In this Seagull fishing episode, I went out Kayak fishing in an attempt to catch my first pelagic species of the year. I start off with catching Mackerel Scad (Opelu) to use as my bait. I ended up hooking a few delicious by-catch, Hellers barracuda (Kawalea) and Rainbow Runner(Kamanu). 10 Minutes after catching the Rainbow Runner the winds shot up to 25-30 knots and the swells picked up to 5ft....
Menpachi Fishing Without a Glow Lure? + Biggest Aweoweo I've ever seen | Night Fishing Hawaii
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 года назад
I got a special request for Menpachi from my Family so on the hunt for Menpachi I went. Upon arrival to our Launch spot I realized that I forgot my glow lures at home. With only 2 hours until the sun comes up, I didn't want to waste it driving 1hr home and 1hr back. I figured it would be a great time to show you that you don't really need Glow Type lures when Fishing for Menpachi , It does help...
Marlin VS Kayak Fisherman | A Kayakers Dream Fish | Kayak Fishing Hawaii
Просмотров 9 тыс.3 года назад
In this episode of SFH, I go fishing for a Big Marlin on a Kayak off the coast of Pokai Bay, Hawaii. This trip was my first ever Marlin from a Kayak. The previous day, many Boaters caught Marlins so I knew they were around. I got my Kayak ready and I started my trip off at 4:30 AM to head to my bait spot at Sunrise. I ended up catching 7 Bait's (Opelu) within the first 10 minutes of Sunrise. On...
The Opelu bite was crazy! + A bonus Uku (Job Fish)
Просмотров 9 тыс.3 года назад
My first fishing trip in 2021 to catch my first fish of the year. Launched the Kayak out of Honolulu, Oahu at 5:00AM to go on a search for some Halalu (Goggle Eye/Big Eye Scad) for bait then got side tracked by a cloud of Menpachi's that took up my entire night phase. Once the sun peaked I went to catch Opelu (Mackerel Scad) for bait and for dinner. I ended up catching just over 4 dozen pieces ...
Catching a Massive Rainbow Runner! | Hawaiian Salmon | Kayak Fishing Hawaii
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.3 года назад
Kayak fishing outside of town, Oahu. In the morning it was dead calm and I had a tough time catching live bait since the water wasn't moving and the predators kept stealing them off my line while turning on my GoPro. I managed to catch 1 Mackerel Scad (Opelu) on camera, and caught 3 Opelu's off camera, which turned out to be just enough for bait. I hooked onto 3 Rainbow Runners (Kamanu) and one...
Catching a Tuna with NO Hook | Kayak fishing a FAD (Bouy)
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.3 года назад
I shouldn't have caught that Bonito. On this trip the baitfish was tough to come by but I ended up with enough for bait. Last Minute my Kayak buddies wanted to go check out a FAD (Bouy) that was 3 miles offshore. With the winds at about 7-10 mph we decided to just risk it for the biscuit. After about 15 minutes at the FAD we all ran out of bait because there were so many Barracudas lurking arou...
First ever Spinner Shark in Hawaii?! | Kayak Livebait Fishing
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.3 года назад
Is it a Spinner Shark or another shark species? What do you think? This was the nicest day of the week to go fishing and we had a late start. Having a few hours of low wind conditions we made this best of the situations by catching some live Opelu right at lunch time and hooking onto some fish for tonights dinner. On the way in, I hooked onto what looks like a Spinner Shark but I have never hea...
What kine lure you using
Epic!!! Thanks for sharing. 2 in the morning, you earned it
great video! I was wondering is 20lb leader too thick and too visible for the fish? or should it be fine. Im running 20lb braid on a 4000size reel w a 7ft ugly stik. Thank you!
Do you have e a fly tying video for those minnows? They look awesome!!
miss your videos; hows it going??
Does it ever tangle with the mainline ?? -- We use that at redondo beach on the west coast of California .
Wow💜💜💛💛💛💛💜
Sadly this guy hasn’t posted
FOUND THIS SPOT LAST WEEK GET SOME GOOD SIZE PAPIO’S 💯
Do you make your flies or do you purchase then?
What is the best way to cook those Papio? Thanks for all your tips.
Enjoyed. Thanks.
Very thoughtful one for you and one for your fiancé, that's a true fisherman 👍
How did u get to spot number 2 that's on private property
I was wondering as well. While we technically have shoreline access laws the closes access point doesn't allow to walk to this location...and even if it did you wouldn't be able to go on the pier. But maybe he knows someone there?
Chee i was just here today. Not much action nowa days.. so sad to see it…
We use bubble floats for spanish mac and other fish down here on the gulf coast.
What kine/size whipping pole are you using?
Badass 💯 Wow nice one bro 🤙🏽
The chickens are taking over!
I've never fished on the mainland before. Do Hawaii light whipping and dunking methods also work when fishing on the mainland? Like if I took a bubble float and some curly tail grubs and fished on the California coast, would I catch anything?
Is that Oahu?
That’s some great food fish! BBQ everyday! Thanks for sharing your adventures! It really is on the outer limit!
Lol! Kiss! Let’s eat!!
Loving it!
we chase ulua and bluefin at video, gt fishing 2020, on you tube

What’s your rod and reel?
Love my 25ii thing is a beast on the yak
Aloha! Thanks a lot I’m gonna try using this set up. Can you tell me about the pole details and reel you’re using in this video please? - James
Bro!! You soo humble!! I knew you were a PRO!! Remember me?? LOL I was up on oahu for training you was whipping your homemade MONSTAH mullet Flys
Yessah! Landing fish and dealing with all the unforeseen stuff on the yak! Adapt and overcome!
I heard of someone puting rocks in instead of water, they said it make noise to attract fish. have you heard of this?
Eh cuz, about 10-12 years was boogie boarding at Sherwoods at around 5:30 pm and as I was getting out of the water, I turned back to look at the ocean, at about 30 ft. from shore I see this spinning 3 ft. shark breaking the surface and getting air - unreal. I've been convinced Spinners are in Hawaii and you just might be the first to document them, congrats brah!
Can i just walk through to get to that pier? Just found this spot but im unsure if I can walk there from outside the gate.
Did you ever try going? Never did since there is a gate as well. We are talking about the "cove" correct?
ha i live 1 minute away from that spot
Great video thank you so much helped a lot I live on Maui Now used to live in Newport Beach California we used to do it it was called splashing normally we would use a shovel handle cut and a half foot pieces put Eye loops opposite ends on each side of the wood and then use that for casting really far and splashing and use a fly like that would catch Bonita yellowtail tuna thanks again Aloha for Maui
Very interesting why not go a popper. I have a spot to try this for some trevs.
I used to use a bubble float vs popper for two reasons: 1. Price. It's way cheaper to use a bubble float and for me some sort of soft curly tail grub or nehu strip. 2. Weight. As you can hear it get's windy in the islands and nothing like a nice heavy bubble float to have a nice casting distance.
Crackhead Pier 🤣🤣 We used to shoot sunrise photography there. Now I got into fishing and this is how I like to fish too. Glassy morning and awesome video. Keep up the killer vids 🤙🏽🤙🏽
need to know somebody? or can just walk through the gate?
Where is this at?
Awesome I’ve been shooting photos there for years and never knew can hook up there 🎣🤙🏽 Chee! 🤫🤫🤫
What are your favorite species to target from shore I’m going to Maui for a few weeks and I love fishing but I never catch big fish and the trigger fish always takes my bait granted I’ve never used the bubble rig setup maybe I’ll give that a go and see what happens
What was the gear used
Everybody got a fishing channel to show everybody all the haoles what for do.thats why nomore fish like before.
3 fat kamanu and in town too! Amazing.
