@Angel of Harlem don't get me wrong. I still like them just not love them as much as I used to and it's all in personal preferences. Their first 3 albums are solid especially Blackbird and AB III, then meh. The Last Hero and Walk the Sky are pretty much hit-and-miss for me.

@@Detrucci Also forgot to say great reaction as always man & I hope you do react to another AB song, they are so talented and such an underrated band. You are also correct, this song is about Myles friend who sadly passed away when they were recording this album so its dedicated to him.

Like everyone said, go for the Words Darker than Their Wings (plz note the face Tremonti makes when Myles hits a certain note :D)

You're right about the lyrics. This song is dedicated to a good friend of Myles (the singer) who died from cancer. That guy was the one who sold Myles his first guitar, and they grew friends for a long time... This band has a lot of mithic songs. If you want some more beefy and faster songs, you could try with Cry of Achiles, I love that one. Great review, it's nice to see people reacting who can actually talk about music.

Great reaction. As others have said, do Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall. Greatest live performance I've ever seen and Myles Kennedy's F5 note at the end is insane!

Love Alter Bridge, an incredible band. BTW, the birds on the frets are standard on PRS guitars which the band use on tour. Mark even has his own custom PRS model.

The clicking drum sound you heard was the drummer playing on the rim of the drum..cool effect.
As for the birds on the fret board of the guitars, they are a usual feature of PRS custom models. If you watch Kanami from Band Maid she has the same birds on her PRS custom 24!!😁

Both Kennedy and Tremonti play PRS guitars. One of the trademarks of PRS Guitars is the birds in frets design you refer to.

Wonderful Life is insane off their AB III album....just beyond beautiful. Myles Kennedy is too rock vocalist by light years right now. No one comes close. Top ten of all time in rock as well in my opinion.

Blackbird's lyrics were written about an old friend of Myles' - who sadly passed after a hard battle with cancer, during the making of the song.
I hope to see more of Alter Bridge on your channel, maybe some of their newer performances like 'The End Is Here' or 'Words Darker Than Their Wings' from their live show at the Royal Albert Hall, back in 2017.

I used to like them before they turned into a more metal band, I love metal but I loved their early style, it was a perfect mix of hard rock, post-grunge and metal.
He's playing on the rim of the snare for that clicky/clack sound at that one point.
Put Alter Bridge, Nightwish and Lacuna Coil on repeat

Alterbridge was created from Creed. Scott Stapp left the band. Myles replaced him and the band reformed as Alterbridge. I prefer Alterbridge to Creed by far. Myles and Mark are both excellent guitarists with way different styles. You can't go wrong with them. Myles also does Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and is the vocalist on Slash's solo stuff. He is one of the best voices in rock and can hold up with the best of them. He does a duet with David from Disturbed of the Sound of Silence that is cool.
If you know of the band Creed, it's just with a much, much better singer... Myles Kennedy. Mark Tremonti is a beast of a guitar player, they're both playing Paul Reed Smith guitars, and yes, it's about Myles guitar teacher that passed on... Love this song.

@@Detrucci I'm not saying Creed is a bad band, but Alter Bridge is on another level... Mark threw out the Creed rulebook with his songwriting skills in this band.
If you haven't yet, you should listen to the studio version of this song. I think his voice sounds way better in the studio version, but maybe that's just me.
That said, the "Words Darker Than Their Wings" song others have recommended, live from The Royal Albert Hall, is *amazing* , and his voice is spectacular there.
