I just want to let you know that when you speak about your family and the tumultuous relationships that you’ve had in your life, the way you have healed, the way that you’ve learned, the way that you have grown from those experiences, you are providing so much solace and comfort to others that are going through their own personal valley of death. Seeing you find peace and happiness definitely reminds me that the hard times are temporary. It’s not forever.

Oh Sumi (hugs), I have so much that I want to say to encourage you, but let me just share what I can…
We your subscribers are proud of you and the life that you were able to create for yourself despite the hurt and pain that you carry. What you went through was not your fault. The thing that sucks is that in order to have a good, full, & fulfilling life, it is your responsibility to heal from the wounds that they caused, even if they never apologize or even acknowledge it.
Prioritize your healing regardless of how it makes them feel. Don’t even consider if they notice it or not; you are doing what is necessary for YOU! If it means going no contact, then that is what you should do without any guilt. If it means unfollowing certain people because they may trigger you, then that is what you should do.
Your mom made her choices and I even sympathize with her for making the choice that she made when you were born, it was a very complicated decision but I can understand why she made it BUT… it was her responsibility to find healing for herself no matter how painful the path may have been. She knew she had an innocent child in the world, growing up with her family, that was navigating life without her. Yes, it was absolutely not her fault what happened to her, but it was/ is her responsibility to heal from it (especially for the sake of her child), even if she didn’t want to take on the role & responsibility of “mother”.
The fact that she goes out of her way to rekindle a relationship with the family that she cut off except for you and develop a relationship with your younger cousin without regard of how that would make you feel is callus, but I can kind of understand it because that is her family and your cousin is her niece but she never really saw you as her daughter, more like just a vessel to bring you into this world… and maybe for the sake of your own healing, that is how you should see her too.
I thank God for your life because you are a strong woman and you don’t look like what you’ve been through. You bring smiles, laughter, and comfort to many of your subscribers on a weekly basis. I pray that you receive perfect healing and that you prosper abundantly in all that you set forth to do IJN!

My mother wasn’t graped but she had a 10+ year relationship with my dad. They had my older brothers and broke up while she was pregnant with me. He moved on got married, had some kids, got divorced and remarried and had more kids. I was still the ONLY girl. His current relationship/wife has been over 30yrs now. I am 38yrs old currently. I’ve had a relationship with all my siblings and step mom but for some reason was completely ignored by my dad. 15+yrs ago I found out my step mom had a daughter (older than me and wasn’t raised by my step mom) and it’s very painful to see Facebook post with her praising how great a father he is. So, I completely understand the need to separate myself from people who don’t truly acknowledge what they are doing is wrong. I get that my step sister needed a father figure but to ignore me 36 out of the 38 years I’ve been on this earth (and for no damn reason) is crazy.

Sumi, this is my first time hearing your story. It is so sad that such a lovely, kind hearted person had to go through that. I don't really have any words of wisdom but just know that there are people who could only wish for the best for you, me included. You deserve the world and so much more. I like to think of my family as an infected limb that was hurting me (metaphorically and literally). I cut them off and it's a relief. And in the end, you learn to live without that limb, even though it's difficult at the start. And you're making so much out of your life now. You've got this Sumi!!

The trauma March children experience. I truly have questions. Why? I'm March 4th and it was an experience. I am grateful for the blessings though beyond the pain. That you mentioned it, there is truly something to it.
I remember that vlog from five years ago as I was making the decision to go no contact with my extended family. I found comfort in your words and I learned how to show up for people who show up for me.

Your story brought me to tears 😢. Forgiveness is hard. A lot of us don’t have the best relationships with our mothers and I can say my mother hurt me tremendously, she’s still in my life and I found the courage to forgive her. But you never forget that pain. My dad raised me until I was a teenager. Like you my childhood was not perfect, but it was really good with my dad, until I went to live with my mother. Look how far you’ve come. I know you don’t know me but I’m so so proud of you ❤. You’re so blessed and I love how your husband treats you.

I just want to say I’m proud of you. As a looooong time subbie, I’ve watched your growth and seen how you’ve blossomed over the years. You had always been pretty private, but now you’re willing to open up. I’m not grateful for that in an “oooh, I want to know all of your life” kind of way, but as a “bastard” child who also rebelled, I carried shame as well for something I had no part in. I was the result of lies, but that didn’t diminish my value. It took me a long time to realize that and speak about it. I never used to let people in, but now I can openly speak to those I trust. Seeing you open yourself up to others who genuinely care about you - because we do - just makes me happy to see YOU grow and heal from things that have truly broken others. For me it was my father. He passed away on 6/14/24. I found out we went around apologizing to my cousins for his behavior towards them and me, his daughter he NEVER apologized to me.
However, towards the end of his life he depended on me a lot and I acquiesced.
We move on, keep our own families and understand that we will never treat our kids as we were treated.
He got saved and accepted Jesus before he passed and I was good.
I’ll keep you lifted Sumi🙏🏾 You’re good, successfully blessed and well loved by your husband. Period.

Girrrrl, i cant BELIEVE I missed this vlog but luckily i scrolled through yih tube and found it. Im so mad at myself. But listen.....the fact that yoh can talk about your past and ALSO laugh at it at the same time shows your slowly healing. And thats a good sign.
