An yes when the band still played 100% live. I remember this tour. Paul sounded horrendous the entire tour, but the band did play live with no backing tracks.
Even though it’s really boring, this riff must have been a pain in the ass to maintain this long. t’s full of hammer ons, slides, pull offs … Kudos to them for playing it for 2 mins without a flinch! Also crazy how Eric was a human clock at this time. Nowadays he is a shadow of himself, always missing beats or stumbling during fills. His drum solo on this tour is really a shame compared to what He did in the past.
Nowadays shows are tied up to a click and backing track and even slightest mistake mess the whole song. Singer is still human clock for to play that kind of whole show with backing tracks of vocals that cant adjust is just silly. No matter what I still love the band and its kinda funny to watch some of this fails :)

I’ve always suspected he was still on the riser yelling at the techs thinking he would be the big man and go over on it just by himself. They just couldn’t get it working so he had to finally waddle out.

when you are on a stage that big with that many things everything is contingent on keeping things the same. I don't think they were using tracks at this point but I am pretty sure they were playing to a click which times everything out and coordinates the video/pyro, etc. I am obviously not in a band this big, but I have been actively gigging for the past 10 years straight. Being on stage is a weird thing- tings don't sound they way they do out front and if you aren't a band that improvs a lot you don't want to just suddenly do that because nobody is expecting it
