Marlin VS Kayak Fisherman | A Kayakers Dream Fish | Kayak Fishing Hawaii

- In this episode of SFH, I go fishing for a Big Marlin on a Kayak off the coast of Pokai Bay, Hawaii. This trip was my first ever Marlin from a Kayak. The previous day, many Boaters caught Marlins so I knew they were around. I got my Kayak ready and I started my trip off at 4:30 AM to head to my bait spot at Sunrise. I ended up catching 7 Bait's (Opelu) within the first 10 minutes of Sunrise. Once my Kayak crew decided that we had enough bait, I dropped one live bait back on 60# Leader and made my way to the Marlin zone. It didn't take long to Hook onto what a call a Kayakers Dream Fish. The Marlin towed me out to roughly 6 miles from shore at a steady 2.5mph for 2 hours before landing. Thank goodness my Kayak buddies, Isaac and Elliot, stuck along side me the whole way to assist in landing my dream fish. The fish was too big to load onto my kayak so I tied my fish to my Kayak and dragged him into shore which took me approximately 4 hrs and 30mins with such a heavy drag. I then took the fish home to weigh my catch and fillet it up to give to all my friends and family. The Marlin fillets was distributed within the first 2 hours of filleting with nothing going to waste.

It did!!! It's a TVC-66MH. I'm going to get the TVC-66H soon just for a little more backbone. But tbh, I feel the MH does well for 90% of what most Kayak Anglers catch here in Hawaii anyways. It's a little more forgiving 🤙
