This album, and Washed Out in general, got me through my divorce a few years ago. And not because I was high. But the music took me to another place. As soon as I'd pop this on, it was like I was magically transported to, like, Thailand or Kiribati or something. Some place where people chill on the beach all day, palm trees sway in the ocean breeze, and divorce is a million miles away. They helped ease the greatest pain I've ever known, and for that, Washed Out will always have a special place in my heart.

I went through much of the same thing in my divorce. At one point I was living in a hotel room with Mister Mellow on repeat for a minute. Dark times, but that’s when we can see and hear life’s beauty so clearly. I was only familiar with tracks like Eyes Be Closed that got radio play before that. Once I dove deep, though, I never looked back.

Not to long ago i remember sitting at the bus stop in the poring rain headed to this dead end job. my soul crying inside knowing there was something more for me out there. I would listen to this song on those days. it was a crazy juxtaposition i guess it was my way of coping.. I since then quit that job after 7 years now this song takes on a hole new meaning for me. its a trip.

Man... Huge nostalgia hit me when I've first heard this. Brought me back to the summer in 2005 when all I did was hang out with my friends all day, everyday. We would always get into insane situations like an ultimate paintball war with us against the rest of the neighborhood or us getting lost in the Everglades. We were also huge fans of Pokemon. Whenever we weren't getting into crazy escapades, we played our Pokemon Rubies and Sapphires together. A very nostalgic tropical game in a tropical environment with a tropical and very nostalgic song to make me cry. Now excuse me, I need to finally reunite the crew after 5 years. ;-)
