Yes, Kirstie had broken her ankle and if I recall correctly they did a Christmas tour and she did that mostly sitting down as well! She's also sitting in the videos from the album they put out that year too.
Just wanted to add that Kelly was instrumental in making PTX what they are today…taking them on tour with her, early on! She would even bring them out during HER performance to make sure everybody knew who they were…
Great reaction!! You really need to do O Come All Ye Faithful. It is totally different from the way we traditionally sing it. I think you will love it!
So glad you stumbled upon this one. Absolutely beautiful and one of many collaborations PTX has done with Kelley. Check out the one they did with her for her show when they did a romantic intervention. Kirstie was injured and still a huge contributor.
Another great reaction Travis. It's October 20th and never to early for PTX Christmas. Can't wait for you to enjoy Mary Did You Know. For pure harmonies... Silent Night.
That was beautiful. Kelly has an amazing voice. I loved that I could hear every member of Pentatonix in the background or harmonizing. Thank you for choosing this video. I have all 3 of Pentatonix NBC Christmas specials on DVR. I don't wait until Christmastime to play them. It's a year-round thing. They cheer me up.
A little history: Back in PTX's early days they went on tour with Kelly Clarkson. They were surprised how nice and real she was and that she would come and just hang out with them. They have remained friends over the years. Scott and Ben Bram formed the Acapop!Kids, which is a group of kids who sing a cappella. Right before the pandemic, Scott asked Kelly if she would have the Acapops on her show. They sang a medley of her songs and did a wonderful job of it. (It was on Facebook but apparently it has been deleted.) Speaking of the Acapop!Kids, I recommend their rendition of Shallow and their mashup of Bohemian Rhapsody/Somebody to Love. The videos have Pentatonix written all over them. They do not dumb it down just because kids are singing it.
I am so glad to see you starting PTX Christmas songs! You could react to one per day until Christmas and still not hear them all! I am a crier and cried my eyes out the first time I heard this one. It is one of my Christnas favorites and Kelly just took it over the top! Did you notice how at various times the PTX members would look over at Kelly and almost smile when she hit a particularly high note or sang sonething so well? They obviously think a lot of her. So cute!
If you want more Ptx collaborating with other artist, you should check out Jolene by Ptx and Dolly Parton (it's not a christmas song)but if you have time you should check it out, The cover/rendition is amazing!!!!
Excited for your Christmas reactions as a lot will be new to me too this year (haven't celebrated in over 5yrs). Great reaction. I love Kelly as well as PTX. She has a new Christmas album just came out too. 😎
You can certainly make a case that Hallelujah, Coldest Winter and God Only Knows are not Christmas songs despite PTX putting them on their Christmas albums but Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy definitely **IS** a Christmas song. It's from the classical ballet The Nutcracker with score by Tchaikovsky and a story that's set at Christmas Eve.
When they have a guest or featuring performer, Pentatonix usually takes a back seat to let the person they are singing with shine. Mostly I think due to respect for the status of the singer they are with but also because it's singing etiquette. I agree it would have been great for one of the others to come forward and sing a part (particularly Scott as the unofficial leader and because you can barely hear him on this at all) It's probably been mentioned in one of the MANY recommendations, but Scott does sing lead for a verse of Jolene. This is because Dolly herself insisted she wanted to sing WITH Pentatonix and not over them.
Yes poor Kirstie did hurt herself! 🥺 another REALLY amazing video where you get to see them adorably work around her because of it is Rockin Around The Christmas Tree! It’s so good! You also see her use a scooter through practically their whole Christmas tour in the PTXPERIENCE videos 😉 I know I keep saying it but I REALLY want to see you react to them! Start at Summer 2018 ep.1 though! 💙
Had never even heard of this before now! It was so pretty! There's a lot of footage on episodes of PTXperience of Kirstie using a scooter to perform and them celebrating when she got rid of it! Can't wait to see what you react to next!
OMG your Hocus Pocus shirt is giving me life! PTX was Kelly's opening act on tour and they've all stayed close since. They've appeared on a few special things singing with her.
I can't believe I never heard this until you're reaction ❕❗ And as someone who watches Kelly's Kellyoke moments from her talk show I was more like how does she make it look so effortless and then each member of PTX with something that stood out about each of their looks but was still cohessive and they sounded amazing next to Kelly's voice ❕❗☺️
You should watch some of the ptxperience episodes. It's behind the scenes of their tours. They have them for Christmas 2018 tour when she was in the cast using a scooter but they to all the way back to 2014. They're lots of fun.
Here are some Christmas songs that PTX have modernized. Check them out! The First Noel Silent Night (live) Angels We Have Heard on High That’s Christmas to Me Thank You (a PTX original) The Twelve Days of Christmas Joy to the World White Winter Hymnal And if you want to hear Matt have the lead throughout a song you have to do Mr Grinch!! There are more but that will get you started.
One of my absolute all-time favorite Pentatonix Christmas songs is 'Do you hear what I hear' featuring Whitney Houston's AMAZING vocals! Hope you love it as much as I do ❤️❤️
You should check out Pentatonix cover of Little Drummer Boy, Oh Come All Ye Faithful which they total changed the beat and put a unique twist on. Mary Did You Know is also awesome
These are wonderful to listen to, excited to see what else comes up. When you do go to the concerts it would be cool to see your concert experience/ reactions
I remember when they filmed that here (I live down the street from the Paris & was working next door at Planet Hollywood here in Vegas). Such a great song!
You know, I'm not a huge fan of Christmas itself or the cheesy music that comes along with it. I know. I'm in a very small minority. Welcome to my world. But that doesn't mean I don't have every one of PTX's Christmas albums. Because I may be a Grinch but I'm not about to cut off my nose to spite my face, especially with a face like mine. It doesn't need me to make a bad thing worse. But I digress. PTX can even make me fall in love with the cheesiest Christmas song there is - namely the 12 days of Christmas. So I'm going to recommend it, not as a Christmas song but as a Pentatonix song. It's a vibe. Well, several actually. I'd also like to put in a word for a vocal(ese) treat that I've never seen recommended, perhaps because it only has a visualiser and that is White Christmas by Pentatonix and The Manhattan Transfer. Harmonic bliss.
I'm in this group with you! I do not like Christmas music at all, especially 12 days. BUT when Pentatonix sings it, you better believe I'm all about it and bopping and singing along. The same with all of their other Christmas songs.
Please finish The Sing off! I'm dying for you to see #10 and #12 and remember, they were a brand new group, they were just formed right before the SIng Off.
Actually... PTX had... 3... Holiday Specials. This is from THEIR holiday Special. This one was fun. They were in Vegas, couldn't remember what happened lol. Did a song with Backstreet Boys on this one too.
Oh, you should react to Pentatonix and Tori Kelly teaming up on a mashup of Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry Be Happy. It's really fun. Its also one of their earlier Christmas songs, so its a good place to start chronologically too. Plus, and I think I may have recommended this once before, so forgive a repeat if so, you definitely need to do a 2 or 3 video roundup (just break every 3 or 4 songs, its 11 in total) of Tori Kelly's live performance at Capitol Records of her entire Christmas Album from last year. It's amazing. Better live than the actual album, which is already great. I think the video is called A Tori Kelly Christmas - Live From Capitol Studios. Its 100% worth the time investment. Or just try one random song from it first (two or three of those live performances later got put up separately from the long video, on her channel) then go back and do the rest of the special if you were impressed.
It's a great performance and Kelly is of course amazing - but yeah, I'm missing more of PTX. Thankfully many of their other collabs are better balanced: Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry w. Tori Kelly (and the version with Backstreet Boys too), Jolene w. Dolly Parton, If I Ever Fall in Love w. Jason Derulo, and of course their more recent ones with ATEEZ and Little Glee Monster. I'm always a little torn on "How Great Thou Art" with Jennifer Hudson. It's more balanced for sure and they all sound amazing - but I don't think her voice blends as well with theirs as it could have.
Wait! What? Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy isn’t Christmas? Pentatonix toured with Kelly Clarkson several years ago. I don’t remember the year, but I do remember they were in Dallas in July at an outdoor venue. I love PTX, but Dallas in July? Hell no.
Kelly Clarkson has a great voice, but I didn't like that she had all of it, she could have shared a little bit... still loved the way ptx made the background music :D and please react to Jacob Colliers Moon River 🙏🏼 it'll be so great! As always have a nice day and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
I have to admit that seeing them rearranged in the midst of the song was a bit jarring. It was Kirstin, Kelly, Mitch, Matt, Kevin, and Scott, and then it was Kevin, Scott, Kirstin, Kelly, Matt, and Mitch, all without missing a beat.
Kelly’s vocal are no joke, her control, the way she pulls back and her runs…She is so fuckin tasteful with her choice ah…Love her so much
Kelly's tone and vibrato are just UMBELIEVABLE and MAGICAL. She's blessed!
Yes, Kirstie had broken her ankle and if I recall correctly they did a Christmas tour and she did that mostly sitting down as well! She's also sitting in the videos from the album they put out that year too.
She used a scooter both for the tour and in some of the other performances from their christmas special.
Hi yeah for this one
Yes She broke her ankle and never missed a concert. She rolled out each night.
She’s little but she’s tough
Just wanted to add that Kelly was instrumental in making PTX what they are today…taking them on tour with her, early on! She would even bring them out during HER performance to make sure everybody knew who they were…
Great reaction!! You really need to do O Come All Ye Faithful. It is totally different from the way we traditionally sing it. I think you will love it!
Yes! One of my favorite PTX twists on a traditional Christmas song 😍

Thanks for another great reaction! I know you will get to "Mr Grinch" as requested soon but I love all their Christmas music!
A little history: Back in PTX's early days they went on tour with Kelly Clarkson. They were surprised how nice and real she was and that she would come and just hang out with them. They have remained friends over the years.

I think the Acapop performance is on RUclips. i watched it just last week. ruclips.net/video/CqKl973jypM/видео.html
My favorite PTX Christmas song is "Thank You" It was written by Scott and Mark Manio (Scott's boyfriend since 2017) during the Covid lockdown of 2020.
Until you do "Oh Come all Ye Faithful" you haven't heard PTX Christmas music LOL. Loved this. Love both these peoples.
PTX’s 12 Days Of Christmas is my fave Christmas song of theirs. That was fire 🔥 🔥 🔥!!!
She broke her ankle around Halloween that year and had to have surgery. So she did a Christmas tour and special with a scooter and cast.
Love Kelly every since American Idol. I've never heard this before. Matt and Kevin did carry that beat. They all sounded great. 😊
Man! Can she sing! I love that Xmas song. 🤗
I am so glad to see you starting PTX Christmas songs! You could react to one per day until Christmas and still not hear them all! I am a crier and cried my eyes out the first time I heard this one. One of my favorite Christmas songs they do is Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. Of course anything they do is my favorite!
Excited for your Christmas reactions as a lot will be new to me too this year (haven't celebrated in over 5yrs). Great reaction. I love Kelly as well as PTX. She has a new Christmas album just came out too. 😎

I can hear him, but he's folded himself into the backing vocals like the trooper he is.

Seconded! The videos are so much fun and let you learn a bit about them as people. Their interactions are cute, amazing, and fun.
@@thechomiji yes! I really keep trying to get more reactors to watch them!!!! I love them!
Kelly Clarkson can sing anything beautifully. Especially with PTX as her backup singers.
Had never even heard of this before now! It was so pretty! There's a lot of footage on episodes of PTXperience of Kirstie using a scooter to perform and them celebrating when she got rid of it! Can't wait to see what you react to next!

White Winter Hymnal

Kirstie broke her ankle actually! They did a Christmas tour where she had a scooter for her ankle that was decorated with Christmas decorations!
beautiful
One of my absolute all-time favorite Pentatonix Christmas songs is 'Do you hear what I hear' featuring Whitney Houston's AMAZING vocals! Hope you love it as much as I do ❤️❤️

I voted for Kelly on American Idol, I love her so much! Pentatonix is good too!
I have loved Kelly from the beginning too! Her and Carrie are my fav idols !
Love love love your shirt! My favorite Halloween movie!
Gorgeous!
You should watch The Grinch. Matt does a wonderful job in the lead.
Please do Where Are You, Christmas? Beautiful!
These are wonderful to listen to, excited to see what else comes up. When you do go to the concerts it would be cool to see your concert experience/ reactions
Love the Hocus Pocus shirt btw! I might need to find one!
Watch the song they did with Maren Morris ("When You Believe ", from The Prince of Egypt) on the same special. You'll see more of Kirstie's 'cast.
Yea!
I remember when they filmed that here (I live down the street from the Paris & was working next door at Planet Hollywood here in Vegas). Such a great song!
Try Grinch. It is perfection. Features Matt.

You should do their cover of cheerleader.
She broke her leg.
