I have never seen where what the bolts welded to the front plate were for? Extra track links, or stand off applique plate? What does the museum say?

The info plaque doesn't go too deep: "The tank on display [...] was equipped with additional armour plates by Finns during Continuation War. All captured T-28s, including T-28-E, were equipped with additional armour plates." I think the "additional armour plates" in here refers to the front part of driver's hatch and not the whole front hull. I could be wrong though.
EDIT: Seems like there are several types for the driver's hatch so this one might still be Soviet original. But the plates on the turret, both sides the gun, looks like a Finnish addition.
Most of the war time photos of T-28s in Finnish Army archives don't have these bolts but in couple photos extra tracks are mounted on the tank's front. So I'm leaning more towards these bolts being mounting points for tracks and other items.

Sherlock Zad would say its same often used as the chains - older stuff. But the other theory is possible too. carrying some stuff there for some extra armour.
what not would exclude the other "blind passengers" theory.
(The usual word here for not paying Passenger, or "blackdrivers".)
Only Not sure whats most PC atm😌

BTW. asked me for long Time. Perhaps someone here knows it.
For what especially, are the "Grids" at the modern Tanks and armoured Vehicles.
Often to see last years in middle east Battlefields mostly.
    To keep wild animals away?😇
Or climb up the Tank and install something bad?
Cant be there for real extra armour.
