainfall, or the myriad babbling brooks that meander down from the heather soaked tops.
One would have to be dead inside not to appreciate and love the stark beauty of the wintering Dales of Yorkshire! They have a power and grace that no sunshine could ever out do.
We’re in Australia and want to emigrate to the UK and live in Yorkshire. I recognise some of these places from our trip there last year. My father was from Halifax but we want to live out of town or in a small village.
I wish I’d moved there 30 years ago. It’s heaven on Earth.
@@NilsAlbertsson When younger I did years of dry-walling across Yorkshire fells; the play of light was the main thing. You might sometimes get weeks of drizzle from leaden skies but more common were broken skies, as when shafts of light would burst through after sudden squalls.
That's thé beautiful hills in Yorkshire //
I have never seen such a beautiful place.I love everything about it the sheep the green grass all the water.I would give anything to come for a visit.
then come visit, we're very friendly.
All of my my ancestors came from Yorkshire to America. I would love to visit that place.
Parker's a very common name in my area (near Skipton).
You’ve got Yorkshire blood in your veins mate, be proud!.
This is where I want to be. Always. Love Yorkshire 💘😻💜💛💚so much.
Looks like a ruddy paradise.
Moz Boy aye
It is.
Yorkshire, The Largest County in England with Beautiful Countryside.
Take me there! You people are so lucky to live in such a place. I couldn't think of anywhere better. Hope to visit you all very soon!
You can take a girl out of Yorkshire.
But you can’t Yorkshire out of a girl.❤️
I was born in Huddersfield lived in Canada now for 53 years still miss it
I love, love, love yorkshire i've been 4 times in glaisdale, stayed at red house farm, so beautiful, My heart hurts , because i don't know if i can visit this gorgeous piece of the world ever again, so peaceful! Yorkshire, Yorkshire, so close (i live in the netherlands) and yet so far away. I am grateful that i had the opportunity to visit
Dank U!
I'm looking forward to a motorcycle tour of the Dales this April 😀
Beautiful city... Yorkshire.... Roman heritage and medieval abbeys 😚😚🙂🙂😚😚 wow. . ..
The UK is much more beautiful than I thought it was. In the past year or so, I have collected thousands of quality pictures of various countries, including the UK. There are wonderful medieval villages, towns and buildings in the UK. You would think it was France. The nature is also quite nice. A big surprise if all you've heard about the UK is London and rain.
Oh far better than France.
although a large portion of the UK is London and rain. the only decent placees to visit are London (if you're into the whole 'grey city' thing with the history) or the 15 national parks.
Only like 0.71 percent of the UK is London though, there's so much more like Edinburgh, bath, Yorkshire, west country, Cotswolds. London also isn't just a grey citt
I love being from yorkshire. Such a variety of landscapes. Land of the hills and lovely attitudes :)
Absolutely stunning and definitely on my bucket list!!
Driving through one of the wilder parts of the Dales with my (then) teenage son I said "I hope you're not bored ?". His answer was "No. I've only ever seen scenery like this in Skyrim !" :)
Skyrim? i'm old so now ignorant of the young scene.
@@dineroukit’s a video game 😂
hopefully this summer! absolutely brilliant landscapes. beautiful!
I live in North Yorkshire and it’s the friendliest place in the country to live
I am coming next week...cannot wait for that views, villiges, stone walls.....SOOOO abnormally excited #yorkshire2019
I’m an Australian and Yorkshire is my most favourite place on earth to be, I married a Yorkshire lass and would love to live there, even for 12 months. Finding it hard to get a sponsored visa for work
Hopefully in 2022...can't wait!
My ancestors all hail from Yorkshire. We moved to New England in the mid-18th c. for political reasons is the story. Watching this I feel homesick for a place I've never been! Hope to visit some day.
And I would love to visit New england . My favourite part of america.
Cześć. Fajne udostępnienie. Pozdrawiam 😊
Absolutely blessed place 😍🙏💖
As a regular visitor and addicted rambler with my dog Koda, this place welcomes me with open arms. When I arrive I feel that I home. The locals are so willing to offer advice and guidance on my walks and trails. I feel that the yorkshire welcome is like no other. It makes you feel special and eager to return. I love this area and there is always a new trail, attraction or village to visit. The only sadness I ever feel is leaving. I enjoy seeing this county throughout the change of seasons. It has good transport links.
Denise Sykes where you from ??
jason why do you ask?
Denise Sykes I live in Yorkshire I was just wondering

Do come over: London is a magnificent city, but stay in the countryside. The soul of England (and, indeed, of all the UK) is in the small villages.

@@juliejeanable Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip due to the virus. So disappointed...
@@suzannesalminen2908 Yes I realised just after I commented that you would have had to cancel, thats a real shame as the weather has been glorious.
