This is a real, all steel 1940 Ford. Frame off restored to factory condition. It's a beautiful truck with great colors and 5 white walls. It functions really well too, upgraded 12 volt system.
EXTERIOR: It's a sharp looking truck that presents itself like a show truck. It's all metal including the fenders and running boards. It is clean and straight, fits nice. Minor damage on driver's rear fender. Beautiful metallic burgundy body with black fenders. It is smooth and very glossy. Only minor imperfections if you go looking for them. The glass was replaced with safety glass. New rubber gaskets and window seals. The chrome all looks new: headlight bezels, chrome trim on the hood, door handles and bumper. It has an optional Ford locking gas cap. It's sitting on reproduction BF Goodrich Silvertown white wall tires. The rims are restored, new V8 center caps and optional trim rings. It also has the optional fifth side mount spare with matching tire.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting inside the truck right now, it's actually pretty comfortable. It looks great too. The inside metal is all painted gloss black. The gauges look like new reproduction. It has a new volt gauge under the dash because it's now 12 volt. The knobs, window cranks, handles and steering wheel look like new. Correct rubber mat on the floor. The seat is rebuilt and upholstered. Visors look new. The fiber board headliner is warped.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: smooth running flathead V8 looks like it was all apart not that long ago. It has an optional oil filter and an Empco engine oiler. It is also upgraded to a 12 volt for quicker cranking and easier starting. The carb was rebuilt. The distributor looks new, the alternator is disguised as a generator, spark plug wires are correct. It even has a reproduction Ford script belt, reproduction hoses and clamps. Every component looks restored, it painted and detailed up real nice.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the box is straight and painted body color. It has refinished floorboards and matching wood stake sides.
UNDERSIDE: It looks like it's had a body off frame, nut and bolt restoration. Literally just about every nut and bolt looks like it's new. All the components were apart and rebuilt: steering, suspension, brakes, shocks etc. It has a correct single exhaust system. The fuel tank and fuel lines have been replaced. Brake lines were replaced. Looking up at the motor it's exceptionally clean, the starter is clean. The 3-speed transmission is also very clean. All the metal, the chassis and floors, are clean and sprayed semi gloss black.
SERVICE: We inspected the truck and replaced the distributor, condenser, clutch, axle seal and cut the flywheel.
This is a beautiful 1940 truck ground up restored to factory " improved" condition. It's detailed down to the Ford belt but has a few upgrades like 12 volt electric, metallic paint and whitewalls.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

The rear microphone must have been right next to a rattle. I didn't hear that in person
