Please react to the latin part of Philippines (chavacano) songs Porque by David and Aria ruclips.net/video/Eb0Cay4L3vk/видео.html and maybe both of u do a cover
I was there in this concert. She's not sick at all. She just gave it her all the first night reason why the second night, her voice sounded somewhat hoarse when she speaks. She squeaked during one of the few songs earlier (I think it was Shine, the last part) because her voice hasn't fully warmed up yet. But after that, she sounded amazing. Having a hoarse voice does not equate to being sick.
I saw a clip of her singing I don't wanna miss a thing where she sounded tired. I think it's from 2nd or 3rd day of this concert if it was a 3 day concert. She still sounded incredible though she has pauses and rests during that performance but still incredible.
@@freakdoug69this was the last day of her concert. She did a series of concerts like 2 or 3 consecutive nights. She said she was under the weather and she was losing her voice. She sounded throaty and hoarse when speaking but was apologetic about it. My family and I were there in the crowd. Lucky we got tix as we were in the Philippines on vacay.
And she is one of the reasons why auto tuned is almost always frowned upon in our country and singing is often live. Lip syncing is never acceptable in our country.
THE MOTHER OF ALL OF TODAY's DIVAS. Morissette's first song she ever learned when she was 4 was a Regine song. Katrina grew up in singing contests using Regine hits as her contest piece. KZ, Kyla, Fourth Impact, Jona --- they all grew up singing Regine songs. The majority of the singers in the Philippines are a product of Regine's predominant influence. But who were Regine's influences? Barbra Streisand, and Filiipino Singers, Sharon Cuneta and Kuh Ledesma. The song What Kind of Fool Am I is from a theater musical in 1962. She sang this in her concert in 1992 and became one of her signature songs. She was first noticed nationwide on BAGONG KAMPEON (New Champion) in 1984. A singing contest where she succeeded 8 weeks and eventually won the title. In 1989 she won in Asia's Song Festival where her career started to soar. She made albums across Asia and in the early 90s and was known as ASIA'S SONGBIRD. She chose to stop making a name in Asia when she was avoided to acclaim her nationality. In this performance, yes she was using all her techniques and might to belt it off because she was already sick with almost no speaking voice (this was the second night of her two-night 20th-anniversary concert). But when she is in her element, she can just sing this like yawning 😂👑 watch her highest version here: ruclips.net/video/wMyGFa95Y7A/видео.html
Don’t forget Pilita Corrales, all the Pinoy belters’ OG. Regine just received the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Award this year. And they had a duet a few years ago - guess who was star struck? ☺️
Actually not just the Philippines but Asia's Songbird, and her title was given to her after winning the Asia Pacific Singing contest. 😊 The song is a Sammy Davis Jr original but rearranged by Maestro Louie Ocampo, the Piano man here, to suit Regine's style. This song became one of her signatures.
sorry to contradict you but this song was written by Anthony Newley and Lionel Bricusse and published in 1962....Sammy Davis sang it on one of his albums after he heard the Newley version
She is "The Asia's song bird" Literally, the queen of all queens in the Philippine singing industry. The most selling Artist also an actress. Thank you for this! I have been waiting! Queen Regine is a literal legend. All musicians here have mad respect for her. She created this style that greatly infuenced the generations following hers. Aside from her signature belting technique (which made it easier for succeeding singers to emulate), this is how "upping/hyping" most ballad belting songs became popular in the Philippines--that sort of "owning" the song you're singing, adding your own flair (in Regine's case, it would be via the Regine-style climactic end). The "storytelling" type of performance is also an influence from Regine, mainly because the songs she sings are mostly of that kind--emotional and wrenching. I've said this before, but Katrina Velarde's "Go the Distance" cover on the Wish Bus is almost exactly how Regine sang it back then, almost as if replicated by Katrina (she even replicated Regine's voice which was perfect). We Filipinos are known to be great mimics. Katrina is the epitome of that. In the current generation, the artists who can mimic Regine the closest are Katrina and Morisette. I guess it's a blessing how we have Regine since she became a great example for aspiring vocalists.
Thank you for featuring Regine V.! Many Filipinos admire her because her vocal work is pure talent! She wasnt formally trained, her father "trained" her to belt out those tunes while emerged in water up to her neck. She was known for doing covers like they were her own songs (like KZ i doin right now) -- her voice can easily convey emotions -- sad, angry, lonely, etc.
You both really standout for me when it comes to music reactions. I know that you both are also musically inclined and I love that you never show anything else but just pure appreciation to a talent. Thanks for your channel!
Regime's favorite is Barbra Streisand, she even sang "a piece of sky" one of barbra's classic and not so many singers dare to sing live. You should react to that please 👍🎶🎤❤️
When I was a teenager, I heard her perform in an open park. It was so good. She hit all the high notes and her singing was so clear. But after her performance she talked to the crowd and we found out that she has a hoarse voice because she has a cold and cough. We were surprised that she can still sing so well even with a cold and a hoarse voice.
And take note thats last song that she performed on that concert. Imagine how used was her voice after belting the whole concert and then she sang this. Isnt it amazing? Thats how talented she is ,she can belt with the same power in her whole concert during her prime. We have a lot of belters here but theres no other else like her in terms of power. I have watched lot of filipino concerts but their voice get easily tired after the first half of the concert unlike regine shes incredible.slow clap.👏👏👏👏👏
I once watched her live. And I just cried bcoz of the power of her voice. She's so good so good live. You'll get overwhelmed by the power of her voice..

It is astounding - she is actually sitting sideway with both her legs on left. She us using her right arm to support her sometimes, to at least balance he stance to support her diaphragm, but on that last note you see she raises that arm upwards and outwards, so no only does she has to shift her core stability to balance, she belts out that last note perfectly. She cannot hold that note too long as you can hear cos her lungs, larynx and diaphragm are doing two things at the same time to maintain the belt, resonance and pitch of the final note. Astounding
"What Kind of Fool Am I" is a hit song by Sammy Davis, Jr., released in 1962. It was from the musical "Stop the World -- I Want to Get Off." This song has been interpreted many times by different artists, including Tony Bennett and Shirley Bassey. I grew up seeing Regine Velasquez on TV, belting her heart out every weekend on her Sunday variety show but I never really liked nor appreciated her. It was only a few years ago (three decades later) that made me realize why she's hailed as the Asia's Songbird, when I saw this video of her rehearsing at home, singing "You Are My Song/You'll Never Walk Alone": ruclips.net/video/pFxnN33OqTs/видео.html

Regine Velasquez is the most beautiful singer in our country the Philippines, Philippines have many many beautiful singer but Regine Velasques is the most❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Waleska is so cute geeking out about the techniques but almost 90%-95% of Filipino singers are not vocally and technically trained. For Regine was trained by her dad who is not even a musician. Great reactions, I am learning and understanding about the technicalities more because of how you both explain it.
Another amazing performance of the queen... 💯👍❤️🇵🇭 Shes the #1 singer in the Philippines, when she covers a song she owned it and make popularized her too much!...The FACT she's sitting the floor!
Awesome reaction to Ms. Regine Velasquez. The woman who started it all. The Queen of all divas. The national female singer of the Philippines.😅 Inspiration? Barbara Streisand, Kuh and Sharon (PH singers)
I have to say you have one of the better, if not one the best reviews/reactions I have watched and heard. It's both objective ( due to your knowledge of music), fair, honest and very entertaining. Regine is a beloved and respected singer in the Philippines and thank you for a very wonderful reaction.
I’ve been watching you for awhile now and I know I’ve watched this before but YT’s showing it to me again so it’s just fun to look back your first time watching her after all the other videos and Efra’s favorite phrase, “Regine Velasques yellow dress era”

One of her inspiration was the "MEGA STAR" Sharon Cuneta. The one she had a concert with entitled ICONIC... Regine was always vocal of her admiration for the MEGA STAR and the first memorized song she sang was Sharon Cuneta's hit song.

I always hear you guys reference theatrical styles of singing when you react to Filipino artists...One to check out then is Lea Salonga...Good Lord! This woman is the epitome of Broadway performance. 1. On My Own ( Les Miserables 10th anniversary concert as Eponine) 2. Dont Cry for Me Argentina (Evita) 3 . I Dreamed the Dream ( Les Miserables 25th Annv Concert as Fantine)

She was able to stretch whatever little money we had." - RegineVelasquez Regine's vocal style and singing ability have significantly impacted Philippine popular and contemporary music. Critics have called her "Asia's songbird" and she is often cited as one of Filipino music's most influential artists. 😊🙏🇵🇭
Thank u so much for this reaction,, a genuine REACTION .. Really enjoyed your honest assessment of it. She is the foundation of our younger singers to date. Put the country in the map sort to speak. I remember this was the 2nd night of her concert and wasnt fully 100% well. She was rushed to the hospital after of dehydration and fatigue. She was groomed by her parents musically starting at an early age. But her Dad was the biggest influence to her musical training of the dynamics, techniques and vocal control aspect. Her Dad used to let herself submerged in water, started from waist or belly during the earlier days and eventually going deeper up until like the neck on the latter part of her training while singing a song, She started singing at 6 yrs old, joined contests but wasnt really fortunate to win, At 14, from Southern Leyte, her whole family moved to Bulacan, ouside the capital , Manila. She had competed in a very tough nationwide televised singing competion, Ang Bagong Kampeon ( "The New Champion" ), which she defended her reign for record weeks. The all they say, the rest is history... SHORT BIO: Regine Velasquez-Alcasid (born April 22, 1970) and was hailed by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) as the Philippines' Best-Selling Artist of All Time, with more than 7 million units sold in the Philippines and another 2 million units sold across the Asian continent. She won the Grand Prize at the 1989 Asia Pacific Singing Contest in Hong Kong which then after the competition, Asian press started branding her informally as Asia's Songbird."In Love With You", a duet with Jacky Cheung, became such a hit and kinda paved the way for her internationally as she later did collabs with many international artists such as Paul Anka, David Hasselhoff, 98 Degrees, Alicia Keys, Brian McKnight, Mandy Moore, Ronan Keating, Stephen Bishop, Jim Brickman, Peabo Bryson, Jeffrey Osborne, Dave Koz, Jacky Cheung, Grasshopper, Coco Lee, Michel Legrand, David Pomeranz, Eduardo Capetillo, Fernando Carrillo, David Archuleta, Russell Watson and Singaporean vocal band Skritch. Amazing voice control and apparently measured her chest voice to a B5 note , which we all know 5th octaves are ridicously high standard tunes. New sub here..

I grew up seeing Regine Velasquez on TV, belting her heart out every weekend on her Sunday variety show but I never really liked nor appreciated her. It was only a few years ago (three decades later) that made me realize why she's hailed as the Asia's Songbird, when I saw this video of her rehearsing at home, singing "You Are My Song/You'll Never Walk Alone": ruclips.net/video/pFxnN33OqTs/видео.html
.
Has the chance to watch her live concert many times and I was like speechless everytime she sings. Her range is spectacular and I had goosebumps whenever she opens her mouth and begin singing. She was actually one of the highest paid artist here in the Philippines..👍👍🙌👏🙌👏🙌
Well this is one of her thousands of powerful performance ❤️🥰
Please more reaction of her in future 💖

Regine Velasquez, Asia's Song Bird looks up to Sharon Cuneta, Megastar and Kuh Ledesma, Pop Diva during her childhood.

One of her inspiration was the "MEGA STAR" Sharon Cuneta. The one she had a concert with entitled ICONIC... Regine was always vocal of her admiration for the MEGA STAR and the first memorized song she sang was Sharon Cuneta's hit song.
She was sick that time, that's why she's sitting.

"We were very poor but we were happy. My parents made sure that we ate on time and that was enough for me. [My father] had scoliosis and he was working at a construction site; he wasn’t earning enough. My mom was good with money. She was able to stretch whatever little money we had." - RegineVelasquez
Regine's vocal style and singing ability have significantly impacted Philippine popular and contemporary music. Critics have called her "Asia's songbird" and she is often cited as one of Filipino music's most influential artists. 😊🙏🇵🇭

Try to react Regine X Sarah g. singing Whitney HOUSTONS Medley on their UNIFIED CONCERT!! 😍😍 PLS NOTICE ME... 😂😂 THANK YOU!! 😇😇😇
SHORT BIO:
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid (born April 22, 1970) and was hailed by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) as the Philippines' Best-Selling Artist of All Time, with more than 7 million units sold in the Philippines and another 2 million units sold across the Asian continent.
Pls. React to Sarah Geronimo singing creep live concert. It is a mind blowing performance
love the critique and analysis. Thumbs up!
