Yesterday on my way home what I saw was horrifying. That huge lake on the stretch, almost at Tuba toll both has become brown oo. I know my eyes didn't deceive me. That is the very water we buy from the water tankers when our pipes don't flow. This isn't looking good at all. Hmm

@@HeadlessRUclipsrheadless I like you and I’m part of the few guys who started this journey with you I think 2021, I want to ask, did you think of engaging yourself in farming after you lost your job in the Covid era? You have to know that not everyone will have the feeling of getting into farming, do you know how many years it takes for cocoa harvesting? It’s not everyone who has the time to wait for 2-4 years, if there were any other jobs in this country like people wouldn’t even think of doing this dirty job..
@KwajoChingy What are you doing about? Farming is broad, maize and vegetables take 3 months or even less to mature. Animal like poultry, snail etc are available. Note I have done galamsey myself before, I used to own chafan many years ago. Stop somewhere in 2016 and now doing farming.
@@KwajoChingy I didn't think of farming. Same way I didn't think of armed robbery. I thought of content creation and ventured into it. It took me about 6 months before I got 1$ from RUclips. Maize takes 3 months to grow.
There is no way to rationalise their threats of doing armed robbery if galamsey stops. Don't try to justify it.
We may be taking these matters lightly. The fact that these guys are threatening publicly to become armed robbers if galamsey is stopped means that it's more serious than we may think. I am of the view that instead of the use of force and destruction of the equipment the galamseyers use, Government should engage Chiefs, youth, religious leaders, politicians and security personnel to solve this problem in the safest manner.
Ghana police should start taking threats from these unscrupulous guys seriously. It appears these guys are gaining confidence because Ghana police are seemingly reluctant to arrest them.

If the claim galamsey is the only thing they can do, they should bring the guns and we would tell them the guns were moulded by human hands and not God.

People from the North wouldn't just start doing galamsey in a new area if those already there hadn't been involved. Let's avoid making this a tribal issue, or we'll end up creating unnecessary divisions, similar to how the issue has been politicized, even though it affects everyone, no matter their political party

What I was trying to say in simple words is that due to this galamsey, migration from the north down south is high. the labour force in the northern part of our country is reducing. And food is becoming expensive in the north. Unlike when I was in the north. My partner is from the I myself have lived in the north and I love those people. I don’t believe in any political party I’m just an agricultural farmer who feels our farming land is being destroyed.

Small Scale mining is different from galamsey... Small scale mining is legal and galamsey is illegal... A small scale miner can become a galamsey just by doing it illegally.. If you Have be given a site to dig and you do otherwise it becomes galamsey... Galamsey on the other hand is illegal.. You haven't been given any land.. And you take land by force or dubious means... You use bad methods and cause destruction.... The gold is smuggled and sold on the Black market...
It used to be different but now the small scale minners are even causing havoc, a typical example is akonta minning, he is small scall but he is destroying the forest reserves because Nana passed a law to allow these small scale minners into our forests...
