Thanks for doing a costs video. I really find them interesting, not just cos I’m nosey🤥, but I’d like to do full time vanlife some day and, although some people don’t like talking about money, you need to be able to work out if you afford to live in a van.
My only vice is tea, it’s all I drink. I even take a small camping stove in the back of the car to make a brew. Oh, and it has to be Yorkshire Tea (I’m not sponsored by them 😂).

@@matthewvaughan6327 I'm the same, I've carried a camping stove in my car for years for tea lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one.
And I agree, I think its good to know what kind of costs youre letting yourself in for. Before i did this I didn't have much of an idea how much it would cost to live this way, and I think I'm pretty frugal, I'm not into material things, which is good cos i don't have the room to carry stuff. As long as i have tea, a roof over my head, food in my belly and a warm blanket...oh and obviously Miss V :) I'm good 😊

@keepitreal1547 Tea Belly 😁. I think the biggest decision you make when choosing a van is whether you want to be able to get under car park barriers i.e. a fixed or elevating roof smaller van, or something larger.
In my experience, you wouldn't want to spend long periods in a small van. Some people can manage it, but if you're planning on longer breaks, I would hire a small van and see how you cope before buying one.
One thing you can do in all motorhome sizes is enjoy a cuppa tea 👍

Cockerpoos are gorgeous, so much energy haven't they, that'll be the cocker in them. Newbie subscriber here. Hi Cat, enjoyed your vlog of monthly outlay costs personal to your set up. Surprisingly lots of Vanlifers give a similar outlay figure based on Van already paid for circa £700 to £800 a month. Shocked at how steep your insurance costs you. Im guessing its cos you are still a young un and perhaps Rig is converted not as spec Coach built by r3ecognosed professional firm like say Autosleeper. Liked your background music, reminded me of a band ive always liked since early 2000 called Zero 7. Anyway enjoy your freedom and adventures and look forward to next vlog.

@@grahambroome8781 @grahambroome8781 honeslty, I'm not that young and Ive used my full 9+ years no claims on the insurance although that doesn't seem to make a difference these days. I've had vans/ motorhomes for a while now. It was converted when the van was built by a company called Timberland, but the insurance compnies don't seem to recognise that for some reason. Who knows what their issues are 🤷 I wish it was cheaper, it was when it was on recreational use only.

@@keepitreal1547 For me, its a combination of things, driving around and coming across a good spot, I rarely look at google maps, but I have done and I look for bodies of water, large fieles or country parks which usually have somewhere nearby if theres not a free carpark. Last night I stayed on the road leading to an industrial estate, and I have a view over fields and hills. I was tired, I didnt know the area but I just happened upon a pretty nice spot. I love nature but not every spot I stay at is where I would chose. I've parked on housing estates, and main roads but never in the line of sight of someones front door/ personal space.
