The overwhelming state of information being shoved at us every milisecond. Most of it not good. And at some point you don't know what to believe. You want to stay informed but you also have to turn it off to protect your sanity. The second verse is from her personal perspective of a place of priviledge, doing what she can but feeling like that doesn't even scratch the surface. Whether it be fixing an actual problem and/or fixing her mental state.

So we are tied to our tv, computer and phones watching the news, feeling guilty if we are not up to date, becaming addicted to see bad news all the time, we are not informed and not making any difference at all and we are losing our mental health in the process thinking all this is normal, but if we turn off the news it looks we dont care about anything as well we feel guilty and come back again to the cycle. So we just turn on and turn off the news all the time all day to "keep informed" but we are acctually just losing our mental health.
