My parents had the ultimate budget wedding back in 1990. The reception was in the great hall of the church they got married in, my grandmother made the wedding cake, my aunt was a florist and did the flowers at cost, etc. When my sister started wedding planning, our mom said that her biggest regret was not having more pictures of the wedding and that photography was one category that we shouldn't cheap out on.
I watched your videos and you were my “online wedding planner” for my wedding last year. I did not do the master plan, but even just the information from your RUclips videos was pivotal in making my wedding a success. Our day was so amazing and so much of it was because of things I learned from your channel! The most important thing I learned was to prioritize what is important to you-for us it was having a fun celebration with family and friends, we prioritized the experience and togetherness the most and it was so worth it! Thank you for all that you do!
I literally said to my fiancé last night that our wedding is an event it’s proof we got married but who comes and who doesn’t even your vows aren’t the be all and end all because how you treated me and going forward is more important. Actions speak louder than words. It isn’t the best day of my life there’s going to be lots more 😊💓💛💓 xx
Having a second shooter is definitely worth it! There were a bunch of photos where one photographer had a much better angle and got a way better photo. We also could split up for photos (ex we got family photos and guest candids at the same time). We only had our photographers for 4 hours so this was really important.
I totally agree I got married in my husband's country India and the photography and videography was amazing. I think it was a team of like 6 people. We had like 4 photographers and 2 videographers. And it only came out to around 2500 USD and that included bridal shower, wedding church ceremony, reception, and a post or pre wedding shoot in any location we wanted plus some trial photos in a studio shoot then we will get 2 printed albums, a few big printed photos to hang up, and 3 videos 2 wedding videos (short and long one) and a post wedding video. I never planned a wedding in the US but my friend from the US came and said that it was an amazing deal what my team in India offered. Having so many photographers we had so many photos and videos of different angles and could also split up. One team of photographers photographed my parents at I at the hotel while the other went to my husbands home so both of us got wonderful wedding morning photos. I feel really grateful I got such a great and affordable photography and videography team.
Jamie, I’m just chiming in to say that this is your first video I’ve ever watched as an engaged woman! I can’t wait to put all the wisdom I’ve acquired over the years from your channel to use!
Hi Jamie, I watched all your videos while wedding planning. I ended up having the best day as I followed all your tips. We had a destination wedding and so many things went wrong that was out of our control but I was very prepared and it made the biggest difference. So Thank you for all you do on your channel and helping me have the best day of my life xxx
Delaying the honeymoon is a great idea, and it would be nice to see all the out of town guest after the pressure of the wedding is over. I think the concept of leaving right away for a honeymoon came from a time when most everyone lived close by, and the couple needed some privacy to get to know each other's bodies without a relative in the next room.
My family were my vendors my sister is a hairdresser another is a florist my only regret was that they were stressed on the day. I didn’t care about small details so reassured them I love it don’t worry. My sister couldn’t recreate my trial but I loved it so said it’s nice down, my flowers were more pink but I loved them they matched better. If you’re intense about details then my day would have been too stressful. My cake was a friend not fond of it but I honestly didn’t care it looked beautiful I didn’t mind not eating it. Ours was a group project and thankfully I was ok with minor changes.
I’m so glad we did an engagement shoot (included in our wedding package), and that we waited a day before leaving for our honeymoon. We got to see our family an extra day and do last minute packing more relaxed.
Couldn't afford to go on a trip and have a wedding. I feel this! Defo thinking of eloping so we can have both. (Not so much a wedding I suppose but marriage)
I dont expect my wedding to be the best day of my life. The best day of my life has been when my daughter was born. I don't know if anything could top that feeling.
Don’t take too many people with you. If you get too many opinions you can get confused. Also have some idea of what you like in mind. Don’t go in to a salon and go “I don’t know”. It makes it hard for them to pull dresses. When I went shopping I pulled dresses online and took the list in for the appointment that I wanted to see and once the consultant got a feel for style she pulled the perfect dress. You’ll know it’s the right dress because you will feel like yourself at your most beautiful moment. If you get a dress that isn’t your personality at all you may regret it later because you may feel like there’s an imposter in your pictures. Good luck if you haven’t already found THE dress.
I regret asking my husband to invite his mother. The day of it was ok but many had eyes on her. The introductions prior to the day were very terrible and then the gift opening the day after was also a bit weird but the worst was later she took us to court. And then we had about a year of dealing with her and her antics. And after 20 years this is the mark on that date.
For me a regret was also DYIing too much😅 overall my husband and I are SO happy with our wedding day but I did FIY the flowers and I just didn’t prepare like at all🤣 so the week before I stressed out my husband even more than me lol so I would not do that again😂
who's telling people not to wear their glasses on their wedding day, I legit can't see without mine, I'd be falling down the isle and marry the wrong person
Thank you for sharing! I know this may be a strange question, but your wedding dress looked beautiful. I am finding a very hard time finding a dress that is simple and flattering at the same time. May I ask where you got yours or what designer?
Wedding dance when I got married during our first dance after a small solo the dj then invites parents and it normally goes mob with fog and opposite then the bridesmaids and ushers join so you don’t feel to out there. However my husband can now dance and I regret our first dance a bit I wished we did teenage wedding with the pulp fiction dance as we were 19 and even though he couldn’t dance my husband could have done the twist. Plus the dj didn’t have our song. Seriously no fly me to the moon what sort of dj are you.
Feeding people at a wedding is important but does anyone really like the food served at weddings? I can only think of one wedding I’ve been to where the food was actually good. The ones that do buffets, yuck, pasta with flavorless sauce, mashed potatoes, usually some sort of dried out meat thing that looks like it should be dog food, and green beans. Just yuck. Cake and the cookie table are the only things worth it.
There are photographers that are cheaper than $1000 depending on their years of experience, as well as the # of hours you hire them for. Plus there are other areas of the wedding you can cut down on to save $ (your guest count is the biggest one). Your photos (and/or video) are the only things you’ll take with you from your wedding day, other than your marriage of course. If you’re cutting back stuff to save money, I recommend it not be photography.

As a bride who bought the master plan after my wedding got postponed in 2020 I can attest that it was extremely pivotal.
23 days til i am married! you have been my fav planner since before i even got engaged on xmas last year!
Couldn't afford to go on a trip and have a wedding. I feel this! Defo thinking of eloping so we can have both. (Not so much a wedding I suppose but marriage)
The marriage is the important part.
I dont expect my wedding to be the best day of my life. The best day of my life has been when my daughter was born. I don't know if anything could top that feeling.
Any tips on how to avoid dress regret?

Does master plan cover destination wedding planning?

Nah your fiancé was being a cutie patootie in that pic
No. I’m not spending another $1,000 on a wedding wedding photographer. Some of us are not made out of money..
There are photographers that are cheaper than $1000 depending on their years of experience, as well as the # of hours you hire them for.
