He spoke with Paul Sweeney and John Tucker on Bloomberg Radio.
Disappointed to an extent. Is Apple genuinely admitting defeat? I was under the impression Apple had something in the works!!
Apple is never good at innovating. That's why the narrative of "Apple does it after everyone because they want it perfect" is run. Apple is really bad at R&D. It's apparent from how they manufacture their smartphones. They take off-the-shelf parts from Samsung, Sony, SK Hynix, and Snapdragon for modems and it gets put together by Foxconn. Heck, even their processors are fabricated at TSMC. You will never hear that Apple came up with this screen or this sensor. They can't make foldable or Watch sensors or even make modems, Most of the time their innovation is removing something.

So they cancelled Apple Car and is now planning to use Google AI on their phones . And change their connector to USB-C.

I believe the problem is that training AI models would require a lot of data being collected and used.
This completely goes against Apples rhetoric of data privacy, which in turn is a major driver for iPhone/hardware sales.
Why risk reducing revenues of a cash cow for something that may or may not generate the same kinds of revenue.
Remember the reason Siri lagged significantly behind Google Assistant is because of how each company treats user data.

This is a failure and Tim Cook should step down and leave because of it. What is the point of purchasing 20 AI companies for apple if they have to end up incorporating google AI in iPhone. Why not incorporate Microsoft AI?

Most of us went with the iPhone over Android due to Google's shenanigans with our data, how will this be any different? I have serious concerns but the bigger problem is, they are the only two players in town!

I hope it’s not just like using open ai. I’m looking for an assistant that works. Siri is pretty bad and yet I still try to make that work. We need that problem to be a major focus. And then consider Vision Pro. Right now there isn’t much of any AR aspect to that product. The term spatial computing basically admits that. If you can start discussing the things you are seeing in reality (through Vision Pro) with an assistant that can pop into your visual space, that significantly changes Vision Pro and the future iterations of that product. If I want art generated I’m probably going outside the Apple ecosystem. If I want help writing a story or essay I may be (and don’t mind) going outside the Apple ecosystem.
Apple was too focused on VR and electric car and missing out on the biggest next wave, AI. “Hey Siri, is Tim Cooke’s days numbered”?

Not only that, i feel right now e commence among other sectors are expected to really see growth but who know i might be wrong, These days the market is filled with surprises.
With the current state of the market My advice to anyone starting out in the market is to seek guidance as its the best way to build long term wealth while managing your risk and emotions with the passive investing strategy.

Regardless of whether or not she outperforms i will always stay invested as her methods alone with keeping investors in touch with their strategies and outlooks are something that so few managers are capable of and they should follow suit
I think people have forgotten that iPhone was the ultimate Google phone when it came out. It featured Google Maps and RUclips. Also, Microsoft Word was first on Mac… I think people forgot what kind of company Apple is. They create technology so that other companies can have a really innovative platform to put their services on. That’s what Apple likes to do.

Apple had an opportunity to do this years ago with Siri. The same team that created Siri is the same team that's doing Samsung's ai. Tim Cook could not see the vision of Siri at the time. That team went over to Samsung to create bixby.

Apple will make their own AI, it will be small models in a “mixture of Experts” type of setup, that will run locally on Apple hardware. This is how Apple will secure user data. They may use data from Google to train their models tho.
Dude needs to realize that the people working on an Apple car, especially self driving, are working with AI. The tech isn’t new, it’s just getting much easier/cheaper to do. You need data and GPUs, even better if that data isn’t owned/visible to competitors.

The next big thing for apple would be to increase price of iphone by at least 1500$, this will make sure their profits are doubled overnight.
Meta and OpenAI seems to favor Samsung over Apple. They both visited south Korea few months ago to talk about AI collab with Samsung, LG, SK and etc.
How will Apple not turn into another Google?
With Apple Car cancelled, I think it is time to stop looking at Apple as an Innovation driven company. They are a wonderful company in terms of Customer Experience, ease of use, etc, but not in term of Innovation. I think Cook recognizes that, and is looking for ways to "bring innovations" in through Acquisitions and partnerships.
Apple in its formative years and under Steve Jobs have been innovative but to be honest Tim Cook is a disappointment.

I don't really think apple needs any of this, user's don't need a ChatGPT from apple, there are already apps doing it, apple has been doing a lot of progress on their AI chips for inference tasks, no one is going to buy an iPhone to ask it to generate an image.
Having Siri working really well in the other hand, and having it working so well (as apple aims to do) and integrated with everything else in their ecosystem, there is where I see their play.
Now, training models require data and given their privacy stance I think that is where the problem is, I really hope apple comes up with USABLE AI rather than AI just for the sake of following a trend.

I suspect Google reached out to Apple first as they are lagging behind in AI and need a boost. Apple being Apple, will be happy with 30b extra cash per year just like google search in iPhone. Apple could have build search and AI tools if they wanted to. May be they will. I am more concerned about Apple's privacy USP now.

Apple only adds the slightest of new features to the newest iPhones and only years after Android has made a great feature on their platforms.
If the newest iPhone coming out this September doesn’t have a strong AI presence people will start jumping ship to Samsung.
As a longtime Apple user and definitely in the Apple ecosystem I’m often tempted to switch to Samsung.

Joining Open AI will give better integration for Apple! Samsung integrated Gemini with the S24 series. I got the phone for its AI for text. It's not accurate at all! I hope Apple can make it better. I Wish Chat GPT was integrated. it's simply accurate. Surprisingly the magic keyboard, google has not integrated with other apps, and it's not great. Apple is known for better implementation. I hope they will do it well.

So... Dear sir... Too note.. All internet packages come singulair across my 56 baud modem on the same frequency. Wich is a bit slow. What if all those packages have a different frequency on the copper wire and only my package CHANGES FROM FREQEUNCY BASED ON MY ADRESS. Then if an IP address where a unique frequency , Wich is not, then simultaneous frequencies multiband internet ipv4 will NOT reach me, as a bottleneck Wich will speed up.... Whole internet ? Questo ??? Instead of an unique ADRESS on the same channel ( IP dns and Mac) a whole new unique frequency. So I don't DISTURB other faster users. It is an invention..think about it on paper and pencil. Like physical mailboxes.
