You said 148nm, you wrote 138nm... The correct number is 160nm at 4400rpm....

2 years into SSS ownership... Handling, braking, acceleration and economy are top-bracket. No warranty issues yet. Only the electric power steering lets it down. It's the poor man's Golf GTI. Highly recommended.

BMW Reviews Almost 50,000km now -- tomorrow I exchange the original well-worn Bridgestone Potenzas, which handle well for such a hard tyre, for a set of Continentals -- which I suspect are now made in China, since they're 2/3 the price they were 2 years ago.

@@hainerich No problems at all, but I traded the SSS on a Vitara turbo after 3 years' ownership (2 years ago). The Vitara is much quicker all round, and equally as reliable. Note that the atmo SSS beats a Golf GTI around the Magny Cours track in France. Ref: zeperfs.com

The only time you would need 2 hands on the wheel is if you are on the track. Not sure what you are talking about.

came in to thank u as your review was one of the reasons which made me bought the car. I must say ur review on the SSS is the most detailed and best I have found. Trust me I mean it, since I have been doing extensive research and that includes watching tons of videos on the SSS mk2. keep it up!
and 0-100 is 8.1s for me which is lower than on paper. The only thing which I don really get is its fuel economy, I am able to squeeze out 5.7-5.9 very consistently which I think it could be because I do not my best not to go beyond 1800rpm.

Zackariah Gill Same class? The supposed same class Hatchbacks are a lot more expensive and heavier, also the Swift Sport comes with all the extras on unlike the others that still demand a whole more to put all the goods on.
What this car offers for value of money makes it the best hot hatchback out there.
And is not just that. It's doesn't brake easily and maintenance cost is low unlike European hatchbacks that have expensive parts.

Possibly true but for the runningaround through the hills where I live and to the city the auto is perfect because I'm not constantly shifting. If it were purely to blast around once in a while, I'd agree the manual is more driver fun. But, overall, fantastic car!
Getting a sport little car meant for driver fun and then putting auto is like a sacrilege man.
Understand where you're coming from and I've had manual sports cars for many years but at 54, time for some relaxed driving too but you should see the roads where I live.I've put my little auto into manual mode and given it a good squirt or two and it is bucket loads of fun for sure. Left foot braking, right foot on the throttle and shifting gears up and down with my fingers....I've had a sun roof fitted and driving through the hills with roof open, believe me, I'm a very happy man! I absolutely love my Swift Sport, I would say quite easily it's the best car I've ever owned. Even shoulders above the MX-5 I had.

The manual mode sucks big time with those stupid paddles. Its rather pointless on a cvt..and its nowhere good as an mx-5. Get yourself a proper auto (dsg,etc) if you want an auto
are you satisfied with this car? Is it reliable? I want the 1.2 engine which is very economic but enough power for me. What's your experience after 9 years? Would you buy it again?

Same question inhave because thats like the only thing i want from the sport. Side skirts is a meh. For me.

did you have any clutch problems with the car?... did it break or wear prematurely?

Actually that Swift Sport is over 1060kg not 1045kg.
The aussie one is 1060 the european one is 1040-1045kg. Theres extra features in australia that add weight.

That Swift Sport in the video is 1060kg, the 3 door model is 1045kg.

Pretty cool car, but I don't consider buying it because of some very cheap interior details (door handles, pixels in the radio display etc.) and the low top speed of 195 km/h. My current 100hp vehicle can do that.
What luxury and top speed do you expect from a cheap hatch? You don't want to go faster than 200km/h with a small hatchback, trust me! They are awesome for the money!
+József Milán Pintér I don't expect luxury in a small car, but interior elements that don't look like they have been designed in the 90s. Driving around over 200 km/h on the autobahn in Germany is effortless. Have been doing it many times, even in small cars.

robcig can get a bit noisy since the transmission is a bit short.
driving at 150kmph its running on 3500-4000rpm but its a hell lot of fun ^^
but the most fun you have is at traffic lights. for someone who doesnt know the car it looks like a normal swift,
its just hard to see the dumb faces in the back mirror when you start off like a rocket xD
