Thinking about buying the M7. Currently have the Janome 14000, but have a hard time finding tutorials for this machine. Would love to see more free motion videos.
I have a ton of videos on free motion quilting here on youtube, but I also have a paid membership that covers the basics and beyond for several higher end Janomes, including the M7 and info on the 15000 that also applies to the 14000. The M7 is AMAZING!

Thanks for a great and thorough quilting with the M7. I absolutely need more classes on this. Please advise. Now it’s October 2021! And I can’t find much on the M7 especially the quilting features. Are you doing any free motion quilting classes right now? ❤️ my M7
I know this is late in the game, but I NEED the club!! Just bought an M7 in NC at my closest Janome dealer, and have gone from loving it to all kinds of free motion problems, Could it be the 50 wt cotton thread? Amy, you and your video are the BEST. You have given me hope.
Hola. Gracias.
I wonder why there is so little discussion on free motion embroidery. I’ve never had much desire to have a machine that embroidered someone else’s designs. I think this machine would be exceptional for free motion embroidery because you can use the knee lift bar to vary the width of zig zag, something that might work magic with the craft and I think the motor would hold up well. I’ve just put a deposit on this whale, and I’ll give some fme a shot and let you know.
I find that is OK without it, because when using the application menu for free motion, it increases the tension for you! Sometimes I do increase the tension a little bit more. The machine makes that so easy! It goes back to the normal tension when you are done.
What pressure foot did you use to do your free motion quilting? Did you use the straight stitch foot? I would be interested in your club Amy. Thank you for this video.
we just ended an enrollment period for our Clubhouse. Go to Amyquilts.teachable.com to get on the notifications list so you don't miss it in December when we open enrollment again.
Do you need a low tention bobbin case for free motion quilting for this machine? Are the feed dogs the same as those on the 9400? Can you use a leather needle?
I tried to use the walking foot with the quarter inch foot attached on my M7 but when I put on the correct base plate it automatically moved the needle to a middle position instead of the quarter inch position. So I had to put the regular base plate back on. I use a walkinf foot with the quarter inch attachment for binding.
I just got my M7 last week, and I’m doing my first free motion project (throw pillow sham) with it. Great video! I generally sew clothing, but I would be very interested in subscribing to your training videos. 😊🧵

My thread breaks after doing just a few stitches of FMQ with the PD-H foot. Only after I removed the bobbin holder then replaced it along with the bobbin I was able to FMQ. I am using the blue dot bobbin so I am unclear as to why resetting the bobbin holder would make a difference.
I struggle tocorrectly adjusting the tension for free motion quilting on my current janome which is a horizon 8200 can you show how easily it is corrected, on this machine. Also i just watched a video on non janome machine that needs oiling, does this one. is this a machine you will need to oil.
You can if you want. But using the applications menu to set up for free motion automatically increases the top tension for you. It does! You may need to fine tune it, especially if you are new to free motion and hands aren't smooth in movement, or if using an odd thread combination.
Technically, yes. Practically....I don't know that it's worth it. Longer rulers will wobble without a ruler base, and once you start rolling up the quilt, you'll be limited to a narrow field of stitching.

Why not use the blue dot (low tension) bobbin case that’s specifically for free motion?
You can if you want. But using the applications menu to set up for free motion automatically increases the top tension for you. Oh...M7 needs a separate walking foot...no accufeed? I have a 1600p Janome which I love but hate having to use a clunky walking foot for straight line quilting. Does the 6700 work well?

Does Janome S9 combo have an HP foot and plate?
How much is this model? Could you do more demos on this machine w/o subscription? Then I may be tempted to buy it from you! :)
