If you make music production tutorials or need to send a wip to a client, you might need to record your DAW screen and audio. In this video, I show you how to record your DAW screen on Mac, using OBS (or Streamlabs) and Loopback. If you are on Windows, it is the same, just easier as you won't even need Loopback! Hope it helps! 😃

I tried a million ways to do this without Loopback, there is no workaround. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
For Windows 10 users just use XBox game recorder, records what ever is in one window and audio is recorded to on the video as You hear it. With this there is no set up however it doesn't capture your face at the same time, and can not not capture pop up windows and plugings they will be invisible on the recording. However its good for DAWs like Reason and Ableton using stock devices all in one window.
To add dont use the mic on the app, instead use a microphone thats picked up as a live audio track in your daw.

Most of the modern audio interfaces (arturia, focusrite, steinberg…) got a loopback function built in, so that you don‘t need an extra software for Mac or pc audio recording.

Or if you have external sound card for your daw, which I assume most producers do, use it the as the audio source? I am not on mac but on Win it is like this. There is no need in buying a new software to make virtual loopback when you already have a loopback from the soundcard.
OBS works on my MacBook with M3 chip without Blackhole or Loopback, I used to use Blackhole on my last Macbook 🔥
Ohhhh that's a GREAT upgrade from Apple's side!!! Unfortunately I'm still on M1 haha
@@musicbyplv I think they changed something sometime ago. I also noticed I can now record desktop audio in OBS without loopback. I'm on M1 as well.

@@musicbyplv I recently updated to Sonoma, but im pretty sure it worked on Ventura as well. Maybe it's not supported on Monterey
@@musicbyplvyou can record without loop back, I have a M1 Pro. If you use the “MacOS screen capture” (which replaced “Desktop Capture”) from a few versions ago, it records audio as well

Hey PLV, just watched this video and your full breakdown from start to finish. Great work. My only question is where is the mic you’re speaking into being routed? It seems that it’s not going through your DAW. Is the input straight into the computer and your output from the computer being sent to OBS and from OBS to Loopback?
On mac I just open up a new zoom call, select share screen + advanced share options + share audio, then that pops up as an audio device option I can select when I screen record
