    Went to see TSO in Columbus. We were fortunate enough to have chosen the same hotel the band was staying in. I saw what I thought was Jeff Plate but I didn't say anything cause I wasn't sure and he looked like he was in a hurry. I did meet Dustin Brayley though. Super nice guy. I'm sure he was eager to get to his hotel room and get ready for whatever he had scheduled for the day so it was nice of him to stop and say hello to me and my wife in the hotel lobby. Didn't see anyone else from the group (that I know of) but it was still nice to meet one of the guys.

    Saw the show twice this year. In Hershey and Philadelphia, Pa. What a show. This east coast team is simply great. as often as they have done this show, they still look like there having fun and play with what looks like real emotion. And this guy who does the narration is soooooo much better the the guy from the west coast team.....

    While front row seats would be cool for most other rock shows,...to get the most out of all their outstanding visual effects, I would recommend at least 50 rows back from the front, and as near to the center as possible. Just saw them last Sunday in Glendale , AZ. It must have been their west coast tour musicians, with 3 awesome male guitarist and one fantastic female Violinist. It was well worth the 70 buck ticket price.

      I just got my tickets to see them when they come to Columbus, Ohio on December 28th, and we always get seats in the upper rear deck, that way, we can take in all the visual effects. The pyro, lasers, etc. This will be my 10th time seeing them. The first five times was the West Coast production in Spokane, Wa. and the last four were here in Columbus. They put on a show that is not to be missed!

    Against my better judgement, I'm taking my daughter, who has asthma, to see them next week. She has a hard time with smoke. I got seats as far away from the stage as I could and am hoping she will be ok. Hopefully we don't have to leave in the middle. I've got a bad feeling though. Wish me luck.

    • @ShadowRhapsody81
      @ShadowRhapsody81 10 лет назад

      There really wasnt any smoke at the NC show i went to back in November. Thre is one point were they drop mist on you... bubble's to simulate snow.. But thats it. The Fire that goes off on the stage, and at one section near the back of the arena floor is propane i think.. so it dosnt leave smoke in the air. You just get a blast of heat, see the flame, and thats it. There was never any 'smoke' in the air.

    • @9012505
      @9012505 10 лет назад

      NC may have better ventilation. I hope you're right though. I saw it with my son here in Columbus last year. There was smoke all the way out in the lobby after the show. Hopefully they worked out the ventilation issue since then.

      They don't use actual smoke. Nobody does anymore. It is created with fog machines which produce a non-toxic fog that looks like smoke. Not sure how the fog interferes with asthma but it's not smoke.

    Interesting. In Wichita this year the policy was that non-flash stills on amateur equipment were allowed but no video or audio recording. In Oklahoma City a few years ago for the Beethoven's Last Night tour, a guitarist with the show announced that they knew by midnight the whole show would be on You Tube so please include the introductions to give the songs context. I video recorded openly from the front row center but was later told by another band member that the band itself had no authority to allow posting (technically, publishing) of any part of the show.

    • @JdDiehl
      @JdDiehl 2 года назад

      Yeah. Specific venues have different policies. There are some venues that don't mind filming, flash, or whatever but will still prevent you from doing it if so requested by the band/performer ahead of time.
      If you go to a concert with the intention to film, I would definitely read up on their policy beforehand

    Great job Stix, as usual! I can't believe how the production values have gone down in this years show! I bet the TSO saved several million dollars for the two shows. The staging was pretty lame, poor light show, no pyro until the end. The rear arena platform looked like it only went up about 15 feet instead of their usual 40 or more. The two articulating arms from the stage that Chris used were good. but that's about the most expense they spent for the stage I would say. I've seen them grow from the smaller more intimate venues to the arenas. They always seemed to step up their stage presence every year, so this years show seems a little lame. Maybe they're just getting burnt out, since they did say this was the last Christmas show. I know they're touring Europe also so maybe they need a smaller stage setup and crew to do that, and still make money? Thanks again for the good video work!!

    Where should I buy seats for this year? 12.10.14
    I can buy in the red section up high, but I think out view will be a tad obscured.
    I can buy in the blue section on the floor, but how is the visibility?
    Or I can go green in the back.
    I will have newbies with me and I want them to be enchanted!

      There isn't a bad seat in the house. I've been to 3 of their shows at Gwinnett Center and 2 at Phillips Arena. I've sat in the floor seats and in the very top section and I can't complain about any of them. Personally, I suggest first timers sit a little further back so they can see everything and because the light show is so intense and you don't know how they'll react to it. But again, there's no bad seat. Enjoy the show!!! It's worth every penny!

      Sharon B. Franklin Thank you for your reply. I love watching this group at Phillips vs Gwinnett. The time at GA all of my party of 6 had cramped necks trying to watch the show. We were on the left side a few rows up from the floor. This was in addition to being stuck in traffic for an hour trying to get in and at least an hour trying to leave. With our drive of 2 hrs to get home, the traffic was a deal breaker. We never had this type experience at PA. ATL just knows how to deal with the traffic better than Gwinnett. Plus at PA you can park early and get something to eat, which is nice. I was able to find seats in section 100, which is where I wanted my folks to watch the show for the 1st time as it was where we watched for our 1st time. I am soo looking forward to this concert!!

    Who is the guy singing sparks in this concert I already know he is a new face for Trans Siberian Orchestra East. You know I have actually been on both west and east coast of the United States and have seen both groups something I really wish that these guys would do is form a super group with both bands together. which it was sort of like that when they went over to Europe at the beginning of 2014.

      They do allow recording and know when I am recording. Find the spot in this video where Rob Evan comes right up to my camera. Also, many of the artists use my footage for their personal reels and usage. - Stix

      STIX FX Entertainment Well they have used my recordings as well but that doesn't mean they were allowing it. Im sure if Security was aware you would have been made to stop......But I don't know anything ive just been asked to stop recording TSO myself before.....So I guess I don't know what I am talking about evidently....But good for you.....Looks pretty nice.....Maybe you had band permission but that's not usually the norm....Believe me....

    • @jimwebster8095
      @jimwebster8095 10 лет назад +1

      STIX FX Entertainment Funny.....by your own admission you say the venues are the ones that make you stop not the band. That was never in dispute. Paul and the band have several of my boots that ive done so I know it isn't them that mind..BUT the band isn't going out of there way to allow it. They view it as a necessary evil....LOL..They know they cant stop it....Again, my statement is correct. IF the venue see's you recording they WILL make you stop..Luckily the guards are too stupid to differentiate between regular cams and recording cams....

      Jim Webster Not going to argue with you, but I usually check with security and they have no problem with it as long as I am not bothering anyone. For this show I had a long convo with the security lady and she had no prob with it. I guess you have different issues than I, but I have never had any issues with any venues in recording (others have I heard). The only one I was not allowed to record was BLN Dallas since TSO was filming, and that was made known on entry to the arena. - Stix

      Good job to because your footage is great quality and we wouldn't get a chace to see it at all.
      I just wish TSO would record a show themselves and release an official DVD, preferably with Al Pitrelli as lead guitar. The others are good just not Al

    Does anybody know which group they use to record the albums? Do they take the best of the East and West groups, or is one group the prefered recording group?

    Do you know if fans are allowed to record the show in Hershey? I would love to take my camera but I don't want to lose it. I checked and the arena policy says no videotaping. Thanks for any input from your experience.

      TSO is well known for letting fans record shows. They don't advertise much so word of mouth sells allot of tickets for them. Take your camera or video recorder and enjoy the show.
