According to service manual alternetor in
this procedure must be removed. Then almoust any tool is good. I used
Vokswagen tool 3185.

According to service manual alternetor in this procedure must be removed. Then almoust any tool is good. 🤣 I use Vokswagen tool 3185. There was also a delicate twelve-beam tool with a rounded tip. I don't remember the number.
I was not able to remove the thermostat on CBA engine without undoing the plastic pipe behind the oil filter, and still managed to damage double oring
On this engine , by service manual, plastic pipe must removed to change termostat. I changed all the thermostats that I have changed as shown in the video. Double oring always put a new one.
Is it possible that my MK6 TDI with DSG has no DSG thermostat? On the coolant hose from the dsg transmission there is no thermostat like yours.
It is possible that there is no such thermostat. If there is 1.6 d and dsg is dq200.
@uldisbetons8776 By 1.6d you mean 1.6 engine? I have the 2.0 tdi engine. My engine coolant temp is not reaching normal temperature operation. I would have check the dsg thermostat first since it's easier than the main thermostat
@@flowless1753 If there is a 2.0 tdi and a dsg dq250, then there should be such a thermostat. And according to experience, the thermostat to the gearbox is the first to die. But the main thermostat can also be left open!

Is it possible to replace just the thermostat and keep the plastic housing? Or do you need to swap the whole thing?
It is necessary to change the whole body because it is one part. It is not possible to replace only the thermostat separately.
@@uldisbetons8776 Thats a shame. I found a thermostat thats compatible, but what use is it if i cant get the thing out of the housing..? :(
