I know that Reconnaissance Mission is the better card but if we’re playing so heavily into the Pirate theme, Coastal Piracy feels more appropriate.

I was possibly going to make this a goad deck with abilities and spells that let me discard at instant speed this way I can buff the goaded creatures and help them deal more damage being it just says “target creature”.

It will be so nice to just have a grip full of combat tricks essentially when you are making things swing at each other.
Invasion Plans is a sweet enchantment. It states "All creatures block. The attacking player chooses how each creature blocks each combat."

I'm really looking forward to brew the Cap'n, but can't avoid being worried about the rate it churns through the library, so I was thinking of adding WAR Jace, Labman and Thoracle as a contingency plan (or maybe the Eldrazi titans to shuffle the graveyard back into the library)

The deck itself looks really fun and the commander is really cool, but I worry with every list I see that it relies too much on the Captain.
Every list I've seen so far has left me wondering what to do if the Captain gets Darksteel Mutation'd

keep in mind your commander has ward, so anyone targeting it has to pay more AND LIFE to remove it. But if your countermagic can't keep the Captain safe blue has plenty of bounce you can include to get rid of a pesky enchantment.

@@CommanderMechanic My typical pods tend to have a lot of Boardwipes so whenever I see lists like some others I've seen that go-wide but have zero ways to stop boardwipes I cringe a little haha. Ward 2 will also not do much when it comes down to a monolith commander, but it's much less an issue with this list so I like it.
