Am I the only person who is under the impression that this won’t be a song, but a short film? I mean, the band members aren’t listed in the credits as they usually are. As well, only Will is credited to the music. Not to mention the monologue being featured. Ngl this doesn’t seem like another song. Regardless of what it’ll be, I am certain this will be the most mind-opening shit to ever graze the earth (i’m exaggerating a lot but still).
    Edit: .
I did not expect to be that correct.

just based on the title and vibes I’m hoping this is a commentary on like social media/algorithms and how they target us as people. That would maybe explain the sheep (being us as a society) and robot AI things in the back controlling us. I know it’s not rlly a secret (I mean “Okay, Computer” is literally in the title) but like i love how it’s very much paralleling Fitter Happier from that album since the messages in that song/album really focus on where society was at the time of the release and it’s flaws and priorities and this is doing a really similar thing except it’s a newer take on it since technology and just the way we live has drastically changed since the 90s. Idk i think it’s neat :0

    • @juliancassidy3081

Same here! I feel like the song might have that vibe of OK Computer's alternative-rock-ish electric sound combined with more folk-y instrumental that we were presented in tomcats disposable and cicada days. Kinda like paranoid android or exit music in my mind? Begins with a soft baritone ukulele and progressively transits into a more 'impactful' or even *sinister* sound (I can't find a better adjective to depict my thought but sinister is a close one) in which somehow it would fit perfectly with the theme of the song. I'm not quite sure how I can put it into words but I can see Beverly Standing's voice used in a manner that resembles the style of Fitter Happier. Nonetheless really excited to see how this track and the whole album plays out, been vibin with the last two lol

id like to think he stays with the almost solo acoustic guitar to contrast (annoy everyone who wanted electric music from Will)

    • @kylewoodson
      @kylewoodson 2 года назад +20

@@spikeikari954 I don't think that's why Will has been doing acoustic to piss people off, I think he generally wants to explore and express himself in different ways than he could with piano, plus he stated that the album will be more folk music sounding. But I do have to wonder how he will approach this song since it seems to be social media and obsessions on other's ideas (like for example, when Kurt Cobain from Nirvana stated he hated smells like teen spirit, suddenly all of his fans would state and say the same thing), and the video and just general feel seems like it would be electric/techno sounding. But that is a theory, and I will be happy with any sound/music from Will no-matter what genre, if he is with the tapeworms, if he will be the "In case I make it" Will, "The Normal Album" Will, and etc, etc. Because Will is a great musician, and a guy with a interesting story, confidence, and a wonderful vision for how music should and can be

Will, you have made such a great job! The tension makes you wonder if you're running a social network or if they're running you. And this feeling of anxiety follows you from the start until the very end.
Also the clip helps to plunge into this state of hopelessness and fear... Literally I can say that words are absolutely meaningless, because they can't describe my emotional state.. But this monologue, Will, it makes us think about the real danger. Thank you so much!

    going kinda bonkers right now.
I’m very excited for this! I’ve been in a radiohead phase for a *while*, and if this title is referencing what it most likely is, that’d be amazing to me!
The music video also looks cool, judging off the thumbnail. i can’t wait for this!
edit, post premiere: oh, god! i am pleasantly surprised! of course, it wasn't a full song, but i did get Fitter Happier vibes from it. I feel that this song may be an overture, an interlude, maybe even a closing to the album.

I think it's interesting that part of the title of this is "Okay, Computer!" because it reminds me a bit of Fitter Happier from Radiohead's Ok Computer album, both of which are a commentary on society (with Fitter Happier being a commentary on social conformity, and this being commentary on social media).

Ok this is such a nice surprise, just going onto yt to check notifications then this pops up! Omg I’m so excited aaaa. I already know I’ll be playing it on loop like the other masterpieces Will has posted recently. Wonder what this song will bring? Tears, laughter, and definitely a hum once I’ve got the melody lmao. And it’s only 10 days away aaaa!

this feels like a sort of "update" to fitter happier in response to the social media age, which is interesting because fitter happier itself remains extremely relevant and topical (along with the rest of ok computer)

    Here’s my take on this:
The visuals are the most interesting so I’m going to start there. The sheep represent people (the billboard at the end literally has sheeple on it) and the factory represents social media. It systematically changes these peoples thoughts.
In one scene we see a blade cut off the sheeps outer wool to reveal their emotions. The way that the machine does this is cold and systematic. The fluff that comes before the emotions are condensed and forced into other people.
I think that the sheep growing green represents them having formed opinions on the matter purely based on social media.
My other theory on what this could mean is that they are going green with envy because they couldn’t jump over the fence but it would make much sense in the social media theory so I’m not going to build in it.
Back to what I was saying before that paragraph; them feeding the green stuff to the rat is them feeding it to the new generation of sheeple so that way the process can start all over again.
The fish man is a capitalist who is in charge of these corporations and the skeleton gripping the earth in fire represents how doomed we all are.
The voice in the background is social media. As you go deeper and deeper into it it gets more and more overwhelming. The words that she says are all buzzwords.
The music uses the piano to frame the whole thing as tragic.
All of this combines to make a great video. Well done, Will Wood. You made a video so great that people will be up at 1 am constructing theories.

Such an interpretive and interesting work of art. The internet gave us much more than we could have expected, we view more in a day than observe the things around us. Unable to tell fantasy from reality, fiction from nonfiction, and more. All because were so caught up in the algorithm, its like moths drawn into a light, flies stuck in a fly trap, just a never ending loop of title after title after title. One of the best hidden messaged videos i could have ever seen!

Wow. Okay first of all this made me feel very.. creeped out, the voice, the animations, the sound effects and lastly the message is very scary when you put it all together. I think we don't really realize how the internet is a very scary place by simply liking an post you will get all these recommendations and if we do it over and over again it's like the internet is trying to grab information of us so it can fill us with entertainment meaning the internet knows us and it's scary to think about it, how come when it's our society we want privacy but when it comes to the internet it's fine? The internet knows our birthday, name, age, friends, favorite celebrities, favorite musics etc. It's scary when we fight for our privacy (famous or not) on the internet but little do we know that the villain is in front of our faces all along. I might be REALLY out of topic but i guess i just wanted to share it.
