I have a sea ice colony and I can relate to just how hard it is to regulate temperature early game. However, I think I had the same situation as you being that late game was actually quite easy, even for food. The more infrastructure you have, the easier it is to actually survive, even when taking raid scaling into account. Despite not being able to grow trees, I never really had that much need for wood surprisingly. It was a bit difficult to feed the thrumbos without trees though (not the food needed to feed them, just hauling it to them took a while). Also, since the raids had to spend more points on the clothing budget to make sure they didn't freeze to death, I noticed a lot less armour on them.
Ice sheet is not easy now, but it's more so than it used to be. These days you can even do things like grow w/o sunlamp (mushrooms) and grow wood indoors (not great but you can make SOME wood this way on ice sheet w/o just trading). Sea ice is still hell/dependent on trades and needs some starting resources. Unlike ice sheet, using soil isn't an option whatsoever (unless there's a new bug I don't know about, you used to be able to make soil on sea ice by draining the shallow water with a pump lol). Components can be a problem if not careful with them, since you're more necessarily depending on the hydroponics setup. I think ice sheet with regular starts can get by w/o trades pretty easily now, but on sea ice you'd still need them.

I've recently found this channel and got to say. Absolutely love the music choise. I recognize like 90% of them and love them all. Nier replicant, ori, made in abyss, ender lilies and others. Love all of them

Flake is a more efficient drug to make, as yayo needs twice as many leaves to make which means less money., 80 leaves makes 20 flake which sell for 280 silver, or 10 yayo which sell for 210 silver.
Masterwork recurve bow has really good accuracy in short distances. Good at early phase. This is why i'm adicted to genies with 20 crafting, (always starting as tribe.) They maybe weak as genies, but just treat them as an OP support person, and it's easy to alter theirs genes later anyway. Meanwhile it'll be raining masterwork or even legendary weapons in your base very early. Oh and i also always give them genie a highmate spouse cuz i really like them very much! Hehehe.

I think I'll go rewatch those two series right now. Who needs Hollywood when you have great videogames and great let's players? I tried playing modded Rimworld with max temperature. I think its impossible in vanilla. I only survived because I had some clothes at the start with insane insulation, and that androids mod with the droids that could tolerate the heat to help me. So far, every raid or caravan sent at me never seemed to account for this heat, and end up having minor heatstrokes while trying to raid me. Zero animals, and no plant growth unless you can cool a room down enough. The planet is so stupidly hot, that the entire point of existence for my colony is to build a ship using Save Our Ship 2 and getting the hell out of there and settle somewhere else. ANYWHERE else.
Could we get a run of you playing an imp or a dragon for 100 days in the modded Pyroclastic Flow biome? It's one added by the Alpha Biomes mod. Also side note- Why do you make such good damn content? It's well edited, entertaining, and long enough for me to put on and enjoy while I sit down to paint. I feel like I should be paying you for this.
Are you going to install some mods to increase the difficulty / amount of events / variety in the game (Like bigger bases for NPCs) in the future? Would be cool to watch you fighting through new challenges :)
Maybe you can do 100 days with vanilla facions expanded empire and the goal would be to make Silver the High stellarch and it would be cool to see what would you do to get there
I actually got insanely lucky and got a vampire on my 3rd year (ingame). Since I have the gene ripper, I’m trying to get only the archite genes that don’t affect the hunger rates. Insanely op.
Aw the donkey thing caught me off guard with how sweet that little quest was. Even in near apocalyptic conditions someone just wants their pets to have a good time 🥲
1:49:00 Why take care of the off map Sun Blocker? It doesn't affect you in anyway, except killing your small amount of Solar Panels. All your food is grown indoors. Edit: And it prevents other off map problem causers that would affect you. Example: EMI Dynamo, Toxic Generator
Solar panels are a very reliable power source when paired with batteries. Geothermal generators are limited. I usually only get one geothermal generators and just spam solar panels with batteries. They are especially good with the advanced solar panel mod and solar flare protector.

Yayo is one of the best drugs in game imo. Very lucrative business wise and useful for pawns to take. It’s not half bad irl also 😂
