I admire you, you're amazing in everything. From being a devoted mom, to articulating challenges so eloquently, to even swimming in freezing cold water. Kudos!
Me and my husband we are starting in these amazing journey of autism. Two months ago we found that my daughter is autistic. She’s 2 years old and already start with ABA & Speech Therapy. As a mother you have no idea how all your videos have been helpful and I just wanted to thank you YOU and DYLAN for sharing. That’s great you took some time for yourself and Yes we need to be “OK” to be there for our kids (applauses). Keep going with the good work, YOU GOT THIS.
I would suggest looking a lot into ABA and the principals behind it, as it has caused trauma in so many autistics and in some cases use methods that are really inhuman. A lot of times, it's dog training for autistics to teach them to be more neurotypical. There are a lot of other options for therapy such as occupational therapy which I'd look into if I were you. Not judging you, just hoping that your child will be as safe as possible. :)
Hi, I am glad that Dylan is well now!! You are so sweet whole family!! I am looking forward Dylan's videos ;)) every autumn I get into depression. Daylight lights and candlaes help a lot ;)) Take care! Love from Maidstone.
As always, love your honesty and rawness. This journey can be tough and I think we get too good at pretending we are ok to protect ourselves and our children - or we don’t even realise we are not ok. Glad you and Dylan are doing better. Look after yourself! 💜
Sorry you have had such a tough time but great to hear things are much better now. So good Dylan was able to say he needed time out himself - you have set such a good example - Great job, you should be so proud ! x

Finally!!! I've checked almost every day to see if you had posted a new video... Mother of two 5yrs old w/ASD here. Among all the contents I've being diving into during the last 3 years (and I mean from neuroscience to prebiotics, from sign language to sensory diet and so on ) your channel has been a huge source of inspiration. I relate so much, ALL you've been through. That's me. You talking fast cause you've learned to do everything fast. That's me. You always smile even when you're exhausted. That's me. I'm not yet in the phase I can have a break cause my kids still depend so much on me and I'm alone. But I'll get there. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and boost my morale. I look up to you and I feel so much stronger. Welcome back! 🤗

My “baby” is now 45. I’ve been there, too. I’ve often thought of it as PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). I’m so glad you have friends. Our lives are often like the sea, it seems. . . The different tides come and go. Sometimes a peaceful glistening sea and then a roaring wave followed by a sweet wave that you can float in. Sometimes I float peacefully, others make me swim for shore. Wish I could hug you. I was so excited to see you back that I answered before I watched all of your video. Missed you and can’t wait to see your kiddo’s video.
Thank you sooo much for this I feel now much better. I have 2 autistic boys it’s very hard … some days I feel veryyy low I don’t have time for friends and family
I can really understand what you might have been through.. though I don't show it up to anyone, I feel both panicked and depressed both if my son has even mild fever.. ❤️❤️
Thanks so much for sharing how you were feeling… I wasn’t feeling good either and little by little I’ve been trying to fill up my cup… It’s so hard, we end up losing ourselves! Your content it’s the best! So excited for all the things you mentioned that will be happening on your channel!… cannot wait 🤩👏🏼
thank you so much sorry to hear you were struggling too. SO many people were and its good that we can be supportive of each other. no one really knows what its like to walk in another persons shoes x
Sending love! One of my autistic boys has ARFID which is also common with autism. It's been hard as hell. Hes currently on hospital grade full nutrition sustagen twice a day. X
Hello, PTGL Amen Amen that you and your family are well. Especially you because mothers are deemed super humans. But the truth is you need to take better care of yourself as the family depends on you. Many thanks for sharing and for your honesty because these things are all too often taken for granted! May Abba Father, continue to bless you and your family.
Oh Tara i wish I could hug you physically! Sending a big virtual one instead! I tried to catch up with you as much as I could on IG. I hope you feel better. It is soooo good to see you back and you make me feel so much understood and calmer after each videos. So thank you! I believe my child might also have PDA so I ll ask his psychologist about it. I am also interested about how Dylan is coping in secondary school with different teachers changement of routine … I had two children after my eldest was diagnosed with autism (the last one is 14 months) so happy to chat with you about our experience. We get so much more information with you on autism than anywhere else. You are a lifesaver Tara and I think you are bloody amazing! A wonderful mother 💜💜💜 if you plan on coming in Australia let me know 😘😘😘
Yes! My AS girl 11 years old went incontinent during lockdown, bloody noses. We lost our income and insurance. I ended up in hospital for two weeks from a complete nervous collapse. Lockdown was horrific for special needs kids and caregivers. My daughter had to start taking anxiety pills. She is all better now, but it was a journey.
OMG, Tara, what a terrible time you've been through! I'm so glad Dylan's okay and well. I remember Grisha stopped eating and drinking for 24 hours- we were abroad on a holiday, just me and him, and I couldn't do anything about it. Only the idea of going to a hospital and his fear of injections and any devices that come in contact with his body did the trick and little by little he got back to drinking and eating again. Can't imagine how I'd manage what you had to experience for that long. You're such an amazing person Tara, just want you to know that you guys are always in my heart, we never forgot about you. Love, Karina Xxx
You give me strength when ever I watch ur video coz I have lovely boy with Autism. I hope one day everything will be fain all mothers who hv special need kid's.
Glad you are doing much better! Also I watch as an Adult being assessed, its good to know you are going to talk to Adult ASD. You really don't see that often. Often than not, ASD peoples voices are less important than 'professionals' that as you experienced, never really know anything. As for Dylan, his own episode, go him!
Often, actual autistics are overlooked, sadly. It's a massive shame, because there really are a lot of great autism advocates who can advocate on a whole different level than a professional; because they're autistic themselves. Plus, some professionals really don't know what they're talking about, when it comes to outdated knowledge and research. I have friends who have been told to their face that they cannot be autistic because they make eye contact or they're female, by people who are supposed to be professionals. Some of the professionals will also suggest harmful therapies or methods of "bettering the autistic" and it's just disgusting to see people not be accepted. I'm autistic myself and quite lucky to even have a diagnosis; I was told I was neurotypical at age 13, got a diagnosis age 14 in a mental hospital after spending my entire life up until that point not being accommodated, and therefore my mental health taking a crash. The people who worked with me there talked about me being on the spectrum from the moment we first met at a home visit. It was that obvious, but people are just not educated enough.
You are a wonderful caring mother. Sorry for all of the hardships you and your son face.
Thank you x
I admire you, you're amazing in everything. From being a devoted mom, to articulating challenges so eloquently, to even swimming in freezing cold water. Kudos!

@@carpetstick even worst than that, some dog trainers said ABA is bad EVEN for dogs

My daughter is like this with food, she sometimes won't eat or seem hungry until about 8pm at nights
Love,
Karina

thank you so much x

Omg i missed you all 🙏🏻❤
Missed you
