Damn!!! I've seen a LOT of rocket stove content, THIS one is the BEST design by far!!!
Thanks! I made several add ons for it that are working well, I recorded that content also.
That is awesome. You could sell this thing. Love it. Also that table is the cats meow. I think everything you used was right there. No walking around looking for things. 👍
Love my table
You have some really smart and well thought-out design choices there.
I think you took the simple rocket stove to a whole new level 👍👍
Thank you for watching
Thanks for sharing this is my next project.
Glad you enjoyed it
Waiting for part 2 😊
Hi Andrew, putting those new tools to good use, I have to say I love what you come up with. Andrew with your skills you can do anything in this crazy world we now live in. My cousin was very much like you. My brain just wouldn’t put that stuff together. I enjoy very much watching you put your skills to use. Good Luck and take care. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thank you Mr Ron
I need to see a collab video with you, Jimbo’s garage, Jimmy Diresta, and rainfall projects. That way we can have all four corners of the us working on something
Id love that!
Putting your new welding table to good use.
Yes i am!
Never knew how enjoyable your running commentary was. Please tell me what you are doing!!!!
I hear ya
I agree. We're back to silent films...
Pine = creosote for those wondering. Creosote is a carcinogen. It's also what causes black suet to form on the bottom of your pan if you were to cook with it.
Yep, thus the reason I'll never cook food directly over it. You'll still get soot and carbon buildup on pans from any wood.
Good job Andrew 👏
Love the designs and thought you put into making it very versatile. Agree, i can see a full circle heat guard as an option.
Glad you like it!
OVER THE TOP amazing mods to an already amazing stove!!
Glad you like them!
Heat shield can be used for a windblocker too good idea 🍻
Just watched this a second time, I’m going to build one for myself, thanks for the inspiration.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@TKCL Same here, I think the chimney needs to be a little longer to get a clean burn.
I'm a fan of the metalworking and solar projects. Good stuff.
Thank you for watching and the
This has to be the very best of the best. I've seen loads of these and this is my number 1. Its very smart, well designed and looks very efficient and I love the add on parts you've designed. If and when I get the time, I would if you didn't mind, like to copy your design for my own use.
Have at it, that's what RUclips is for. You'll enjoy the future episodes of all the accessories I'll be adding. Some are VERY unique.
Thanks for the heads up, i'l look forward to seeing what else you've done. You've done a fantastic job so far.@@TKCL
That's amazing work right there. It is much bigger than it looked in the early photo's.
Thank you very much!
What a cool, or should I say, HOT (at least while in use) project. Anyway, I absolutely loved the video. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome! That table is already paying off.
Love that table
If you can find an old throwaway one of those Comal pans, you can put it on there upside down and turns it into a really quite efficient little space heater for gatherings. Keeps it low enough so not blocking line of site of guests you may be talking to, doesn't have a ton of wood at a time so when your ready for bed only really need like 20-30 minutes to die down to safe levels etc.
You and I think alike....
How fun this was!
I love it
Great way to start the new build series.
A lot more projects coming!
Good day to all.
Good afternoon
@@TKCL It is, the best to you and your.
Great video that table works out awesome. are you getting a new demo tractor anytime soon?
Andrew, you do so many neat things, but the rocket stove is the neatest!!
Glad you enjoyed it
were gonna have to start calling you the master fabricator! cant wait to see your smoke box design!👍👍
Coming soon
Awesome build buddy.
Thank you
That's quite the cookin apparatus!👍
I love it!
You're living a Great Life
👍
Sure am, years of hard work to get here.
This is really nice...thank you for sharing this with us!
I use dryer lint & wax or lint & petroleum jelly for fire starter...depending on the conditions.
Thank you for watching
Nice job, well thought out, Hugh fan of multipurpose builds .
Glad you like them!
Hi, Andrew! Your new welding table is amazing. I can’t imagine all you have in store for us, but I know I’m excited. See you at 5:00. No Superbowl for me.
Thank you for watching
Excellent design, work, and explanation 🎈
Thank you very much!
Fun to have one of those! Nice job!
It sure is!
Beautiful brother! Very well thought through 👊🏼
Glad you liked it!
I want a small one like this:))) Just make sure to be extra careful if pressure canning, you have to keep the pressure stable, not easy with wood. I was raised with wood stove, remember how many times food was over or under cooked if nobody took care of fire. That one is great for parties:)))
Very true!
this is mad man... what a good job.. going to find some 125 square tube today
Thank you for watching
Great looking build.
Thanks!
Andrew I'm glad you mentioned doing a 360deg Shield, was thinking the same thing 👍
Also, how much does it weigh if you had to guess?
Probably 80lbs, im going to make a more portable version soon.
Oh wow, that's pretty good to be Heavy Duty, 👍
Very nice!
Nice build. You have smoke coming out of the feed tube. That means your draft is not working as well as it should be. You need to extend the fire tube to get a better draft. Or adjust the fuel cap so the smoke can get out and force it up the burn tube. In a rocket stove smoke is fuel, you need to capture that energy.
I'm also using rather green wood in these videos, so I'm not getting an efficient burn. I ran out of firewood last fall and I've been splitting as fast as I can.
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
You need a remote control on that welding table so moving it is easier on your back and legs. 😊
Make a tray with hooks for utensils and lids. Just a thought.
Nice work Andrew!
Thanks!
Love these builds. 💪🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job, love your toys!!
Thank you for watching
Vary good quality
Thank you
I agree with Mr coaster36 also it would be nice if you gave out the measurements and size of steel that you are using.
I seen you struggling with alignment, If you use the W tack technique, it wont keep moving out of alignment. Watch your angles when welding, GL
some good ideas you got there...
Thank you for watching
I'm in the process of also building a rocket stove/smoker/grill very similar to your's and cool to see how nice it works. Can't wait to finish mine.
You should do a raffle each week for all these new upcoming DIY projects, and announce the winner on your weekly livestream.
Great design considering the accessories it has.... :-)
More coming
Awesome stove. Love the channel and content. 😊
Thanks for watching
Use a silver Sharpie on metal. Works a lot better.
Thanks
🚀🔥
❤
I really like what u do in ur shop but I really think u could benefit from a band saw. My hand held band saw is by far my favorite go to cutting tool with In what it will cut
I want one.
Thats the biggest wok I have ever seen!
Lol it's a comal and it's awesome! Looking forward to cooking on it.
@@TKCL I heard you say it plenty but never saw one before and couldn't remember the name as I was typing 😂
Great video
Thanks!
There is a guy from Texas who builds rocket stoves and sales them on his Facebook.
Cool deal, i kniw a fee people myself.
I wonder if you filled it with charcoal and stuck some fire starters under the bottom, if it would work like the masterbuilt gravity fed smokers? Could be a good low and slow option. But I feel like it would just burn all the coal up and get crazy hot.
It's worth testing
Hello from the EU. I'm looking to build this exact stove. Can you give me some basic measurements please?
me: i have absolutely no use for a rocket stove.
also me: i think ima build a rocket stove
I know the feeling
Not sure if this was a "project" video or a "work table" demo.... LOL Both were impressive! 🙂
Love my table!
I want to see you use that comal 🫣
Soon
Loved watching you build...can't believe you used your cherry wood just to test boiling water since you love using it to actually cook and smoke with. Have you thought about trying to grow some cherry trees from scratch to replace or have more trees to use later down the road when you get older?
It was the driest wood i have. I have other plans for an abundance of cherry.
What if you hinged the extension? Very nice work!
You might already have this idea in mind but can't you make 4 handles out of rebar to put on each end of your work table so when you have to move it around you can maneuver it with the handles instead of hold on to the corners just a suggestion.
I do need to do something like that.
A forge !! for that secret attachment
You're correct kind of, I did buy a forge. But the attachments are something very different.
@@TKCL Would be cool if you could pull off a rocket forge.. lol
Wood fired jacuzzi?
What was the milimeter thickness and size of the square tube you used? And, was it made of iron, steel, or aluminum?
Raw steel, 6 inches by 6 inches square. Thickness was 3/16 inch, only because I couldn't find thinner.
@@TKCL Thanks! Would love to make this one too someday. I'll use your measurements for reference.
Hi do you have any plans for this or know rough sizes. Think I want to make one of these 👍
Hi from morocco, thanks for your efforts, is there any smokless rocket stove?
Not that I know of, thanks for watching.
I'm here
And second! 😉
@@TKCL 😕
Was that an Evolution 8 1/4 inch circular saw you were using? How do you like it and do you know if 8 inch Diablo blades will work on it? Also, if you were choosing between that and a plasma cutting for 1/4 inch plate, which would you recommend. Thanks, I love your videos!
That's the 7 inch version with their mild steel blade. 1/4 plate and long cut, I'll take the saw any day. Easier for me to keep a straight cut and the cut finish is excellent.
I don't live that far away.
When will you start selling these 😂.
I can load up my mini ex and do some work to trade out 😅
Great build Bud
Awesome rocket stove Andrew! What ya gonna do with that big steel tank next
To your pallet forks? Wink wink.
That old thing has been my burn barrel for a few years now.
Is there any way to put corner protectors on the table? I know nothing about welding tables but it seems dangerous to have the somewhat sharp corners exposed. If you were to fall and hit a corner, especially being home alone working, it could be a serious problem.
Ive already ground down the sharp points. You could grind or cut a radius on the corners.
Andrew, can you give a link for the Comal? Or however you spell it.
Here you go! amzn.to/3SA81vS
Wish I would’ve seen a cooked meal on it,
Video was already getting very long. That will be coming soon.
Sorry i was watching this early in the AM as i get ready for work. Was that 6X6 steel tubing you used or something bigger? I had the sound off so as to not wake the family.
Loved your video by the way.
Best regards from Canada, Curt.
Thank you for watching, it was 6x6 square tubing.
While I am not a fan of these no talking builds, I very much would rather watch them without any annoying, royalty free music, so thanks for that!
Lol, well keep in mine there's a kot of people that dint soeak English. Theae videos appeal to a muchnwider audience. Thats why im saving my talking for the end if the video.
@@TKCL Oh I wasn't trying to complain if that is how it came off, just giving my 2 cents and saying thanks for not adding music.
surprised you didnt round off the corners of that work bench.
There's no points
@@TKCL oh ok,
Part 4 DYI Rotisserie attachment?
🤔
Andrew how much do you reckon you have in material cost??
Easily 200 or more, that 6x6 tube is very expensive. I have way more than that in ordered costs, but I still have leftover materials to build another 2 or 3.
I need a stove like that. Wish I was close and you could sell me one.
Check out Chaisson smoke, he builds and sells atoves this size.
Have you thought about putting a plug at the end of each video inviting watchers to your Sunday lives? Sure to increase viewership across all channels.
I really should
Saturn V rocket stove.
Yep, agree with othered, not enjoyable especially when there’s a bunch of other rocket stove videos.
What i find fascinating is you click on a video titled Rocket Stove Build after seeing a rocket stove picture in the thumbnail to tell me you dont like rocket stove videos. When creators i watch make a video that doesn't interest me, i dint click on it. I can assure you that there will be plenty of other videos that are not rocket stoves.
My apologies. No I like seeing different people’s take on things like you doing 6” tube versus typical 4”. I was referring to the no talking like others mention. Your thorough commentary always elevates your videos.
On a side note, I like to listen to how-to videos while driving.
What does that thing weigh?
Probably close to 80lbs, ill be making a smaller portable version for us to cook on while fishing and going off road.
So, whats your cost to build and sell one??
Sadly no time, check out Chaisson smoke. He makes these commercially and seems like a great American small business.
@TKCL thanks Buddy. And i totally understand the time issue for you. 💪
Hi tell me is your rocket stove smokeless?
Mostly, especially with the damper open and very dry wood.
How much to buy one
I don't sell these. Sorry
Sweet wood stove Andrew. What is the price you’re going to charge for it???
None, no time to make anymore. Too many projects ahead.
@@TKCL I figured but these things could add extra money for you later. But I’m sure you already know that
Are you selling these?
Not at the moment, too many other projects. I recommend Chaission Smoke, he makes these for sale to the public. He also has a website under that same name.
@@TKCL Thank you
Talking during a build video is way more enjoyable. Please don't make these silent videos the norm.
Just keep in mind these videos attract a much larger audience that doesn't speak English. Theres alway plenty of talking at the end.
Im sure your core audience speaks English though. 🤷♂️
@@TKCL understandable but they can read subtitles. Its your channel so your choice. But you might lose some viewers. I don't want to watch a silent film wondering what that piece is going to be for just to find out at the end.
I would like the video better if at least had some explanation of what your doing when not using the loud power tools
Actually, I like the silent build part. Sorry to tell you this, Andrew, but I fast forward during the build part. I stop or go back when I see something interesting. I’m a 70 year old woman who isn’t a DIY’er, metal construction doesn’t interest me. But I truly love watching the end results of your building stuff! I’ve always been interested in rocket stoves! I can’t wait to see your accessories, I’m sure your genius is going to shine through. Have you thought about filing patents so you can make more money when you sell them?
I know you’ve had a few comments, so I won’t beat a dead horse. The issue with “silent movies” versus “talkies” is no one understands what you’re doing or why or how it pertains to the “whole”.
This project turned out cool, but I still have no idea why you did “what” you did, the “way you did it”.
I end up confused and wondering about the process.
Nicely done project though.!!!
Thanks for the feedback, I did a lot of talking at the end to hit those points. The struggle is a lot of talking up front discourages non English speaking viewers to continue, thus less views. I need to find a happy medium.
With this much use of elaborate expensive professional machineries, it's not fair to call it DIY TBH 😅
I completely disagree. The fact that I use tools to put something together doesn't mean it isn't DIY. How else are you going to put random metal together without a welder???
You can try scoring the sheet metal before bending it.
Correct, I've did this technique with thicker steel in the past.
Waiting for part 2 😊
