I’m not trying to be all pc/woke or a killjoy, but the innuendo/sexual jokes on this video and the type of mindset they represent are a big reason why more women don’t do BJJ and learn techniques that they could use to protect themselves or even just enjoy the sport, make it more popular overall. There’s already a list of high profile cases where an instructor sexually abused a student, so we should try to improve and conserve the reputation and integrity of jiu jitsu as much as possible. If we allow for the objectification of our female practitioners that will only reflect poorly on our instructors, our gyms, and our martial art as a whole.

I lost position by giving up the under hook…and he goes “Bah..your under hook” and walked away. THIS LESSON is what he should’ve immediately given me!!! Too many of my coaches ignore the fact, newbies like me need principles like THIS more than techniques!!
It can be very tough for coaches to communicate the Pareto rule or the 20% of the move that accounts for 80% of the success you would have with it, but I’m glad that you’re finding a source where you can see what’s the most important factors that impact the position you’re in!
Finally I can understand BJJ! You explain things in a really straight-forward, easy-to-understand manner! No BS or mystification, just clear step-by-step in depth explanation in a video format. Awesome!
Came across this video completely by chance and I've spent the last hour watching your videos. The way you communicate concepts like this is absolutely phenomenal. Keep up the great work!
Man! This lesson is incredibly instructional. This is the kind of video I like to watch. I understand that submissions and strategies are important, but I internalize concepts.
I need to get in shape, gain a high level deep understanding of BJJ, learn how to communicate it in simple language efficiently, become very good looking & then find students like her to help me distribute that knowledge for free on the internet.
A few things…first, well done. Great information explained clearly. Second, despite the many weird comments here, she appears to have gathered the needed information and will benefit in the future. Yes, she could have made a better wardrobe selection, but that comes with time too, rash guards are better that string tops, but so what, just be a grown-up! Thank you for the video. No one explained to me the underhooks for even my first year.
Dude, honestly this format of video pulls out that Jiujitsu from my brain way better than just teaching techniques. Grabbing someone less experienced and just filling in the gaps for them is so helpful for everyone watching.
Yo this is exactly how I've explained it to my fellow classmates.. Going to recommend your channel and products from Bjj Fanatics. You got great articulation skills. Always a pleasure to watch you Dom
the problem is, even if u have the underhook, it's way more energy to have to constantly hip escape than it is for them to follow you on top so even though u think ur getting away you really arent because ur expending a load of energy and they can just ride u and wait for u to gas out.
@@teena-tz7lr better than being smash in the side control. Search for dog fight, its one way to take the back or side constrol when u get the under hook.
My son (6 yo) and I watched the video. Later tonight we've had a family dinner and grandma asked him if he knows what he would do when he'll be older. He says "I want to be a women BJJ coach". He perfectly catch the concept . . .
I would say that having two underhooks when you have someone in your closed guard is a bit risky as they now can move freely to neck crank you with a can opener
“Use those to pin me flat” “So I’m gonna put you on bottom” “We haven’t really done this position yet, like we haven’t like mentally adjusted to what this position is” Out of context these comments sound wild lol
You directly went for half guard which is where you will most of the time use the underhook, a more uncommon position, or just going through all positions would have been better, i would have really appreciated a lesson from the standing position beginning of the match underhook what you can do with it where you're going how you're countering i have my own knowledge about this, but i love having starting position and bottom positions lessons because these are the most critical positions, the rest is just applying control and submission anyway that would be neat
it needs to be tight to avoid darces. A tight, low underhook is safe especially when you start using it to pull them above you. Also don't forget to bury your head.
When dudes make videos like this, is there a behind-the-scenes discussion with the woman where it's explained that they have to look and dress as hot as possible in order to maximize views?
I'm confused by the start of the video. Basically said, don't use underhooks when in bottom mount. Then proceeds to advise to use underhooks in bottom mount.
Why nowadays female Jiujistu students like to wear revealing clothes to go to classes? Honestly, it's distracting male students and teachers from focusing on Jiujistu...
Yer men should Wear speedos to grapple or maybe just a leaf to cover offal. She's attention seeking. Lot of these women don't even care much about BJJ just found place to get attention
@@DubiousDom she could at least wear a real rash guard for sure lol. we've all gotten use to the short-shorts and super-tight leggings with no shorts on top, but her shirt is not what they call sports attire lol. maybe something like the UFC female fighters wear would be better for rolling. otherwise, her breasts are going to be falling out. A shirt like that is perfectly fine in public and for regular fitness classes (weight lifting/running), but for bjj drilling and rolling maybe not so much.
@DubiousDom some guys just have never been in close proximity to an attractive woman. They find if difficult to focus on the reason why they actually turned up to training. Some haven't been close to a female regardless of looks.
