In two days, it's Thanksgiving Day here in America. My daughter-in-law cooks a "killer" turkey (and it looks like turkey😊). Along with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, peas, collared greens, macaroni & cheese, and apple & pumpkin pies. I can't wait!😋
Hi Mac and Steve, Great video from you both, you go well together. What sort of Christmas dinner has no sprouts or roasties, and Yorkshire pud goes with beef, not turkey, imo!! ❤❤
I've now seen 3 reviews of Spoons Xmas dinner and this was the most positive of all of them. A very generous score! Elsewhere the carrots and parsnips were inedible so you were lucky. You could start with 10 and deduct points as appropriate: No sprouts - minus 2 No roasties - minus 2 No Yorkshire pudding - minus 1 Processed 'turkey ham' slices - minus 2 = Total score of 3/10 No sprouts or roasties on a Xmas dinner is a crime against humanity. And the prices at Spoons have gone through the roof. Far better and cheaper elsewhere which probably explains why a lot of Spoons are almost empty even at peak times. My local one (Newark) has actually closed down.
The one in gainsborough not far from Newark is always packed, BUT they do sell carlsberg cheaper than any other spoons I've seen, it was £1.99 a pint for years, but up to £2.39 last I checked
Not for me that Christmas dinner ,I thought it was expensive ,,I think my fav Christmas ad was the yellow pages with the girl stood on the yellow pages book waiting for a kiss from the boy holding some misoltoe 🌲
Christmas adverts were awesome back then. Action man, Scalextric, Top of the pops latest album. Mousetrap and buckeroo were always on someones list. Good times. 🎅
It's probably a higher price because of the location. Blackpool promenade is notorious for being slightly dearer, so other branches of the chain may be a little cheaper.
No yorkies on Christmas dinner due to no room with all the different veg, roasties and sprouts, but we usually have Boxing Day roast with yorkies, if we're entertaining.
Have seen other vlogs of Spoons Christmas meals and they aren't as complimentary as yours. I would go with a 4. I have to have sprouts, roast tatties, and Yorkshire Puddings included in my Christmas dinner and I am from down South. Did they offer Christmas Pudding? 😁
We are all waiting for this epic event. I've got my pigs wrapped in blankets . The Turkey is running around the garden like a headless chicken & my nuts are roasting by an open Fire & it's painful. PS the things I do for this Channel! PS who does sprouts?
I thought it was a good meal for the price to be honest mate and your score was very fair. Too many Anti-spoons snobs about. You'd pay double and get leas for that in most places. You got a drink with it as well so I'll go with an 8/10 all things taken into account. As I've said to you a few times, i honestly have never had a poor meal at a Wetherspoons. Thanks for sharing buddy👍
2 legends in1 video ,what more can I say ,bring it on 😊,praying for the blond angel also in more more xmas, new year video ,🙏, looks tasty no sprouts or yorkie so an 8 for me 😊,coca cola xmas ads best for me ,unbeatable
Hey hun I must say that if was a Christmas dinner. We're was the sprouts and the Yorkshire pud and for the price £14 45 day light robbery. No stuffing for me can't eat it. Lovely to see Steven again my score is 4.5 we're was the roast spuds and gravey xx
My late father in law prepared a beautiful Christmas dinner years ago..he made yorkie puds and served the meal..a guest remarked.. Yorkie pud's dont belong on Christmas dinner..his stone faced reply was..well they do now...and the look said..eat it or go home..50 years on we still chuckle..and positively have yorkies with Christmas dinner..'its the law'..in our house anyway..🤣😋👍
Yorkshire Pudding is an essential part of Christmas Dinner when it is seasoned with onion and mixed herbs, The best advert when i was young was the Triang Hornby electric train sets with a small Bernard Cribbins as the station master.
Absolutely not should a yorkshre pudding be on a Christmas dinner. The three items that have to be there to stop t being a normal roast are cranberry sauce, sprouts, and pgs in blankets. And none of those things should be on a standard roast.
After shopping trips, we used to call into our local Wetherspoons for a 10oz Aberdeen Angus steak dinner, with a pint for approx. £12. It was some of the best steak which I've had. But in 2018 they changed meat supplier and the quality went downhill fast. Today, it's a very average 8oz sirloin still £12. Disappointing. ☹
With no roast potatoes it's hardly a Christmas dinner! The meal looked too Brake Bros for my liking. The peas had a colour resembling marrowfat peas, so bright green were they.
Great to meet you before your Spoons Christmas dinner. You were more generous with your scores , than they were with the food… where were the sprouts ffs😆👍
The last time I was in Blackpool my footwear got stuck to the carpet in Yates’s…it was like trudging through treacle😂. A ride on the rollercoaster the following day cleared the senses😂
Hi Lee It’s Thanksgiving day in the USA on Thursday,so your USA viewers will be wondering why a Christmas dinner 2 days before Thanksgiving day ? Take care
That captain Pugwash thing isnt true whatsoever. its just an urban myth, In 1991, the Pugwash cartoonist John Ryan successfully sued the Sunday Correspondent and The Guardian newspapers for inaccurately claiming that some Pugwash character names were double entendres.
Brussel Sprouts parsnips and No never had yorkshire pudding with Christmas Dinner but I would like it but to be honest with a plateful of rosti potatoes as well And Christmas Pudding with good oll Custard I am stuffed not to mention the Stuffing oll Matron😁😁
Some years ago we had a Spoons Christmas dinner. Where we sat we could see it being plated up. The dinner was all boil in the bag just like Gordon Ramsy.
I've just tried it, it takes me back to my late 80s early 90s primary school days, the smell and texture of it....but it was fairly tasty and with a large glass of wine included in the drinks deal it wasn't too bad...the glazed carrots were a nice touch!!
Looks like school dinners! No Roasties, no sprouts and processed turkey! Will give that a miss! 😂. Love the fish and chips videos though! Much higher standard of food! Plus I'm amazed at some of fish and chips prices! Think we get ripped off down South! Love all your videos! ❤❤
Mmmm love a Christmas dinner! The spoons dinner….. hmm processed turkey, o.k for a sandwich not a dinner like that, no sprouts or Yorkshire pudding! 😱 I mean like you say Wetherspoons has its place, if I was starving and fancied some unlimited coffee/tea didn’t have many other options I would probably go, but like you say, paying a bit more and getting a lot better seems like the better choice! Score 6 for me. I think Christmas dinner is whatever you want it to be, I think it’s actually making extra special gravy that really makes the dinner! 🥰😆
Mister Macmaster! Great seeing Mr Blackpool Steve backnon the channel he is a bloody legend 🙌 👏 Wetherspoons is exactly what it is no frills just decent food & not too expensive BUT..there's definitely coming a fine line between do ya pay a bit more somewhere else for better quality 🤔🤔 Christmas starting back when kids go back to school in September bloody joke !! All for.1 day!!!!😮😮 The train CocaCola ad us synonymous with Christmas 🎄 ❤🎉
One best advert was kiora adora lol I'll be your dog 🐕,, wasn't Xmas but top advert, or Charlie says don't play with matches lol 🐕 Andy from Morecambe respect pal in Lancashire ✌️
Captain Pugwash and Roger The Cabin Boy 😂. Thinking its just a fallacy. Spoons probably best deal for Christmas lunch and nice Chanteney carrots, but where's the sprouts and roasties? Great vlog always nice to see Steven. Adverts for Radio and TV times.
Yes for yorkshire pud with the xmas lunch, the meal itself would not have like the turkey not being a fresh/frozen turkey, would have gone somewhere else that would have 😊
Pint of Ruddles Best for £1.77, wowsers, almost takes me back to the 80’s when growing up in Uttoxeter and I could go out for a night with a fiver, have five pints and still have change for chips, saveloy and curry sauce on the way home! Meal looks a bit like one of those frozen dinners from the supermarket. “You sunk my battleship” “Action Man, with gripping hands and Eagle Eyes”
Hi Lee, it looked OK apart from the plastic turkey. As you said, price OK in the current climate. "Jam sauce" ho, ho ho! Yes to Yorkshire puds (with everything, well almost).
For people on a lower income Spoons makes a perfect alternative instead of being at home: we all deserve some Christmas cheer ❤
Must be nice 😁
@@ZeppelinZebedee couldn't tell u 😁😁😁 I never eat out anyway
Well said
@@nolavout3025there's one in every village!❤
It was 15 pound .I cook at home a great meal for 3 pound each
Welcome to Sunny but cold Blackpool 👍Saw You and Stephen in Town🥳🥳
I'm from Yorkshire and Yorkshire puddings go on any roast dinner.
Just seen Geoff's new vid saying he is looking forward to your Wales trip and hoping that your EV does not burn you to death!
Things are kicking off with Steven and Macmaster in Blackpool lol
😂
Ma Kelly's after 😂?
Crikey looks like Spoons has been to Home Bargains buying their microwave dinners in. Great Video thanks.
no roast potatoes now thats controversial
In two days, it's Thanksgiving Day here in America. My daughter-in-law cooks a "killer" turkey (and it looks like turkey😊). Along with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, peas, collared greens, macaroni & cheese, and apple & pumpkin pies. I can't wait!😋
In the UK that's just a Sunday roast 🤣 a proper carvery place does things much better for less money 👍
Walk on the wild side is always such a nice guy 😊
🙏🙏🙏
Hi Mac and Steve, Great video from you both, you go well together. What sort of Christmas dinner has no sprouts or roasties, and Yorkshire pud goes with beef, not turkey, imo!! ❤❤
Looking forward to this one. 2 of my favourite channels and a preview into what I shall be eating on Sunday afternoon at my local spoons
🙏
Missing roast pots and lovely sprouts. 💨
What's missing is roast potatoes
and……..sprouts!!!!!!
Also missing yorkie puds.
I saw some, I thought, or maybe just one 😆
Roasties and Yorkies😂
Stride on
Good to see Lee and Stephen back together again can't wait until Xmas by the sea lovely food review both love it thanks 4 sharing xx
Looking forward to this and good to see you and Mr. C last night.

Me too. Other reviews of this meal noted the lack of sprouts, roast potatoes and the processed turkey.

It's probably a higher price because of the location. Blackpool promenade is notorious for being slightly dearer, so other branches of the chain may be a little cheaper.
Once you've been to Blackpool, there's no going back!
No yorkies on Christmas dinner due to no room with all the different veg, roasties and sprouts, but we usually have Boxing Day roast with yorkies, if we're entertaining.
You can now get your Cadbury creme eggs in B&Ms, if you've done your Christmas shopping and want to start on Easter, lol.
My 2 favourite youtubers together again! I suppose as spoons grub goes it wasnt that bad but missing good old roasties
Lee how about a outtake special for Christmas you must have some on the cutting room floor.
The Two Legends Together Again 👏👏👏👏 Another Great Video
Informative video... at least people can now make an informed decision on whether they want to spend their good money on eating slop or not (not)

Sprouts, yes. Par-boiled, then fried off with some finely chopped bacon then a bit of double cream!
It's not a Christmas dinner without roast potatoes maybe spoons couldn't get a cheap deal with Aunt Bessie
I hope it tasted better than it looked..cos it looked rank
It would be better with sprouts and roast potatoes.
I about to mention, " what no roast potatoes".
I thought it was a good meal for the price to be honest mate and your score was very fair. Too many Anti-spoons snobs about. You'd pay double and get leas for that in most places. Roast potatoes makes a roast meal
Hey hun I must say that if was a Christmas dinner. We're was the sprouts and the Yorkshire pud and for the price £14 45 day light robbery. No stuffing for me can't eat it. Lovely to see Steven again my score is 4.5 we're was the roast spuds and gravey xx
Love you 2 together 😂 Not enough roast potatoes & too much mash on that dinner imo.
Yorkie puds definitely belong on a Christmas dinner, and a bit of bread sauce, mmm… Shame there’s no roasties either.
My favourite Television advert at Christmas was the Hornby railways with Bernard Cribbins as a tiny man with the Hornby trains whizzing past him.
Yes!!!!!
@@TheMacMaster I'm going to search for this one now, not seen this since I was a child, I'm 50 now.
Yes need Yorkshire pudding and Brussels sprouts and roast potatoes always on.christmas dinner

Value for money I give it ten out of ten. In my local a pint is 5.70p and a beef burger is 12.50p.with chips.
Yorkshire puddings with a Christmas dinner 💯 yes or with anything else sweet or savoury 😋
Haha, I remember the lad eating on the coaster and it was a certain Fix it.
Lovely to see the Xmas Decs in spoons and the fires on. The meals looked ok but no sprouts or roast tattys! Great seeing Mr Blackpool too 👍
I’d definitely give that dinner to the dog lol
Yorkshire pudding is pefect for any roast dinner even Christmas roast dinner
Not a Xmas dinner with no roasties so for that point alone it can only get a 3/10 at most
Yorkshire Pudding is an essential part of Christmas Dinner when it is seasoned with onion and mixed herbs, The best advert when i was young was the Triang Hornby electric train sets with a small Bernard Cribbins as the station master.

Meat, gravy, sprouts, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and stuffing. Thats a proper xmas dinner and all you need, then a sherry trifle 😊❤
With no roast potatoes it's hardly a Christmas dinner! The meal looked too Brake Bros for my liking. The peas had a colour resembling marrowfat peas, so bright green were they.
Hot chocolate is also unlimited - very good on these cold days.
Yorkshire pudding on a Christmas dinner= a big yes
That looked like the fast food version of an EV
Great to meet you before your Spoons Christmas dinner. You were more generous with your scores , than they were with the food… where were the sprouts ffs😆👍

Did you expect them to have ovens full of freshly roasted turkeys and spuds, ready to carve as soon as punters turned up?
I've just tried it, it takes me back to my late 80s early 90s primary school days, the smell and texture of it....but it was fairly tasty and with a large glass of wine included in the drinks deal it wasn't too bad...the glazed carrots were a nice touch!!
