This is the most honest, and most authentically dispiriting consumer goods review I have seen on RUclips. If there is some kind of award for this sort of thing - a consumer review that leads directly to existential self-questioning - I would like to nominate you for it. Well done. Know that you are appreciated where it matters.
Heck yeah!! I’m a Watch Guy with a knife problem. Love it when a Knife Guy is in the beginning stages of developing his watch problem. Enjoy the ride friend.
Not sure why this channel isn’t bigger than it is. The sense of humor, the no f*cks given attitude, the crap that is actually in the reviews. All excellent…. Unless we are just then weird ones.. nah, couldn’t be that. Great channel
The comparison of the watch face luminescence is really cool and useful. I flail my arms like a primate also, so solid crystal and case is a must. Nice how you use a Frozen hair brush to groom your arm hair only to pose with long sleeves at the end!
Got that watch for $760 and really like it. Love the vintage look and military style. Since I got it my Seamaster, PRX and Jazzmaster don't see much use. Thanks for the video.
This is one of my favourite watches. I haven't been able to purchase it yet, because I'm poor and raising kids... but the best thing about this watch is that it is a perfectly designed "day/date" dial. The numerals aren't awkwardly cut off like on most watches. The proportions and placements are perfect. I will buy one some day... if I can live long enough to see my children grown and still have a penny to my name...
Great watch. Check out a Seiko monster. I have several and they are fun to glance down and look at. Also watch dives has the homages which I would try first and if you like it buy a seiko. Also the new brand Farer is fantastic and I recommend them I also have several. Today I received my seiko 5 worn and wound watch and love it so far!!👍
I have a Hamilton Khaki Field - and though I love mine, I think this is the most accurate review I've seen anywhere. The band indeed sucks, the LUME really really sucks, and it's a terrible night watch. And its a little expensive (though I got mine on sale for pretty cheap). I do love that accuracy, that the date immediately flicks over at the stroke of midnight, and the reserve.
I purchased the Titanium Khaki Field watch a year ago. I love it . The only downside is the strap. So true on the issue that it starts looking dirty quick. I also don't like how reflective the crystal is. The lume is shit. Like - seems barely there. BUT - it's a classy looking watch that - in a more formal situation - looks better on the arm than an iwatch (though I have one of those too). Love your channel - your style is very entertaining. Keep up the great work.
I love watches, but I got my 3. A work watch 20s years old, I have had to un-scratch it many times, so I can read the hands, The nice watch that everyone comments on, and that GPS watch that I use to get lost
I'm showing a degree of self control and not allowing myself to get into watch collecting the same way I got into knife collecting. I should've stopped after I got a Swiss army knife and a Leatherman. I broke my Casio CA-53 and bought a Seiko SNK809. Last watch I'll ever need.
I’m not a watch kinda guy but I have my eyes on one for my birthday gift to myself. Idk 🤷🏼♂ if I’ll buy it. They are pretty expensive for what they are.
I still think history will remember you for your beer reviews. A century from now someone will stumble across your Zima review and your name will instantly launch into the stratosphere, up there with the likes of van Gogh, Jules Verne, and Mozart.
Great video mark! Glad to see other knofe guys doing watches too! I’m definitely a fan of Hamilton.. I have a scuba and bronze mechanical field . Fantastic quality.. great script as always got quite a few chuckles 🤭
i just picked up the Withings ScanWatch. Now, I'm hesitant something like the ScanWatch is something you'd be interested in reviewing, but I thinks it's a very attractive watch (looks classic), 1month battery life and FDA certified health tracking features that no other watch has. Anywho, if you're getting into watches, maybe check it out.
Hamilton is still a good brand but it's not for everyone. Like a person who loves divers or very big watches might not be into most their catalog. Personally I want the beige Khaki King for being a more unique color and day/date placement in their lines. Also top notch posing and outfit choice 10/10
That watch is a nice choice. I'm going to get a Hamilton one day, but right now I think I've found my niche in solar watches from Citizen and Casio. Its affordable (although sometimes solar watches can get damn expensive) plus I don't have to worry about that Auto Service 5-8 years from now. Which is good for my budget.😅 I serviced a Seiko a while ago and damn...just DAMN. Not for me. I find I'm loving Protreks and Promasters. Both are GREAT value for the money IMO. My two fav watches at the moment are the Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T (snowbirds edition) and the titanium Protrek Prw-60T. I like Gshocks too but I'm finding any watch over 14mm thick is just not me. That eliminates ALLOT of gshocks. 😅 Still even if you end up falling out of love with the Hamilton I'm sure you'll get some nice resale value out of it. Can;t wait to see more watch reviews from you.
This is a REALLY nice Mans watch. I love the simple retro clarity and symmetry of the design. You'll never regret buying this 👍 You might want to wear it inside your wrist to protect the glass. Otherwise you can buy little glass protector discs for it. Or just daily wear your Timex or Vostok 😆 You were so lucky to get your a Seiko at that price 👍
Yep. These Hamiltion watches typically do not have antireflective coating on the crystal, which is unacceptable and absurd because less expensive watches from smaller companies do. There is really no excuse so good on you for calling them out.
😎 Don't say we didn't warn ya! Good job for having the lug to lug measurement, perhaps the most important thing to consider when buying a watch over the internet (spoiler: if you actually intend to wear it on your wrist).
Hey man! Great video, iam a new viwer, i own a Hamilton h646560 and are kinda a watch geek, anyhow who cares, awesome video, love the ironic honesty, it made the video alot more fun, great video quality as well, This is so random, i was randomly looking for a everyday knife, wearing my Hamilton, then i found your channel, so u got urself a new sub man, cheers man, Much love from Norway! Btw, your watch looks bad ass, like a real, real mens watch, "fuck it, it works kinda" awesome stuff man, cya
You can adjust the run accuracy by leaving the watch flat overnight or perpendicular to gravity. That means the balance wheel is either fighting gravity or not affected by it.
You ever look at Spinnaker? I'm not usually into autos but DAMN do they make some nice stuff. Yeah they basically just use Seiko NH or Myota movements but the build quality is fantastic. I recently was able to try on a Spinnaker Dumas Blue Yonderand a HASS X MCS and their going on my list. I'm more into solar watches then autos but this is one of those rare cases where It might make an acception.
I like your watch videos. Sorry they're RUclips poison. I had a 38mm Khaki Auto silver dial that I bought because it reminded me of my Dad's 1988 Grand Marquis dashboard from when I was a kid. Nice watch. Sold it and now I just wear a Casio F91 or a Timex Expedition I've had since junior high. Turns out I like small cheap and lightweight more than anything nice.
There's a weird thing that happens with luxury watches. When I wear one of my Omegas or other high end watches no one says a word. But if I wear a $100 Seiko 5 I get all sorts of compliments and questions about it. The reason is that a high end watch intimidates the heck of people. They are too scared to say anything if they are unsure if they can afford it. Or if it will make you feel unsafe or uncomfortable talking about it. The other thing is since everyone can afford the Seiko they have been in the store at every mall and seen it in real life so they know and understand it. Only a small percent of people have been through a store that sells Omega, Rolex etc. I feel like your Hamilton is at the beginning of the start of where it's beyond the avg joe and they have no clue about them.
I had a Submariner that kept horrible time stopped working altogether and the cost of servicing was 1200 dollars by the factory so I sold it for 20 times what I paid for it. I had a seamaster that kept great time but I lost it at sea when the strap failed. I had a Speedmater that under warranty went back to the factory three times and the tac needle wouldn’t set to exact 12 o’clock or 0 as it were so I sold that and didn’t take a lose. So I guess the lesson is the higher end luxury collector time pieces have a place but I’m not wealthy and with knives, guns, cars, watches, I like toys but value as well. Value is in the eye of the beholder. I would not be in a position do a destruction test but my guess is 20 Seiko turtles would outlast vis a vis out perform one submariner, and in my experience one would get the job done. Standard and precision movements classic automatic, spring, quartz, electrostatic……if you wear it and keeps time for you and you are happy with viola. As his personal vehicle my dad always drove a Ford Falcon 6 it was his thing. I didn’t get it when I was kid.
There's never a time I'm not checking out what someone is wearing on their wrist and I love to compliment people on their watches. Some people don't care at all they're just wearing whatever watch they had or acquired. Others it makes their day. I had a nice conversation with a guy about his vintage Rolex air King. A watch that definitely flys under the radar (pilot watch pun not intended there lol) he was so stoked I noticed it as it's a watch that the average person doesn't really notice. I've experienced it too. I've got an Invicta that's gotten more compliments than my much nicer pieces lol
@@DavidNefelimSlayer Well I suppose the same can be said about knives and guns. Most people only need a $50 knife and will not understand us who spend more then that. But everyone has their limits to where they are comfortable. For myself when I get to the $300 range on a knife I can no longer use it and I reach for a cheaper knife to cut things. So why bother owning it? For me it's about having good art in my life which I believe enriches it. There's art in everything from watches, knives, cars, and guns. Art makes you feel something to the core of your soul when you look and interact with it. Maybe it's a slight dopamine/ego boost? But I understand why someone can drop $2500+ on a sharp pointy piece of metal. But eventually maybe that form of art no longer "does it for you" and your priorities shift. And that's OK to as IMHO it's a sign that maybe you have grown as a person.

The watch thing is interesting. $600 and some change could have got you a Bulova 1957 Protootype MILSHIPS or less than 400 gets you a lunar pilot. And Hamilton khaki series is interesting too especially those that try to wear them out and share the results. By osmosis I know the hands on your watch are syringe hands or needle hands, I could be wrong but I don’t take stuff that should be fun too seriously. I know you and metal complex are buddies but that guy is an holistic sedative for me. So keep up the good work. I did notice a watch advertisement on this gig so there ya go….
Thanks for the review. Yeesh! I would lose the sarcasm. This video sounds like one is trying to be humorous but really just giving up on life. This IS such a nice classic and practical watch. Thanks again for showing it.

With Nick Shabazz stepping back a bit from RUclips, I think you can step up and cover the cutlery and horology niche he's leaving. Just a couple Patek, Grand Seiko, and Tudor and you'll be set.
Always really liked the Khaki/ Khaki king line. Hamilton's original US factory isn't for from me. They're also known for the old pocket watches used in railroading back in the day and I'm in that industry. Oh well, maybe one day
I think you have to actually put on cargo shorts and New Balance 624's to accurately feel how "aging dad cool" this watch really is. When you graduate from oversized bling...then move on from desk drivers, this is the next level.
With all that arm hair brushing it looks like you're suffering from chronic knife mange. This is a real condition that can only be effectively solved by having all your knives be dull as shit.

I totally missed this. I uploaded last night and hurried through the video description this morning. Fixed!!!
@@AdvancedKnifeBro got your back, brotheren.
"Dog shit finds a way." Isn't that a Jeff Goldblum quote?
A Channel Knife???!!! 😲😲😲😲😲
I wanted to watch this but I'm strapped for time...
Thank you sir
LoL "if I'm not going to love myself, who is?"
I'm going to tattoo that in my arm
Sword hands....?!?!
If you keep reviewing watches, you will one day be able to change your name to Advanced Knife Gentleman.
I don't care about watches, but I threw you a like. Gotta do what I can to help you get pretty things.
More slipjoint garbage from eBay, less timepieces - unless there’s some battoning with them added. That I’d watch (
I thought you buy a Swatch for the insides, and not for the outsides. 😱
You just saved me£500, cheers!
Came for the watches, stayed for the self depreciating humor and sadness. Please keep reviewing these overpriced wrist clocks 👍👍👍
With all that arm hair brushing it looks like you're suffering from chronic knife mange. This is a real condition that can only be effectively solved by having all your knives be dull as shit.
I am not into watches, but I watch anyways. 😃 (not a pun!)
"Dogshit always finds a way." - Ian Malcom or something
Nice watch.but if I bought a $600.00 watch? I would lose it anyway in the ensuing divorce. 🤣🦉

That watch is paying off dividends
Already lost several subscribers- it’s working it’s magic.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro Well I'll say you're really one of my favorites.
If you sharpen your knives more frequently, you won’t have to brush as much.
