I discovered him recently. It’s surreal watching him do comedy. Definitely appreciate that reference to The First Step. To anyone who enjoys introspective avant-garde alt rock, I highly recommend it.
I love how nervous he is throughout this. He clearly has an extraordinary sense of humor (something that comes through quite poetically in his music), but he's constantly revealing his very human side, intentionally or otherwise. The world is a better place with Will Wood.
I think one of the best things about this is that you can barely hear the kid like _at all_ in the video, so Will just sounds like he's just imagining a kid in the front row the entire row, and the audience is just going along with it because they have no idea what else to do
Everything he's in is just perfectly squared in whatever emotion it's attempting to portray, that I literally can't believe anything he's doing is spontaneous or unplanned. His hands are shaking, his makeup's flaking, he's fidgeting with his clothes, and his eyes are darting. It's fucking perfect. I found myself laughing at his vibe instead of his jokes. it was truly unique, and I believe that this lad's awkwardness is a planned product of his conscience rather than a shy psyche.
